Well, you never ever forget someone you loved.  Never
But the intensity of the emotions wrapped around that loved one --  diminishes/fades through time.
It is true what my Lola says:  Time heals all wounds.

There's a song that goes:   "I remember the boy; but I don't remember the feeling anymore".
