Pros and Cons of Living in a Condominium against living in a house

we are currently living in a condo, but planning to buy a house and lot after the wedding.

i prefer house&lot, since mahilig ako  magtanim ng plants, herbs&veggies..

i prefer to live in a house which we really own. walang bayad ang parking space, hindi nakadikit ang walls ko sa neighbors, pwede ako mag garden and magpa landscape, and i could throw a party sa house (sa condo kasi limited space)...

for me it's more convenient to live in a house.
wala kang babayaran na kung anek anek na fees.

gusto ko din ng house... mabuti meron na si hubby, yun lang sa laguna malapit sa pacita...

kapag may family na kasi dapat house talaga.. mahirap sa condo, limited space, masikip, madaming concerns at bayarin unlike sa house na free ka to do anything (basta legal)... 

saka kahit ilang taon pa, pwedeng ipamana sa mga anak.. ang condo, baka wala na yun pagdating ng matanda na..

Mas ok [textspeak!] ang house.. kung meron ka nang pambili.. house na convenient para sayo.. hindi yung sa malayong location...

right now, Im 23.. and im thinking to get a condo unit muna for the mean time.. hindi ko pa [textspeak!] kaya ang house and lot dito sa metro manila.. meron [textspeak!] pero sobrang layo na sa work place ko.

Im eyeing yung Robinson residences n itatayo dito sa Pasig near eastwood city.

i've been renting a condo for 5 years already, soon to move to our own condo unit with hubby and daughter. personally, i'd still prefer a house but nothing beats the convenience of living in a condo unit which for me, primarily, is location. nasasayangan kasi ako sa oras spent on the road. kaya kinuha namin na unit is just across my office. though definitely, if the resources permit, a house will be in the works hoefully within the next 5 years. autonomy naman habol mo doon. with condo living kasi, madami house rules. i'm looking forward to growing my own herbs someday.

Ideally, I want a house & lot too. But since it's my parents who'll be living in it most of the time, and they don't want to leave the place they've lived in for the past 30 years (Ortigas CBD area), for now I can only afford to buy them a 3-bedroom condo (bought at foreclosed value pa).  Exag kasi prices pa ng houses at this area, pinakamababa na yung P8M sa maliit pa na townhouse yan.  Although I could loan in the bank that amount, jusme naman amort aabot P80k+/month. Tapos nagpapadala pa ko allowance nila monthly. So parang ang sweldo ko mostly sa kanila na lang mapupunta.

My husband and I dream naman na in 5 years max, we'll be able to buy our dream house na.  We also want to stay in the same vicinity as my parents 'cos aside sa convenience, we want it to be a good investment that we can sell in a great price someday, so it has to be in a good location.

Mas gusto ko ang house and lot.

Hubby and I own a unit in Eastwood. 3bedrooms, 2 toilet/bath, + 1bedroom for maid and maid's toilet and bath. Malaki naman yung rooms. Pero now that we're going to have a baby, parang mas gusto namin tumira sa house talaga. May amenities nga sa condo, and it's near the mall lang, BUT, everytime you have a guest na may car, they need to park pa sa mall. Minsan nakakahiya, I need to pay for their parking. Syempre we only have 1 parking slot and they don't usually allow guests to park sa parking areas. Di katulad pag bahay, sa labas lang ng gate, pwede na. And when it comes to emergency, medyo mahirap coz of course di lang naman ikaw ang gumagamit ng elevator. You can't be too loud also. Sometimes, nangangapitbahay pa yung amoy ng food that you cook sa neighbor. There's a lot of advantage talaga when living sa house vs. sa condo.
Plus the recent earthquake we had, it scared me talaga. Felt like nagle-lean na yung building sa kabilang building. Hopefully, hubby and I will be able to purchase house and lot in the future then maybe we'll have our unit rented nalang.

We have a condo unit in Manila and lived there for more than a year... then transferred to a house. Wow, iba feeling, it's more convenient, more homey and a lot lot more advantages.. Dues are even cheaper in a village than in condos :0)

house and lot. Kasi yung condo, after 50 years useless na. If its my very own house and lot, after 50 years I can renovate it or demolish it and build a new one.

While young and newlywed, I'm quite happy to stay in a condo. Fortunately the condo we're staying in now offers guest parking and the PMO seems relatively efficient. There's a lot less space to clean compared to a house (2BR, 2 T/B na kami ngayon, I can't quite keep up! Paano na kung bahay pa?!) We're renting now though.

In about 3-5 years, I'm hoping to get a single detached family home (house & lot) that we can grow into. Not quite a starter home, but rather some place we can stay for at least 10 years. =) Till then, masaya magbasa dito at manood ng HGTV and mag-visit ng apartment therapy and other home design inspiration sites.

I have a house & lot being rented out sa Carmona, Cavite. It would be so nice to have that privacy for ourselves kaso lang naman it's so far from the city. Really can't beat the convenience of living in the city at this point in our lives.

House pa din at dapat may malawak na bakuran. It is more homey at mas amgiging comfortable ako dun.
