Brought my cat in last weekend kasi he fell and was in shock. Doc Melai and Gina helped us out. They were really nice naman. Obvious talaga na everyone from the guard to the doctors are really into animals. Mabait din silang lahat which was nice. Ang cute pa sa labas may mga pusakal with collars

Kaso lang,  it wasn't exactly what I expected when you come in for an emergency. It wasn't like I just skipped in looking for cat treats. I was super scared kasi talagang kakaiba yung behavior na nakita ko sa cat ko before we decided to go to VIP. Para siyang patay na when I saw him, tapos nag curl up yung legs niya which was really really scary. I was all panicky and they had me pa fill out forms and all that and we waited longer than I expected, la naman masyado tao. He was walking around when we got there, but the first thing I told them was that he fell from the stairs. Form ang inabot sakin :p Sabi nga ng brother ko, pano if something was really wrong, namatayan ka na Buti na lang my cat turned out ok or I'd be cussing and ranting about them now.

Siguro lang if may taga VIP dito, you could do something about your CS when someone comes in for an apparent emergency.

may time sis while waiting at VIP mandaluyong nakita ko naman na-forgo yung usual procedure (the form and the wait to be called, hehe) nung may pumasok cradling a very limp dog (who turned out to be dead or dying that time, not sure ). the owner was crying (quite loudly) the whole time and sinalubong na sya agad ni doc riza ata yun...so i guess kapag you tell them emergency then uunahin ka nila, esp kapag ang haba kasi ng pila kelangan siguro obvious para ok lang na mauna ka sa mga waiting na, hehe.

nutata, i had a quite similar experience with you. Emergency case din. I came home and found my pup had bitemarks, yung dad ata nya was trying to kill him... We rushed him to VIP, early evening ata nun... Mega cry ako nun and i was handed a form by the receptionist to be filled out... I was like - huh? Cant this wait?... Super taranta ako that i even forgot what CP on the form meant. I had to ask my sister pa. And she whispered to me - cellphone.  ... The receptionist said that they needed the info to be keyed in the system... Anyway, i guess these people know what they're doing. I guess they've seen it all and can assess which case can and cant wait.

So how's your cat doing? I hope much better now.

^Same same. Went to the Manda branch, early evening too. He was actually okay when we got home. Had a few x-rays and then okay naman daw siya. Ngayon though parang weird siya, he's totally depressed and parang galit ata sakin for bringing him to the vet. Dunno if that's a side effect nung binigay sa kanyang shot for the shock. The doc said it will weaken his immune system daw or something. Will wait a day or two and if he's still moping, I'm bringing him back. I hate it talaga pag sick (or acting sick) siya!

^ definitely bring him back for a follow-up... Yung sakin na confine pa nga for several days. Buti sayo naiuwi mo same day. Its always painful to leave them at the hospital. 

Some pets nagtatampo talaga when they're brought to the vet. My pup is like that. Kaya after vet, pasyal muna kami maski 30 mins lang rather than driving straight back home. Otherwise, long face ang mokong.

^thanks sis! problema ko kasi, kakablood test lang ng panganay ko 3 days ago, yung sgpt nya ang may problema. 2nd blood test na pero di pa rin okay kahit natapos namin yung meds. sabi ng vet namin, inom sya ulit ng meds tapos double dose na. hindi ko alam kung follow ko na kasi gusto ko ng 2nd opinion. Baka kasi pag punta namin sa ibang vet, kuhanan na naman sya ng blood sample, eh kakainject lang sa kanya ng ivomec at may effect yun sa blood analysis diba?

Update lang ako. Brought him in yesterday. When we got there mga 9am daming tao, tapos he wasn't moving around na and was breathing heavy. Signed the form and waited. Patient pa ko nun. Tapos may pumasok after us tapos later napansin ko nakipagchikahan siya dun, and NAUNA pa. Checked the log, talagang they logged in after us. I WAS SO PISSED. To think I was in a friendly mood that day. I asked the receptionist kung pang ilan kami. Pang 3 pa daw (may check mark na yung pumasok after us ha). Sobrang napikon ako. I asked kung may iba pang doctor, explain sila blah blah blah. Oks lang sana kaso kita ko sa form mga nakapila, mga for shots lang ekek. Mas emergency naman yung sakin. So I said in a loud voice, HA? WHAT IF HE DIES? Biglang lumabas si Doc Dr. Nick Carpio tapos asked what was wrong and they immediately took him inside.

BUTI NA LANG. My baby turned out to have accumulated liquid in his thorax that was giving him difficulty breathing. Di siya nakita sa xray last time (wth). Pero baka daw kasi after na lang daw, paguwi namin nagaccumulate. Doc Nick and Nielsen took him upstairs tapos tried draining the liquid from his chest. God yung panic ko lang that day talaga. I had to have him confined kasi he was put in oxygen and all that. And delikado daw ang surgery so puro drain and waiting lang kami now

Visited him twice since yesterday and both times galit siya sakin. Tumatalikod siya pag pinupuntahan ko, nakakaiyak He's stable naman daw for now but they'll have to keep him there to make sure di bumalik yung liquid, and drain when necessary. Did some research and medyo naguguluhan ako sa prognosis. Sabi pa ng isang doc na nagbabantay sa kanya when I asked for his opinion, di daw niya masabi yung outlook kasi ngayon lang siya nakakita ng ganun. Hays. Am praying na okay lang kalabasan

Mababait sila dun, kaso talaga parang petiks minsan, kailangan ka-good mo mga tao para pansinin ka. Talaga bang kailangan magskandalo ka pa dun diba? Also, I had a friend who brought his dog in and came out with parvo. Dog died. Dun nakuha At one point when I asked san nakuha ng cat ko yun, one of the docs na nagbabantay said baka daw may nahawang virus from another cat. WTH. I have no other cats and indoor cat siya. Dun lang talaga kami pumunta. Sabay bawi. Hays. I trust the doctors naman who's directly on his case, I really really hope it turns out okay. Nakakadepress di ako makaconcentrate sa work

Sorry to hear that you needed to create a mini scene to get immediate care. Those 2 vets are the bosses ata there. Alam ko for sure si neilsen... If i were you, i'd talk to neilsen, tell him what happened and also ask him what to do in emergency cases. Tell them how you felt. Im sure they will listen to you, and hopefully they will call the attn of those in the front desk. Newbie faces sila sakin.

Sis abu, alam ko sq vip tests may be done in-house lab and meron din sa labas. Pag rush, sympre in-house and mas mahal. Pag di naman kelangan na rush, pwede sa lab sa labas, mas mura. Pero mag follow-up call ka for results.

Ganun kasi ginawa ni doc gina dati. First blood test, we waited for 15 or so minutes... Yung follow up, after 2 days ata results. Disadvantage lang, pag di normal at may kelangan gawin sa pet mo, babalik ka na naman... Kaya ako i opt for in-house nalang para ma lessen ang trip. Numb na bulsa ko sa medical expenses, sa totoo lang. 

Im not sure din kung option ito for all types of blood work. Baka depende rin sa test na kelangan mo.

Sana ok na maging next results ng alaga mo. I know its hard pag may health issue mga alaga.

And speaking of which, due again yung alaga ko for his kidney test. Eto na naman ako, having mini heart attacks stressing about it.

^kamusta ang results sis? sana okay naman sya, medyo matagal na rin pala yung kidney issue nya diba. nakakastress pag may health condition, walang peace of mind

thanks for the info, hindi ako makagawa ng move kasi ang dami kong iniisip. nakausap ko yung vet namin kanina, baka daw food yung dahilan ng elevated sgpt. at balik liver supplements na naman kami. nagulat pa sya nung nalaman nyang double dose na yung binigay ko last time kasi mataas pa rin daw from the normal level yung 2nd blood results. inadvise nya rin ako na magpalit ng food, yung with low protein daw, kasi baka yung protein from the raw meat ang culprit. pero ang hindi ko nagustuhan, sinuggest nya yung mga low-quality brands na nabibili from the grocery & hardware, pati yung vet-prescripted brands like science diet, royal canin, na hate na hate ko.

Sobrang naconfused ako, gusto kong makahanap ng vet who's into raw feeding kasi di ko na talaga alam gagawin ko. He looks so healthy naman at kahit kelan di nawalan ng appetite, itong sgpt lang talaga problema namin na hindi ko alam ano ang dahilan. Meron ba kayong kilalang raw feeder na vet in VIP? Kailangan ko ng opinion niya asap. Nakakadrain na talaga kasi parang wala ng katapusan yung gamutan namin

^hi sis, how high ang sgpt levels? baka may naiinom syang gamot which affects the liver? before kasi ganun nangyari sa amin, slight elevation lang sa sgpt, ang sinabi sa akin dahil daw sa antibiotic yun kaya tumaas konti. pinag-liv 52 lang then after awhile repeat (6 months) ata ok na.

maybe fats ang culprit? not really protein.

^aside from his food, yan din iniisip ko sis, kasi monthly ang mange treatment nya. pero hindi nabanggit ng vet ang effect nito sa blood, yung raw meat lang ang nabanggit na possible cause. Ako pa nga yung nagsabi na baka dahil sa food hehe. Kaya gusto ko humingi ng 2nd opinion, gusto ko maliwanagan kasi ang advise sakin is to go back sa dogfood na ayoko na ulit gawin. Yung sgpt nya is around 180 ata, normal daw is around 70. May nabasa din ako na normal pa daw kahit 250-280.

Nagtake na rin sya ng liv52 pero high pa rin daw ang sgpt kaya bigyan daw ulit. About the fats, medyo fat talaga tong panganay ko he weighs around 24kgs at parang mini-baboy haha! Yung fats from the raw meat, controlled ko naman kasi whole chicken, meaty pork and some organs binibigay ko, so hindi sila bugbog sa fats. Pero malakas sya kumain kaya nya 500grams or more in a day. Ang alam ko rin, dogs have the ability to utilize protein and fats, ito yung main energy nila and not carbs. So kahit may excess, di magiging problem, unless may something wrong sa system kaya hindi maprocess, like problems sa thyroid or pancreatitis.

^maybe it's just the ivermectin shots. hindi naman ganun kataas. i checked my baby's previous labs from VIP 10-118 U/L ang normal value nila. maybe an idea would be ipahinga muna si abu from ivermectin then recheck. currently controlling my mange problem with superdog soap lang. so far, so good. the rash dried up tapos medyo nagkaka-balahibo na.

when i brought nga pala my dog sa animal specialists, my new favorite vet, doc guno shifted his ivermectin na to another drug. dko remember name. it's similar daw to ivermectin but mas hindi toxic, dunno kung tama ang intindi ko. siguro sis try mo nga mag-second opinion, para may peace of mind ka din.

^nung inask ko ang vet kung masama ang ivomec, sabi nya hindi naman daw. ang sabi pa, pag may mange daw, kailangan monthly na talaga ang treatment. more than a year na ata kami nagiivomec/advocate kaya feeling ko ito talaga ang main cause ng elevated sgpt nya. Gusto ko na rin magstop for few months, tapos soap and heartgard na lang muna siguro gamitin namin. Saka ko sya ipaskin scrape and blood test ulit. Kaso ang advise naman sakin is to stop raw feeding and ibalik sa dogfood. Pero yung mange treatment, hindi binanggit. May idea ka sis, until when present ang meds sa blood nila? Ang daming kong tanong, pero very minimal ang nakukuha kong sagot

Sis pag naalala mo yung name ng drug, pwede share mo dito? kailangan ko ng alternatives para di naman bugbog sa gamot tong panganay ko. Naghahanap ako ng vet who's a bulldog expert kasi masyado silang sensitive and more prone to health issues, palipasin ko lang for few weeks kasi recent yung ivomec nya. iniisip ko kasi baka magkaroon ng malaking effect sa blood result kung ipapacbc ko na naman sya. Buti na lang talaga healthy-looking sya at mukha namang walang problema kaya medyo nakakapaghunusdili pa ako Thanks so much sis for the info, ang hirap pag scientific masyado problema nila, walang masyadong info na readily available. Kahit yung friends ko who's taking up med, tinatanong ko na rin.
