Ayala Triads ako sis, before under kami ng Adination kami ang Makati area, since wala na na drop na rin ang ANr Ayala na Team name. Madaming running groups as in madami pa ngayon, saan ka ba malapit sa work or at home so I can refer you some running team.

Sige any running groups in our area sis? aside sa Alabang. :-) saka paano magjoin sa snail runners?  :D

Alabang yata ang closest sa iyo sis ah, usually you just need to attend their training sessions, they have Puke sessions withthin the subdivision of Coach Jim Lafferty, one of the mand behind TBRDM. As far as I know only Milo Apex ang may fees na running group. Will try to look for a contact person with Snail Runners

I started running at UST last year, di ako tumagal after 2 weeks coz i've been having shin splints, or sumasakit yung lower inner calf ko. I tried to ignore the pain, thinking na baka it's normal pero i noticed it's getting worse so and di ko na makaya yung sakit pag inaapak ko. So I stopped. Now, nag try ulit ako mag run, same place, i even bought a running shoes, currently, may sumasakit around my calf ko pero di ko pa maconsider kung same ba as before. Praying hard it's not. I'm trying what our other GTalkers here are saying na una mag land dapat ang heels, pero i noticed nauuna ang toes ko, i dunno pero di ko magawa ng maayos yon. huhu, im thinking to join some running teams para na din maturuan ako ng maayos, for now research2 muna ako.

^@junepets sis i had my gait analysis na! Any thoughts about that?

If you have any other suggestion or tip that might help my case, please dont hesitate as i am doing my best for the love of running. HAVE A GOOD DAY!

Sis Serena, iyong barefoot mo na analysis iyon ang natural way of running mo. Noong time na nag suot ka na ng shoes, naiiba ang stride and gait mo depende sa porma ng shoes, kung stability pinasuot sa iyo then Neutral ka magkaka problema ka nga diyan. Try mo mag check ng Brooks, or Newton mismo kasi pang neutral ang shoe design ng Newton iyon nga lang sobrang mahal, or try mo ang Mizuno.

Kung na bother ka pa rin sa Shins mo, google online may mga exercises / stretching for that particular injury

^,^^ agree with sis whitelady...
go for Newton.. or Mizuno cheaper..

ako rin neutral and okay na okay sakin both..
dapat neutral din gamit mo na shoes..

mabigat ang asics sis..
pinakamagaan na na try ko newton..
next is mizuno...

SALAMAT!

^@junepets sis if i may ask alin sa dalawa ang mas okay, MV3 or GRAVITY?

go for mv3 muna..
then gravity..
kasi kung mag run ka talaga.
you need atleast 3 pairs of running shoes...

re your shin splints.. check this:

Hi girls, have you experienced yung burning feeling sa lower leg after running? Napahinto ako magrun dahil dun, di ko talaga kinaya. Beginner lang ako. At nagwarm up naman before running within our block.

Thanks!

^pacheck mo sis, i think it has something to do with blood flow on your lower extremities pag ganon yung sensation.

As for me, i decided to run na ulit after i stopped cos of a broken foot... Very slow progress before i could do weight bearing exercises ulit... But then i had to ask an OB friend if i should be running/jogging na ulit at this point, sad to say i was suggested to skip it first... :( sayang new shoes ko hihi... Walkathon it is!

HI AGAIN! It's been 40 days since my last post here. I would like to say THANK YOU to all of you for helping me and trying your best to answer my questions and for giving advices.. You have no idea how much it helped me. happy to inform you i am still running every TTHS and just last week, i did my first 10km! i never thought id be able to do that! I dont know, sobrang saya kasi achievement na para sa akin yon.. Also, i dont experience shin splints anymore!! GRABE! I think God heard me coz i did pray hard, day and night na mawala na yung pain. Mali pala ang takbo ko dati, i put too much pressure when landing! Good na ako sa 10K, kasi im not aspiring to be a marathoner or runner talaga. My goal is to just lose weight. :) Pansin ko agad after running, lumiit ang tummy ko, minimum i do is 5K max 10k depende sa mood ng katawan ko. I usually run at UST starting at 5AM 3x a week. gusto ko sana mag everyday pero conflict na, weight training and boxing ako on MWFs. NOW, my goal is to do 10K faster or less than an hour, for now, im focusing on running faster, pano ba tamang takbo if you're trying to be faster na, im scared kasi baka bumalik shin ko once i started running faster.
