I opened mine at bpi family savings since 5k din ang difference with bpi, despite all my accounts are from bpi. Pero still I can make the transfer online from my bpi to my bpi family savings checking account. Very convenient talaga. I love bpi!

May option sa expressonline na add new account tapos lagay mo lang yung acct no ng checking acct mo tapoa ayun lalabas na yung account mo and then you can start the usual transfers. Ang galing lang.

^Yes.  I opened my family bank checking account same as BPI.  Pero if you have BPI account, mas madali na although they still required IDs though.

i have a BPI savings (not family) though payroll ko siya. if i will open sa BPI family, will they require me to have a separate savings account other than the payroll?

^mabilis lang ang processing sis. ako din i don't have bpi family savings pero ang hiningi na lang sakin are:

- government-issued ID
- company ID
- 1 ID picture (2x2 pinasa ko pero okay na 1x1)

Baka okay lang na payroll account kasi at least may existing record ka na sa kanila.

^oh nice! sige, i'll open by the end of this month. dati kasi when i inquired parang they also asked for a billing statement from utility ata. can't remember. but i'll inquire nalang din agad. i hope same requirements as you nalang din para madali

i guess any bank na meron kang existing account kasi mas madali makipagtransact pag kilala ka na nila. with online banking feature also, i think most banks meron na ganitong facility

pero para dun sa baguha, search muna kayo dun sa may mababang maintaining balance. sa BPI kasi 10K, sa chinabank nasa 5K lang

Bpi family savings bank...its very convenient...and you can have online or mobile banking as well...

so far pinakamababang bank talaga na maintenance and opening is citystate, 1500 lang. ang hassle lang kasi konti lang ang branches niya.

Thanks sa infos.. Tanong lang, [textspeak!] SA ko sa BDO, monthly remittance ang pumapasok dun, pede ba yun ipaconvert into current account, if yes, ano kaya requirements? Kasi I'm preggy and soon cannot go out na to withdraw and pay all the payables. So check sana naisip ko para kahit magpabayad na lang, parang ayaw ko naman ipaubaya kung kanino ATM ko para makipawithdraw hehe.. TIA!

^--- you can't convert your SA per se into a CA.  You have 2 options:

1.  Close the SA and open a new CA.  Divert the Remittance to the CA.

2.  Maintain your SA and open another CA.  Link them together online.  But of course you would need to maintain a separate maintenance balance for each.  But if i'm right, there's no maintaining balance if your SA with BDO is a Kabayan/OFW account.

It's always wise to keep a separate SA and CA.  CA don't earn interest.  If you want it to earn interest, you would need to put in large maintenance amount on it.  Just keep the right amount on the CA.  Transfer money to it as you issue checks from your SA.  That way, your money would still earn interest (kahit super liit) on SA and still keep the CA charge free.

To maximize the convenience, dapat ang CA mo ay same bank as your SA where your main source of fund goes.  Tapos online or mobile na lang lahat.

Hi sisses, our payroll is thru BPI, is that considered as savings account when applying for BPI family checking? (Laging zero out to kasi winiwithdraw ko din after pay day)

And bakit ayaw nila ng may limit for checks? like yung nabasa ko na 3 lang yung limit per month?
Need ko kasi mag issue ng 36 checks to developer, so kung may limit na 3, hindi ko pwede maissue yung 36 checks all in one go? (haha sensya na first time ko kasi mag apply ng checking)

Pwede naman na mag issue ka ng post dated checks pero ppondohon mo siya before nung date na nilagay mo sa check diba? Mga ilang days bago magreflect yun? Baka kasi madelay, magbounce yung check, katakot naman yun.

Paano ko din po malalaman na winithdraw na ni developer yung check? Makikita ko na lang sa online account ko na bawas na? Wala ba receipt or any proof?

Nagbasa din ako ng tips online, ask ko lang bakit....?
Avoid writing checks that are payable to CASH. -Ano dapat ilagay ko?
Cross your checks (which means it can only be deposited to a bank account) whenever possible. -Paanung cross?

^sis, you can ask your payroll if they opened a savings or payroll account sa BPI. iba ata kasi pag current account.

with your question regarding the number of cheques a bank would allow you to issue in a month, better ask din the bank you plan to open a checking account with.
