« on: April 08, 2011, 03:57:02 pm »
hi mga sis! i just found out na wala pang jogging thread for the jogging addicts! (like me) :) so i started this thread. ever since i started jogging 2 weeks ago i noticed some changes naman.. ayoko lang magtimbang baka madissapoint lang ako kasi di ko pa namimeet iyong goal ko na weight. hehe. pero anyways so far so good, natutuwa nga ko if someone compliments me na "oi pumapayat ka ha." iyon lang happy na ko at least may result iyong efforts ko. :)

Hi sis! Please count me in xx

I started jogging because I want to prepare for a major climb this summer (Mt. Apo). At first, nastress talaga ako because i have never attempted to run or jog ever, in my life. after 2 weeks of daily jogging, i noticed na nagflat na yung tummy ko. then i stopped, because i moved to a different city and then I went abroad. Naku, ambigat ng pakiramdam ko!

Then last weekend, I ran my first marathon. 5k palang, but I was so proud that I finished and at 35minutes at that!

Now, I vow to continue jogging. After holy week, sigurado na to! :)

Does jogging burn more calories than brisk walking? Kasi mas nakakapagod? Assuming same distance.

^^ sure it does, it's an excellent fat burner. and it's because jogging/running requires greater cardio output than brisk walking, or even biking.

^ agree about getting better results with varying levels of intensity on a given workout. Ill cite what I do as an example, I make fast-paced strides for 3-5 mins to be followed with a 2-3min stint of shorter, slower strides. And if I do this for abt 10-15 mins only, I still get results especially if I get to stick with and execute the alternating routine of cardio and strength training.

^sis just raise your knees and do a little hop....yun ang transition from just walking to jogging ;D

like what OD said, just vary the intensity level and you'll be on your way...
