Yes, it is reliable. I tried booking their twice. Cheap talaga ang rates nila compared sa rates sa hotel. Sure din yung cancellation policy nila na WALA talagang machacharge sayo.

same question... if I book via online hotel engines like agoda, ok lang bang 2 adults lang ilagay ko pero 5 kami talaga? Since it's my first time to book, hope someone can confirm if the entry sa payment na "Room charge (per night)" ay inclusive na of taxes/other fees. Pag nagttry kasi ako di naman total ang lumalabas tapos there's a rate pa for an extra person. Here's one example:

Room charge (per night) PHP 5,190.79
Hotel tax and service fees PHP 844.82
Total extra bed charge (per night) PHP 1,526.88

@Moody - I suggest once you select a hotel to book on booking.com you also check the hotel's website to compare the prices. Though sinasabi sa website ng booking.com they don't have booking fees, meron pa rin yun because that's how they make money. What they do it's either ipatong nila sa taxes/surcharges or mismong sa room rate ng hotel.

Example na lang I compared their rates for Holiday Inn, Courtyard and Mariott at Fisherman's Wharf, San Francisco. Then I checked directly with the hotel's website, lumalabas mas mahal ng USD5 to 10 after the total yung sa booking.com.

So always compare first before finalising your transaction. Pwedeng mas mura nga but not all the time as my example above.

^ thanks mamasqueak. Read the reviews on booking.com, daming di masaya. One said pa na thats why the rooms are relatively cheap bec you get the lousiest room or something.  And booking.com i think has made prior arrangements na with the hotel.

Sa akin naman so far ok sya...

First time ko to booked was a hotel in DUBAI. When we arrived in the hotel, ang mahal ng rates nila almost 150% more than sa rates na nakuha namin thru booking.com. Sa room naman, they give us yung higher class na room compared sa binook namin and nasurprise talaga ako.

Nung second time naman, I booked 2weeks in advance and need to cancel it. So nung kinancel ko super convenient ng process thru their site also. Now,a day before nung stay ko dapat sa hotel, narealize ko na kailangan ko talaga yung hotel room na yun. I called booking.com and they said they will call the hotel if they will still allow to retrieve it. They said, NO. I called the hotel and no nga talaga. I ask if  can get the same rates, they said no kase that rate is for booking.com lang daw.

Anyway, sa lahat ng bagay naman may good and bad side. Tama si mamasqueak na better to check the hotel rates, hotel feedbacks, and yung room na ino-offer sa booking.com.

tried and tested ko na ang booking.com lahat ng travel namin within europe dito kami nagbobook ng hotel.  very satisfied

regarding dun sa question na if you book for 2 adults then marami kayo matutulog, napansin ko parang hindi naman mahigpit ang mga hotels they don't actually check kung ilan kayo sa room.

i always use booking.com, agoda.com for my hotel bookings very easy and mura pa kesa direct sa hotel pero if you want to save a lot of money you need to book in advance para talagang mura ang rate na makukuha mo.
 i always put two persons lang kahit 4 kame sa room we stay at premier/business floors, they don't check it basta gagawin mo  2 lang ang mag-checheck-in usually 2 double beds kinukuha ko kaya kasya kameng lahat  HTH. :-)

For the big chain hotels, they are not strict in checking the number of people staying in the room unless the room rates come with breakfast. Then only the number of persons declared can avail of the breakfast. For the small independent hotels/B&Bs, it's a different story. They are stricter since they can easily monitor the guests coming in/out of their property.

we booked thru booking.com for our kalibo accomodation. it was a small hotel and i couldn't find it's website on google so ayun we pushed thru with it. ayos naman ang hotel. legit naman ang booking.com ang di ko lang gusto when we got to the hotel mas mura sa kanila kesa sa booking.com at ang laki ng difference ha! sayang!

the best thing to do is... call the hotel na nakita mo sa mga katulad ng booking dot com. imposible naman na mas mura pa sila sa hotel mismo. the [textspeak!] they do it is.. may percentage sila sa published rates... ask the hotel or inns if they can give the same to you since direct client ka.

tried and tested ko na din booking.com. just like agoda, ok naman lahat ng transactions ko.
basta check lang lagi hotel's rate first then compare.
Madalas sa booking.com may mga taxes na hinde nila sinali kaya lumalabas na mura then pagtinotal mo parehas din sa agoda, but may mga cases talaga mas mura sa kanila.  may mga cases na mas mura sa agoda.
anyway, pansin ko lang naman, mas madaming hotels ang 'free cancellation' sa booking.com, sa agoda may mga hotel wherein meron 15usd cancellation fee.
just like etong last kong transaction. sa booking.com FREE cancellation talaga (up to 3days before) sa agoda same yung time limit kaso meron sila 15$cancellation fee but mas mura sa agoda yung room rate.

BOOKING.COM is more user-friendly, IMO, vs Agoda/Expedia.
When you want to cancel -- it is easiest if you  used Booking.com (no cancellation fees)

But it is really cheaper if you go straight book with the hotel.
In Europe -- most hotels give you less 10%  for booking directly with them.

In many instances, I prefer Booking.com over Agoda. User-friendly nga ang site at mabilis silang mag-facilitate between you and the hotel kung may additional inquiry or modifications sa booking. Madalas din ang 'Book now-pay later' offers, meaning sa hotel ka na magbabayad during your trip.

Bantayan mo lang ang prices, minsan mas mura sa Booking.com, minsan hindi. Remember to add the applicable  taxes and other fees on top of the total na quoted ng Booking.com. Compare with the hotel's offered rates pati rates ng ibang booking sites. Read the fine print kung saang site mo man gustong mag-book.

mga sis, talaga ba kapag free cancellation at pay at hotel sa booking.com di talaga charge credit card? i always use Agoda kasi, may nakita kasi ako hotel para sa Christmas vacation namin sa Hong Kong gusto ko na sana ipa book sa booking.com worry ko kasi baka mataas talaga hotel rates for December kaya gusto ko na sya ipa book habang mababa pa rate. may nakalagay kasi free cancellation until December 23. di kaya talaga charge credit card ko at sa hotel ako magbayad upon check in?please help mga sis.. thanks!

its reliable. i use booking.com for all my hotel bookings. though compare mo pa din yung direct booking sa hotel pero in my case mas mura lagi sa booking.com
