To all BPI Family Checking Acctholders: May bayad ba yung atm card na kasama when applying for checking acct? Kasi missing ng 500 pesos yung balance ko, eh sinobrahan ko na nga yun ng 175 pesos for the checkbook. Wala naman nakalagay dun sa transaction activity.

^Kakaopen mo lang, sis? The P500 is BPI's buffer, in case you close the account within a month of opening. After one month, magrereflect na yang P500 on your account.

And bakit ayaw nila ng may limit for checks? like yung nabasa ko na 3 lang yung limit per month?
Need ko kasi mag issue ng 36 checks to developer, so kung may limit na 3, hindi ko pwede maissue yung 36 checks all in one go? (haha sensya na first time ko kasi mag apply ng checking)

Pwede naman na mag issue ka ng post dated checks pero ppondohon mo siya before nung date na nilagay mo sa check diba? Mga ilang days bago magreflect yun? Baka kasi madelay, magbounce yung check, katakot naman yun.

Paano ko din po malalaman na winithdraw na ni developer yung check? Makikita ko na lang sa online account ko na bawas na? Wala ba receipt or any proof?

Nagbasa din ako ng tips online, ask ko lang bakit....?
Avoid writing checks that are payable to CASH. -Ano dapat ilagay ko?
Cross your checks (which means it can only be deposited to a bank account) whenever possible. -Paanung cross?

The 36 checks are PDC's, right? You can issue them all at the same time. Per month naman pasok ng developer.

Of course, you need to fund your CA before pumasok ang cheke. You issued the check in good faith. Di pa naman bouncing, some banks will call you na pondohan na pero me fine na rin yun. If same bank dineposit, same day ang clearing (kung pasok sa cut-off). Pag paid to "Cash" kasi, it's good as cash. Kahit sino magpa-encash, pwede.

Sa BPI, makikita mo all transactions online. And kung me paper statement ka, me photocopy ng check na na-encash/deposited.

If your payroll is BPI, very convenient na BPI na rin CA mo. Just use expressonline sa pag-transfer. Hassle-free...

^Thanks sis ikaela and greyzie. Yup kakaopen ko lang sa bpi family. Tinawagan ko lahat ng banks na may lowest maintaining starting from East west 1k, lahat gusto ng may existing account ka muna sa kanila pati Citystate 1.5k interest earning checking. I called up at least 2 branches per bank (one near where I live and where I work). Although kung wala ka talaga kahit anong existing acct sa kahit anong bank, Citystate will do pero dapat daw yung 5k yung maintaining ang iopen not the 1.5k, yun ang sabi ng bank officer na nakausap ko over the phone.

^sis, ako i was able to open the citymax account sa citystate kahit wala akong account sa kanila. dipende ata yan sa branch e. ang hirap lang kasi sa citystate, hindi ganun kadami ng branches near me.

Hello. I need to open a checking account para pambayad sa suppliers for our wedding  kaso when we asked bdo parang subject for approval pa nila. Andon kasi bank account namin pareho ni fiance. Nung nagpunta o nung Jan.2 sabi i need 1 month pa para ma apply yung checking account and yun nga subject for approval pa

When my then-fiance-now husband applied for a joint checking account (non-interest earning) sa BPI Family to pay for our suppliers, we were only asked 2 valid IDs and 1x1 pictures each. My husband already had a savings account with this branch so we were approved the same day din. I just couldn't remember if we got our checkbook on the same day din (parang same day din namin nakuha kasi no need na for our names to be printed on the checks, yung account number lang namin). Yung ATMs binalikan talaga namin.

We also "linked" husband's savings account to our checking account so our checks can be automatically funded by a savings account (di ko lang tanda kung ano specifically ang tawag dito, this option was offered to us kasi when we applied). Para lang sure na funded lahat ng i-issue naming checks although pwede rin mag-transfer ng funds nga manually via bpiexpressonline.

BPI Family also called us everytime we issue checks more than P50,000 to verify/confirm.

Using this joint checking account, we were also able to deposit our gift checks agad from our wedding. May mga nag-issue kasi na Bride's Maiden name and/or Groom's name. Meron ding Couple's name with groom's surname. We only presented yung marriage contract from the church and na-update na yung account namin. And yes, pag "cash" kasi ang nakasulat sa payee, anyone can deposit or encash the check. We received these kind of checks from our guests so we deposited it agad.

Tried EastWest,  although it would have to take a few days for them to do a background check or whatever it is they need to check before approving you a basic checking account. But not bad for a 1k maintaing balance.

maybank 2k lang maintaining balance though hindi ganun kadami un branch nila but what i like about sa bank na eto super friendly ng branch manager and staff at since unti lang din un clients nila pagpunta mo ng bank na served ka kagad, no long queue and waiting time

I've opened a PS Bank checking account recently. Required kasi ako ng  PAGIBIG to issue PDC for my housing loan. Mabilis lang and walang masyado tanong nung sinabi ko na I need it for PAGIBIG. 5k minimum deposit and maintaining balance.

BDO: We find ways to ANNOY you. Lol. - Sorry, OT. Laki lang din inis namin ni hubby sa BDO and a lot of other friends based on their personal experiences din.

Anyway, eyeing on opening a checking account sa PSBank, minimum is 5k pero wala pa akong account sa kanila. Interested talaga sana ako sa BPI dahil very convenient ang system nila and thumbs up ako sa customer service kaya lang taas ng maintaining.

Maintaining balance for BPI family savings checking account is only php5,000.

You can use BPI express online to fund transfer funds from your  enrolled bpi ATM or bpi family ATM to this checking account.

To fund the check, you need to deposit to bpi family only.  Unless you'll deposit to your bpi ATM then fund transfer online to your bpi family checking account.

However if you'll deposit the check to a bpi account, it follows the standard clearing period.

Unlike the bpi check if deposited to bpi account, clearing is real time.

hay naiinis pa rin ako sa bdo. kahit 10 years na nila akong client with more than 50k adb ay parang ayaw nila akong bigyan ng checking. kesyo ano daw ba ang dahilan ko kung bat ako magoopen ng checking... na matagal daw ang processing. what the. i deserve better. to think ang habaaaa lagi ng pila sa kanila.

So true! I was a very long-term client na din before at may time deposit pa ako bukod sa savings, but no, weeks passed at hindi pa rin nila ako in-approve for a checking account, eh kailangan ko na yun para sa rent ng condo. Hindi ko alam kung bakit, no definite explanation was given. Anyway, went to BPI na lang after that and I was given a checking account that very same day, to think na ang liit lang naman ng laman ng savings account ko sa kanila compared nung nasa BDO and a year or so ago ko pa lang in-open yung account na yun.

Hindi na ako depositor ng BDO ngayon. Nakakastress sila minsan.

Yesterday nag open ako ng checking account sa bdo. Hindi kami nagkaintindihan kala ko kasi yung savings account namin pwede lagyan ng check di inexplain ng ayos. So ayun 2 pa account namin today. Hassle pa

Sa ucpb, I only have 1 account, and it has a checkbook and passbook and atm. It's multi-one.
