...........while you were typing." ;D

Thanks for the warm welcome, everyone :D

I have super sensitive skin too but for some reason, Olay clarity facial wash and pond's cream (blue) are the only ones that work for me (buti na lang because it's not as expensive!).

As for drinking water naman for baby, I only used Dr. Edwards for a month and it wasn't exclusive. We would use Wilkins also. Now, I buy Absolut na lang. Much, much cheaper and knock on wood, baby has no complications or illness. Wala pa kaming rotavirus snoosh niyan ha.  Maybe I'm not as OC bec during my older kids' time di pa uso ang mga yan.

J just had her flu vaccine done.  Since it's her first time, pedia says she needs another one done next month. We paid P1200.

Grabe..Warning - while you were typing 18 new replies have been posted. You may wish to review your post.

Pia, yes yun nga sis! Walang e. Okay naman ba shots nya? You think okay sya sa 3k kahit freelancer? Not sure lang if sanay sya sa kiddie parties.

Lisa, kame pala nung 6months na si K, nilipat ko na sya sa dr. Edwards blue cap. Almost 10months din ata kame ng dr. Edwards then ngayon wilkins or absolute nalang. Mas tipid na din.

^hi pia, even with washing of bottles (i don't have a maid nor yaya at the moment and i refuse to get from an agency bec of a bad experience), i only use joy. i used to use kitchenmate only when i had maids but since it's just me, i know how much lang to use.

when j was a newborn, i used baby detergent for washing her clothes. although her clothes are still washed separately from ours, i don't use anything special for her and she has skin asthma and sensitive skin (for which we can only use cetaphil cream and when there's a change in weather, cetaphil cleanser din).  instead of using fabric softener, i use vinegar (datu puti-- yup, it works!).

i hope that you get good weather when you arrive!

Grace, what size of wilkins/absolut do you buy? kasi if it's the big bottles, di ba mahirap to pour it to the feeding bottle? our drinking water is wilkins in the 5 gallon jugs. can i use that din kaya though syempre dadaan sa spout ng water dispenser yon so i'm not sure if that's ok or not.  :-\ kasi if wilkins is ok naman, i will think about switching na to that.

unless the pedia recommends i get dr edwards with fluoride. baby will have her 5-month check up on thursday sabay with 2nd does of rv and pcv. i will ask about the water. i will also ask about formula kasi now she takes similac hw and according to what's written on the can, it's good for babies up to 12 months so i'm not sure if we should switch to stage 2 milk (gain advance?) or not.

i've been trying to convince hubby na ok ang datu puti vinegar for wahsing kasi i always read about your posts nga that you use that. i think you and DV. but for some reason, he thinks everything will smell like datu puti also.  :-\

Pia, di ko alam kung anong expiration. ich-check ko nga.

Van, ayaw mo si zoombox? 6500 with 2 videographers na yon and HD camera.  :)

di pa din ako sinasagot ni apple. weekend, busy siya. if she still doesnt reply by monday, i will text her na.

Dette, saang state ka? i've been to new york once pa lang. my kuya lives there. late october yon and super lamig!!! but i would love go back and see more. i was with my parents kasi then, ay nako, ang bagal maglakad tapos maya't maya gusto umupo o mag restroom kaya wala kaming napuntahan. pikon na pikon kuya ko sa kanila kasi syempre siya sanay mabilis maglakad and all.

i was in orlando naman ng november and i super loved the weather. naka light jacket ako tapos mga pamangkin ko naka shorts at tank top! haha. i have cousins there so spoiled kami pag nandon. mid november naman i was in new jersey. naiwan ako while my parents went to canada, di kasi ako nabigyan ng visa. ay, i would wait sa bus stop for my nieces. super lamig. as in nanginginig ako kahit balot na balot. tapos after that i went to seattle naman for thanksgiving. my gosh. sa ferry to bainbridge island where my tita used to live, jusme. the day after i left for manila, nag-snow sa seattle. sayang di ko inabutan. di pa ako naka-experience ng snow. project US 2013 kami ngayon but most likely spring/summer.

Hi Lisa, we buy the 6 liter size of Absolut drinking water.  Since Avent bottles are wide, it's pretty easy to just pour the water in. The mineral water we consume comes from another water company (Agua Gracia for which we've never gotten sick from and the water has no after taste etc.).  I can't say that it's safe even if it's Wilkins that you're using but comes from a spout... especially for your baby.  You'll get the hang of pouring it ;)

After J turned more than a month old, we switched to Wilkins/Absolute but I made sure that the size we bought were the amount she could only consume within 48 hours.  It was only when she turned 6 months that we started buying the 6 liter jugs. My pedia friend advised me that it's ok as long as baby consumed the opened bottle of water within 48 hours so no need to boil distilled water before giving to baby.

I'm not advising anyone not to have rv given to their child ha!  I just read here that there is one pedia that doesn't advise it (forgot his name).  He only advises it if you are not giving distilled water to your baby.

I'm not so particular with water that contains flouride bec baby takes polyviflor vitamins.

My baby takes Isomil formula otherwise puro na kami spit up.  She's my only child that has a sensitive tummy.  She can take cerelac but not too much or else spit up na naman.

As for our trusty old Datu Puti, hindi ako naghahandwash ng laundry.  I can confirm your clothes wont smell like vinegar if you use it sa washing machine especially kung automatic ang washing machine.  Just pour it into the fab conditioner dispenser or downy ball :)

Grace, thanks for the explanation.

so i need to see muna how long a 6-liter bottle will last, kung kaya to consume within 48 hours. she's 5 months old today but she still takes 40z at a time lang. sometimes kasi she doesn't finish it and sometimes naman, she finishes it fast so i am unsure if i have to start giving her na 5oz. a big bottle of dr edwards lasts us 1.5-2 days. she has one serving of breastmilk in the morning pala. that's all i have eh, enough for one feeding lang that i express the previous day.

maybe i will secretly ask the maid to try the vinegar and if hubby doesn't notice any difference, will continue doing it. though magtataka yon if he sees me buying lots of datu puti when we do our monthly groceries. he knows kasi i don't like sukang puti as sawsawan, i prefer del monte.

we have an automatic washing machine so it shouldn't be a problem naman. how much vinegar per load? ito ba yung 1 guhit sa bottle? was that you said that or si DV?  :-\

i think sa vaccines thread, doc lelet confirmed that if baby is exclusively breastfed, RV is optional. our pedia also said RV is optional but we decided to take it pa din kasi baby's not exclusively breastfed.

will ask the pedia about the water na din when we see her on thursday.

thanks!

very apt your handle - domestic diva ka nga.  ;D
very apt din mine - i'm clueless about so many things.  ;D
