I have a question for those who already have their own domain. I have been blogging for two years now under sa blogspot at I'm using the .blogspot.com extension pa. I'm into earning online and I think buying your own domain has many advantages.

Now, I want to buy my own domain. I want to ask advices from you.

Follow this steps to check availability of your chosen domain:
1. Go to www.godaddy.com website or any of the dozens of domain sellers that can be found through a quick search.
2. Type your domain name idea. and hit.
If the domain you enter is available, you may want to buy it immediately.

Yan lang muna.  I got that from reading "How to make money with your blog"  I am planning kasi to buy my own domain name din. And since I am no-techie buff, I rely to old fashioned books heheh

before you buy a domain, check muna if there are available promo codes.. like on godaddy.. search ka nalang sa google like godaddy promo codes..

i was able to buy one a couple of months ago for only $1~something/76php on godaddy..

mode of payment requires a credit card/paypal etc.. if you don't have any of those, there are philippine based webhosts that can provide you with a domain name as well.

Also, know the cons and pros.

Mawawala PR ng site mo if change mo kaagad. Pero mas maganda pa rin na magkaown domain ka na as early as now.

Also, better if own hosting na rin.

GoDaddy rin ako bumibili ng domain. Balitaan kita pag may promo ulit. Pag wala naman, the cheapest you can get is around $8 including ICANN fee na. $1 pag .info

i suggest namecheap.com, i heard transferring domains from godaddy to other providers is really a hassle. namecheap gives gives promo codes and they have occasional trivia quizzes and stuff so you could also win domains of your choice hehe

.info costs $1.89 for the first year, and $9.89 for the following years. cheap lang for the first year lol

I bought my domain sa Blogger na rin for my Story Book Mom blog 2 days ago, as per sis realm suggestion (iwas hassle). Under blogger pa rin un hosting. At loss pa rin ako actually kung ano ba next step na dapat ko gawin. Status nya ngayon is in transition pa rin.

tnx sis liz for the reply I am actually reading all your blogs especially yun may mga tutorials and tips on how to monetize blogs. 1st time ko pa [textspeak!] kumuha ng sariling domain kaya sa blogger muna ako bumili. Pag medyo gamay ko na, sa GoDaddy na rin ako para naman dun sa 2 ko pang blogs. Gusto ko rin nga actually mag switch from Blogger to Wordpress and hanap ng bagong host pero isa isa muna:) baka di kayanin ng powers ko
