Kim - YanPle charges 3K for PP on the day itself kung below 50K ang cost ng nakuha mo sa kanya. That is, total na ng lahat lahat (ex: party host+cake+side entertainment+giveaways etc etc).

Tin - re mychocolate heaven, 3500 daw ang minimum for dessert station.

Weng - sis, paki-braso! LOL! siya na talaga get ko for my dessert station. Ano feedback mo? Baka naman di masarap, back-out ako!

jen, thanks for the info and happy fifth month to your baby! baka magDIY na lang ako sa party planning if that's the case. i don't think aabot ako ng 50k sa kanya eh. baka the most 20K lang nga eh kasi very minor na lang naman kukunin ko sa kanya.

ako naman, i'm thinking if maganda ba ang sleeping beauty na theme. it's soooo katie kasi eh. antukin. actually, nagmana lang siya samin ng daddy niya. pareho din kasi kami sleepyhead.

Marcia, hindi ko sure kung ganyan sa progressive.  Magkaiba ang Montessori sa progressive kasi very distinct ang philosophy ni Maria Montessori.  Pati ang Montessori prepared environment (the classroom) and materials, iba rin sa regular schools.  Pero some of the methods in Montessori may be similar to the methods in progressive schools.

Ang unang nakikita kong pagkakaiba yung levels.  May levels usually sa progressive schools, usually by same age range magkakasama sa isang classroom.  Magkakaedad ang mga bata sa classroom.  Sa Montessori, 2 1/2-6 years old, ito ang nakita kong pagkakaiba at maganda based on my observation sa classroom visits namin pati sa changes sa kids ko with how they interact with older kids.

Sa Montessori, ideally, yung teacher/directress ng student pagtuntong niya sa school, yun pa rin teacher niya up to the time na mag-move up siya.  May progression kasi pati sa relationship nila.  Sa progressive, pag nag-progress sa next level ang student, baka iba na ang teacher niya.

Walang worksheets sa Montessori.  May sarili silang materials. 

Here's a typical Montessori day:

8-9 am- student works on materials in the classroom.  Student chooses his own materials.  Teacher is there to present new materials or guide the student in case of misuse of materials.  Generally, the child is focused on his tasks during this work period.  Teacher merely oversees that each child under her supervision is making good use of his time.
 This is called the uninterrupted work period and this is highly regarded in Montessori's teachings.

9-9:30 am- snack time, food preparation time

The children are encouraged to feed themselves, clear the tables by themselves, clean up, pee, etc. all by themselves with minimum assistance from teachers.  This worked really well with my kids.  After two months of preschool, they no longer needed to be fed by the yaya.

10 am onwards (not sure kung gaano katagal) - circle time, teacher presents a "lesson" depending on the theme for the week, cultural arts, etc.
11 am ang dismissal time nila.

kim, naisip ko kung sleeping beauty theme niya, parang mahirap iexecute. and yes, add mo si bunny baker sa FB tapos check mo albums niya. baka mainspire ka sa themes.

twelvth_goddess, okay sana if outdoors no. hanap ka ng garden venue or kahit pool party na may konting garden sa side. okay din yan tapos try mo incorporate yung "going green"/recycling initiative. baka pwedeng may activity na magplant sila ng monggo (very old school) hahha basta something about taking care of our environment.   

may nakita akong isang theme ng friend ko, Paris theme. yung giveaways nya, parang longchamp Eiffel tower na pouch (mala cosmetic bag). leaning din yung eiffel. ang cute!

LOL yung proby na sinasabi ni lia nasa thread 3 nito. nagcomment kasi sa post ko.. oo nga, samin sa OB noon ideally same age kami per level. pero yung schedule na dinescribe ni marose, ganun na ganun kami dati. materials, break, circle time.

Marcia, ang alam kong Montessori schools near Pasig is Abba's Orchard along Katipunan-Blue Ridge and Philippine Montessori Center in White Plains (saksakan ng mahal dito at single payment scheme lang).  Mother Goose Playskool should be Montessori also but not sure now.  Magtatanong ako sa teacher ng anak ko kung may alam siya within Pasig.

Yung mixed aged classroom, hanggang elementary ganoon ang set-up sa Centro Montessori (yung grade school na kino-consider ko kung hindi kami sa traditional boys' school).  Mas madali kong ma-imagine ngayon after being a Montessori parent for a year.  Raves ang co-parents ko sa school na iyan so I will check it out for myself kapag nag-open house sila.

Btw, familiar ba kayo sa Enderun Extension summer programs?
They have Little Chef course for as low as P6k! Kaso sayang kasi 4 years old ang minimum age nila. Tsaka parang too young pa nga for my daughter. Na-excite lang ako.
