^ freelancer kami pareho ng husband ko. we availed yung family plan sa medicard, annual lang ang mode of payment available. pero 19000++ for me, hubby and our 16 month old baby girl is a good deal. plan 800 sya. walang asian, tmc, mmc or st luke's global which is okay lang sa amin since cavite based kami.

we signed up online, tapos we got an email with instructions on payment- credit card or over the counter sa unionbank ata. we paid using our credit card.
tapos we got another email confirming na okay na yung payment.
after less than a week, we have our cards na.

and since mabigat din kahit papano yung one time annual payment, in apply ko sya for installment sa card ko after the credit posted.

^wala ba silang monthly payment mode or quarterly? masyadong mabigat yung one time payment for me eh..

I have Sunlife VUL (Flexilink) as my life insurance now. I opted not to have an HMO or medical insurance, as I haven't found a good one that fits me (I have two senior-citizen parents depending on me, and most HMOs covers up to 60 or 65 only) - instead, I decided to increase my emergency fund to 9 to 12 months of expenses.

Not that I'm saying Sunlife is the best, or the best one for me. I think a term life insurance, instead of a VUL would suffice. I realized I like to hand-pick investment instruments than paying a larger premium on VUL quarterly. But I have trust on Sunlife - either for them to pay me for the cash value at age 88 when the policy matures, or let it easy on my beneficiaries to claim the proceeds in case something happens to me.

Im very satisfied with Pru Life. I have three policies with them, term insurance for protection and VUL for investment and more health riders. .

It's good to note that some have more than 2 life insurance policies:)

If, for example hubby and I will get 2 policies for both of us - should we both get 1 term & 1 vul each or 2 vul each? Goal is for protection, savings/ investment.

I have my traditional plan with PELAC (Philam Equitable Life Assurance Company),  done paying for it, 5 years to pay lang. got it in 2007.  So if ever kunin na ko ni lord :) It wont be a hassle sa mga maiiwan ko. Di na nila problemahin burial expense. hehe.

I also got a 2 pension plan from Sunlife Financial Plans in 2001. done paying na rin. It's the preneed company of sunlife. I will get the maturity value on my age 47 & 55. Got it when im 26/27.

Right now, I am thinking of getting an endowment product from Manulife, yung Freedom at age 65 nila. Yung inoffer sa kin ay 5 years to pay then on the 7th year may makukuha na ako then every other year meron na rin. Then age 65, may makukuha ako na lumpsum. Then while waiting for my age 65, may insurance na rin sya. So if ever  I'll expire before I turn 65, the insurance coverage will be given to my beneficiary but if I reached 65, I'll get a guaranteed amount plus accumulated dividends.  I was also inform that  the plan will be repriced by April kaya dapat daw kumuha na ko by March. Im not sure if this is just a strategy. hehe. Hopefully, I'll get enough funds by March para makapag-annual payment but if not baka semi-annual or quarterly nalang.

Since Im not a risk taker when it comes to investment, I am not a VUL fan.

Pcensya na kung napahaba ang sagot ko. hth

Going annual always gives better value than other modes. You could start with semi-annual o quarterly then have a mode change to annual next year Another thing to maximize value is to have your face amount in the upper band. May other option ka pa like going 10pay instead of 5pay. BTW, ang death benefit mo is 2x the face amount.

hubby and i are thinking of getting a retirement/pension plan or something na pwede may monthly kami matatanggap in our old age or when retired. nag try ako nung online computation sa philam na ganito details:
age range: 30-35
monthly na makukuha at age 55: 5k/month for 10years
annual payment for 10years: 44k
para kay hubby nabababaan siya sa returns. mayroon ba kayo alam na may better returns? thanks

^parang ganyan ang nakuha ko rin, from Insular naman, it is called Aspire 60. retirement fund ko rin  ;)

Face Value: 500k
10years to pay

Insurance Coverage:
1st - 4th year 500k
5th - 60th 1M

Cash Endowments:
Age 53-56 = 10% of 500k = 50k yearly
Age 57-59 = 20% of 500k = 100k yearly
Age 60 = 100% of 500k = 500k

^sis  juicy magkano ang babayaran annually for 10years para diyan sa 500k face value nang aspire60? also the cash endowments does that mean kahit kinukuha ko sila every year (para din siyang cash payout tama) lalaki pa din when i you turn 57? kase for other plans lalaki lang sila kapag hindi mo kinukuha
