ano magandang gawin sa wedding gown pagakatapos ng kasal?

mga sis, this is a dilemma for everyone (i guess). what will you do with your uber expensive wedding gown after the big day? naisip niyo rin ba un? hindi ba kayo nanghinayang? or should i say, hindi ba kayo nahirapan hanapan ng lugar kung san ilalagay un pagkatapos?

we had a lot of weddings in our family. most of the time, tambak ang wedding gowns sa malaking carton na nasa itaas ng cabinet. nung bata ako, iniisip ko, sayang naman, inaalikabok nalang pagkatapos. kasi naman who will wear "the same" wedding gown within our family. ang panget naman sa picture kung ulit uli. most of them, nagpagawa talaga or bumili ng bago. anyway, "golden wedding" is uber matagal pa and by that time, baka di na sakanila kasya un!

ako nga i have set of bridesmaid dresses as gift from the bride when i did their entourage. ayun din nakatambak!

so kayo mga sis, what did you do with your wedding gown? naulit niyo bang gamitin?hehe..

I've seen a couple of trash the dress shots after the wedding.  It's pretty cool. 

I'd like to preserve my gown too.  Just in case, my kids or grandkids would want to see or wear it in the future.

i have a friend that did the 'trash the dress' thing. they used paint balls with that. then afterwards, pina-frame nila yung bodice nung gown nya. naka-hang nagyun yun sa new house nila

di ba meron naman supplier that does gown preservation? that's what im thinking kasi eh.

It depends on how you want to trash it.  You can dip in a pool or stream. Or on a rainy day with your groom

we're keeping the dress/suit....  

its the one we wore when we 'faced' God to be one kasi, kahit na super mahal, its the notion naman that we wore our best on this special day.

if you have budget have it preserved. meron gumagawa na nun including the accessories like bouquets and symbols kasama sa preservation i dont know how much it cost now kasi last 2008 nasa 10k na sya.

Else box it. just make sure tight yun pagkaclose sa box walang way para mapasukan ng alikabok kasi ending nyan yun mga beads pwede madumihan.. Have it dry cleaned also kahit once a year for maintenance lang ingat lang sa dry cleaning shop wag basta basta kung saan saan lang...

or benta! hehe... yun iba pinaparent nila, yun iba pinahihiram.. it really depends..

Tanong ko yung mga lower batch (meaning your sisters, cousins) if they want the gown, otherwise, ibebenta ko. My site dito sa US, http://www.preownedweddingdresses.com/ wherein you can sell your dress. I f I get half the amount that I paid for it, masaya na ako. I can buy shoes!

parang lumalabas na it's not worth spending a big amount for the bride's gown tuloy   eek!

^hey sis! kung kaya naman edi go! once in a lifetime experience kasi, yan ang reason ko. life is short eh! ang pera kayang kaya kitain. pero yung chance na super satisifed ka sa araw na yon, di na mauulit.

maganda yung idea na ipa preserve ha. para pwede ipakita sa mga anak or apo.

ako naman, dahil di carry ng bulsa namin ang magpapreserve, pinadry clean lang namin, nilagay sa plastic, ni-seal tapos nilagay sa box nya then we sealed it together with the other wedding paraphernalias. tapos yung box na yun, nilagay pa ulit sa isang plastic tapos ni-seal ulit. pagkadami-daming kasi-seal nun.

sabi kasi nung ilang relatives, ibenta raw, paupahan or ipasuot sa kapatid or kamag-anak kapag Santacruzan. hay naku, kahit pa di mamahalin yung gown ko, naging saksi yung sa pag-iisnag dibdib namin ni hubby kaya sobrang pinapahalagahan ko yun. sabi ko, ako lang ang pwedeng magsuot nun at wala ng iba. taray!

mine's either quickly going to a cousin or going straight to eBay.

can't preserve. refuse to spend any more money towards a dress i only will get to wear once.

can't keep it in my house. no more valuable real estate space in my closet.

can't have any future daughter or grand-daughter use it. would you have worn your mother's or your grandmother's wedding gown today? i guess not. point made.

can't keep it just so other people can see it one day. that's what the photographers and videographers are for.

if we recycle plastic bottles that only cost a few cents, then why not a wedding gown that costs in the hundreds or thousands? a lot of good that will do sitting in a closet, haha.

around how much will i spend for gown preservation? i wanna pass it on to my future daughter.

I'm thinking of either preserving it or selling it online. Who knows? It may be used for costume parties! Or I can have it revamped or altered for a more practical look and preserve it for special occasions.
