Pros and Cons of Living in a Condominium against living in a house

Sis , main road na ba kaagad paglabas ng subdivision? If so, ano ang means of transpo?  Although may car kami,  mas mainam pa rin na madali ang pag commute using public transpo.
 Doon kasi sa na ocular ko na subdivision sa Paranaque, puro tricycle lang sakayan and medyo katakot dahil ang layo sa main road.

if wala kang car ok pa ba tumira sa mga subd sa muntinlupa? hindi ka mahirapan magtranspo? kase hindi 24/7 ang transpo doon right? iniisip ko kase kapag may emergency at walang car tapos disoras nang gabi or madaling araw paano na kaya???

Hello sisses, 24/7 po ang transpo sa Muntinlupa area i think as confirmed by future neighbors. From our would be village, theres a tryke then mga 5minutes nsa muntinlupa city hall ka na which is the sorta hughway or busiest street in the area, then there are jeepneys going to alabang. Then from alabang there are bus na going NB along Edsa or going to Manila area. I didnt notice kung sa may Muntinlupa City hall may diretsong bus na, hindi ako nagppay attention, usually we go there by car.

Also, mas mahirap talaga pag Parañaque area ang public transpo even taxis mahirap lalo na kung sa bf homes. Kasi my office colleague lives in pque and super nahihirapan sya magcab sa umaga pero no such prob sa muntinlupa. Not sure why.

Hope that helps  Hindi  pa ako expert sa pasikot sikot sa muntinlupa and south area  (i was born and raised in Makati) kasi as i've said, magmmove in palang kami next year but i know people who live sa area na un and ive done enough research sa future neighbors. Haha.

For now, my husband and I live in a 1-br condo, primarily for security and convenience. We frequently travel, so pag condo, iwan mo lang na naka-lock, no worries na on akyat-bahay, etc. Longest time we left our condo uninhabited was for one year, when husband was assigned abroad and he took me with him. Pinapupunta lang namin yung katulong ng kuya ko once a month, para maglinis at kunin ang mails namin. ibinilin namin sa guard yung name para papasukin nila. Also pag me business trip si hubby, ako lang naiiwan sa condo, hindi nakakatakot, di ako nagwoworry kung me masasamang tao na nasa labas or whatever. It's low maintenance, IMO. Fortunately, our floor neighbors are ok naman. Tsaka we're in a corner unit so one side lang namin ang me kakabit na another unit. Tapos wala pa nakatira sa katabing unit, so walang problema.

But eventually, pag nagkaanak na kami, we might have to move, either to a bigger condo (our first option, a spacious 3-br siguro) or a house (in a village or in a compound, para safer pa din).

Then pag lumaki na ang pamilya, we plan to have a house in a nice village. Meron na nga ako "floor plan" na ginawa for our dream house. Ito na din ang magiging ancestral/retirement house na namin, where our future kids and grandkids can visit us.

I always envisioned myself living in a nice upscale condo. I don't mind if it isn't too spacious. Just want it to be really modern and located in the city. Because i'm a city kind of gal.

^Apir sis, we have the same vision.  I am a city girl and forever will be.  I bought a condo in Mckinley because I imagine myself just going dowstairs to take my coffee in starbucks.

I stay sa condo only when I'm too tired or super busy. Hindi ako makatagal na restricted masyado sa space like in a condo kahit gaano kaganda. I need space for my gardening, trees, space for kids and dogs to run around in, and bbq parties. Gusto ko rin na accessible ang vehicles within the same property unlike sa condo. Dami ring restrictions sa condo, malas pa kung pasaway ang mga kapitbahay mo sa kaliwa kanan taas at baba. Sa house, you can renovate or fix anything anytime you like. Lalong ayoko sa high rise condos; pag nagkasunog o lindol, hindi ka makakababa agad at hindi ka maaabot ng bumbero kung e.g. nasa 20th floor ka.

If its within the city, condo ako. I want a place close to my work and other amenities like easy access in groceries and restaus.  If Sa tagaytay, because I want a bigger garden, i want a home.  Nowadays, hirap na maghanap sa manila ng may garden na hindi bandang laguna especially kung brand new.  If i'd get a house, i want it big like my grandparent's where you can hold parties sa garden.

Alin ang mas high maintenance at magastos, house or condo?

Naisip ko mainit tumira sa condo, pero malapit sa workplace, saka mahal ang association dues.

Sa house, low maintenance, pero dapat very safe ang location mo, and usually malayo na sa workplace mo, inconvenient unless you have a car, kasi sa mga subdivision mahirap mag walk
or ride a tricycle witn expensive fare.

^depende talaga sa lifestyle siguro. for me sis parang mas low maintenance tumira sa condo. less repairs sa bahay like bubong, yung facade/exteriors ng bahay mo, gutters. yung garbage bahala na sila mag abang sa basurero, may generator & tangke ng tubig rin, yung tubig & cleaning ng swimming pool kasama na sa dues e kung may sarili kang H&L with pool baka yung monthly mo kulang pa to cover pool expenses. you can hold parties rin sa clubhouse kesa magrent ng space elsewhere.

nakatira kami sa starter home ni hubby pero may small condo rin kami dito sa malapit kasi gusto namin magswim kapag may chance. sa totoo lang minsan parang gusto ko na lang lumipat doon kahit mas maliit, kasi kapag walang househelp mas konti ang lilinisin, lakad ka lang ng konti mall na e hindi pa naman kami marunong magluto ni hubby, so very convenient.

ngayong rainy season na nagpaayos kami ng gutter dito sa bahay at bubong, mukhang kailangan ko din magpa pintura kasi madumi na ang walls at yung ceiling may marks na square dahil ata sa kahoy sa loob. ewan ko lang kung sa condo walang cockroach, lizard, langgam, etc. pero sa condo namin parang wala.

yun lang kung mahilig ka magluto, mahirap yan sa condo kasi smaller at enclosed space so smelly depende sa niluluto, pati mahirap maglaundry ng sariling clothes for the same reason.

like sis xtine, ang gusto ko talaga house na may malaking garden with a lap pool at gap na malayo sa neighbor, but mahirap na maghanap ngayon ng ganyan at sobrang pricey. at the same time gustohin ko man kapag iniisip ko kung paano ko i-maintain ang ganung property plus kailangang housekeeper, gardener, etc. parang naiisip ko happy na ata ako sa condo.

let's say i have an option to choose between a P5M house vs P5M condo..

i'd go for house and lot na, kasi iba yung environment nun compared sa condo.

1. you can have your very own garden, a place to hold parties, etc
2. condo association dues, uber mahal
3. some condos are not pet friendly.
4. house and lot is very suitable for a growing family
5. and with a P5M house and lot, mas malaking area na makukuha ko dun compared sa condo..
