Vets in Practice (VIP)

Hi mga sis. I am kinda hoping I could get a summary of your experiences with vets in practice
particularly -- Mandaluyong branch.

Please post away your experiences (good or bad).

Puro good experience ako sa kanila!     I've been their client since 2003. That time Doc Mike was still practicing and he's the one who goes on house calls. When he retired si Doc Racky took over. Though we also bring our cats to their hospital (yes, hospital na sila not just a clinic) if needed. Just yesterday one of our cat had surgery done by Doc Nielsen. Wawa my cat but he's getting better na.

I'd been to Vets in practice madrigal last wed to check if my lab is preggy. At first xray was done. then the vet said "parang hindi" daw kasi walang skeletal na lumabas sa xray. So he asked me if gusto ko pa ultra sound. Then sabi ko go. But before that, palpation was done. Then after the ultrasound sabi nya nga preggy daw. Then I asked him mga ilan. Sabi nya the ultrasound cannot tell how many puppy.

I'm just wondering wala syang binigay na parang film. di ko alam ano ang tawag don eh basta yung print out result na parang pic. What if hindi naman talaga na ultrasound. we can never tell kasi nga di man lang kami tinawag to see or xplain diba.

then i asked him kung pwede lagyan ng frontline, una sabi nya di sya sure, ang alam daw nya hindi. then he asked another vet inside, lumabas sya may dala na syang frontline. sa tingin ko bago lang yung vet na yon.

talaga bang walang print out result ang ultrasound?

^^My cat had glaucoma that was caused by a head trauma nung kitten pa sya. Lumalaki yung eyeball nya due to the pressure sa mata di na makaya ng eye drops. So we had his eye enucleated. Awa nga kami eh. But he's doing okay na.

@hannie - Di pa ko nagpapa-ultrasound sa cats ko usually xray specially nung nabalian yung isa kung cat (the same cat who had glaucoma na pinatanggal na namin yung affected eye). Yung xray film pinakita naman sa amin kasi the vet explained what happend and paano gagamutin.

If you don't feel comfortable with the vet who attended to your lab you can always request for the senior vets. Look for Dr. Nielsen, Dr. Nick Carpio or Dr. Marga Carpio. Sila yung mga owners/founders ng VIP. Si Doc Nielsen goes to VIP-Manda every M-Th 9-12. Drs. Carpio not sure lang on their sched kasi they have other branches that they go to also. Better give VIP a call to check if any of the doctors will be coming in para sure ka.

The number 1 vets in the metro. manda branch i believe is their main branch. Look for Dr. Marga.

ganon?! e kasi nga paglabas nya may dala na sya eh. i just asked him if ok ang frontline kasi nga may ticks!

ako client ng VIP Manda for around 6 months already.  Super satisfied ako at magagaling ang vets.  I have a 9 mo. old Shih Tzu and pagkabili namin from the breeder dun ko na sya dinadala.

^That's good to know! Baka magkita pa tayo there one of these days.     I agree okay yung vets nila specially the senior/owners. Sayang lang Mike retired na. He's one of the owners and he used to do our housecalls.

I'll be back there on Sunday to have my cat's stitches removed.

^oo nga baka magkita tayo. Although di na ko namimili ng vet. So far okay naman lahat.  At kitang mong animal lovers sila. Pag kinakarga nila dog ko dinidilaan face nila and okay lang sa kanila   One time nga umiyak ang puppy ko kasi masakit daw yung injection for kennel cough. Kinarga pa ni Doc Gina at parang batang hinele yung puppy ko.

mga sis ako din gusto kong makanap ng ok na vet sa VIP yung mahilig sa cats or cats ang specialty nya. can you recmmend anyone? thanks

^Sayang sis yung pinaka-expert sa cats retired na, Dr. Mike. He has 30+ cats! But all of the vets there naman okay. I usually see the senior/founders for my cats kasi sila na yung nakagisnan nila even when they were still at their old clinic. That would be Dr. Nielsen, Drs. Nick and Marga Carpio. For our housecall, si Dr. Racky. Medyo bago sya and sya ang pumalit kay Dr. Mike who does the housecalls before.
