Super happy ako with my experience in renewing my license at LTO Rob Metro East. It only took my 1.5 hours and paid Php870.

Ok ba magpa-renew ng driver's license sa LTO renewal centers sa mall? Mas mabilis ba? Open ba sila ng weekends? How much ang processing fees? When pwede mag-renew? A month before the license expires o pwedeng earlier? TIA!!

original and photocopy of birth cert tapos valid id as far as I remember

I applied non pro in San Juan earlier. I was there at 6:30am, went home at 11:45am with my license already. I had drug test in UST last Thursday Tapos sa lto na kanina yung medical. I spent 340 for the drug test, 150 for medical, 168 for written test. 418 for license, 20 pesos for plastic jacket. I was suppose to get assistance from the driving school that I attended. 1800 yung bayad. Namahalan ako. He he... just be there early. Yung practicals, the lto officer just asked me to drive our care from the parking lot to the lto office. Hindi ng a nakita na ako yung nag drive.

Sasamahan Lang sa pagpila. But same procedure pa din.

^ LOL. Ganun lang P1800 na. Yep DIY na lang. Kasi ikaw rin lang naman ang gagawa mostly ng work like taking the exams.

Mga sis, sana may mag reply sakin agad; medyo urgent ang need ko. I had a non-pro license na nag expire nung 2005 at di ko na ni-renew kasi I only got the license for ID purposes at hindi naman talaga ako nagda-drive. Now I bought a car and enrolled in a driving school. I-rerenew ko daw muna ang license ko at mag aaffidavit of loss kasi wala na yung card. 2,200 daw ang "assistance" ng driving school pero hindi pa kasama yung 510 pesos na penalty daw at yung affidavit of loss na mga 100-150 pesos. Di ako pwedeng mag DIY kasi babagsak ako sa practical exam because I don't know how to drive yet. Sa June 2 pa ako mag start ng lessons ko so I need a license before then. Di ako pwedeng mag Sp kasi nga may non-pro na ako sa record ng LTO. The person I bought my car from has a fixer friend (sa LTO Las Pinas ito, near Casimiro). Magkano ang "going rates" sa fixers ngayon? mas makaka mura kaya ako o patulan ko na yung sa driving school ko? Help, please!

Parang ang mahal ng P2200 ng driving school mo. Hehe. More than pangmeryenda nila.

Kung sa akin di ko papatulan ang fixers. Pero ewan ko, wala naman kasi ako sa Manila kaya madali lang lahat sa lugar ko at di ko need ang fixers (dati rin naman kasi matagal sila). Mabilis naman kasi magprocess ang LTO na ngayon sa lugar namin (sa Baguio ako) di tulad ng dati kaya pareho lang ang speed ng fixer at kung ako rin lang ang gagawa (tingin ko lalabas pa ata na mas mabilis ako magprocess, kasi naimprove na ng LTO ang service nila sa amin).

question din sa driving license assistance, 2200 din yung quote nila sa akin, namahalan nga din ako e, wala bang mas mura, hehe, kasi baka hindi ako pumasa sa written at practical kung mag-DIY, gusto ko sana DIY na lang e...magstart pa lang yung driving lesson ko, pag bumagsak ba, gano katagal para mag-apply ulit for non pro?

^We're in the same boat pala sis. And like I said in my post above, KAHIT AYOKONG MAG FIXER WALA AKONG CHOICE kasi nga I can't take the practical exam because I don't know how to drive yet. Pag di naman ako nakakuha ng license, paano akong mag da-driving lessons? Gets nyo ba?

Anyway, I decided not to go through my driving school's "license assistance" muna. Punta muna kami ng LTO sa Monday ni hubby and papa ko kasi may nirefee sa amin dun na empleyado ng LTO pero fixer din. Baka mas mura. I know I'm not helping to end corruption in the country, but I also don't have time to be inconvenienced, pasensya na. Ang alam ko kasi sa LTO samin (and maybe even in other branches) even if you want to do it the legal way (i.e. you'll go through everything including the practical exam), sa fixer ka rin babagsak kasi ibabagsak ka nila sa exam at di ka makakakuha ng license until hindi ka sa fixer dumadaan. Hati kasi yung mga empleyado at fixer sa lagay. It sucks, but that's life.

^sis, kung sa driving lessons ka, pwede na yung student permit, yun lang yung requirement ko sa driving school, pero kung yung hubby mo yung magtuturo, yun ang hindi ko sure kung need mo na ng non pro, hehe

^Sis di nga ako pwedeng student permit kasi mya non-pro na ako na nag expire nung 2005. Thus, may record na ako sa LTO na may non-pro license na ako kaya di na ako pwedeng bumalik sa student permit.
