Thanks A BIGGIE Sis flexusob! That really helped a lot. Naku how I wish pwede na si baby ng ganun. Unfortunately, by the time she'll take the interview/test -- she'll be barely 3.  Baka I'm just too excited. Would it be better kaya to wait another year (pero baka naman too late na yun coz she'll be 4 naman.)

^ maybe you can have apply and have her interviewed in February or March. They still accept naman but if your child is accepted, the only available slots are the PM classes na.  The AM classes get filled up early.

hello mommies, need help...we're going to CSA on Thursday for her interview...actually incoming prep sana but according to Prep Department, with her age, dapat Grade 1 na so will try the Grade School Department  first. Normally ba for Grade 1 level, what are the usual questions? Do they also interview the parents? I'm a bit worried because my daughter is super shy but academically, she's good naman...

^ i think the interview will be held at the Guidance counselor's office (it was held there last year when my friend's daughter was interviewed).  May written assessment yata but I don't think they make it seem like a test.  Short time lang sya. No more than an hour yata.  No interview for the parents.

Nice naman ng preschool if they voluntarily told you that she can apply for Grade 1 instead of Prep. Siguro kung sa ibang school yan, they would insist pa that she take Prep first. Extra income sa tuition din yan.

Glad to see some CSA moms here I'm an Augustinian and CSA is a great place to put your kids in. Pricey, but hey, what schools now aren't diba?

^ I agree. Actually, it's still cheaper than the other private  schools that offer quality education.  My hubby and I are happy with CSA because we can see that the money we pay for school fees are well spent.

oh dear! i wished i had bumpled into this thread earlier!!! 
actually, CSA is my top choice for my daughter kaso hubby likes to put her in an all-girl school...

she's now in Gr.1 but still sa CSA ko padin siya gusto..
to be honest, gusto ko siya ilipat dito... i just have some disappointments sa current school nya..
ang pricey nga lang!!! hehe...

question lang, have you heard of any bullying issues in CSA? any experience?

^ I think in all schools naman, whether co-ed or exclusive boys/girls schools, there  will always be bullying issues.  It may be that the child is the bully or the one being bullied.  In CSA, there are talks and symposia held for both students and parents regarding this issue.

Personally, I teach my daughter to stand up for what is right and to never be afraid if someone attempts to bully her. I create scenarios for her and give her tips on what she should do.  As parents, we should empower our children to stand up not just to bullies but for what is right and to remind them not to be bullies, too.  You would be surprised but there are fathers (and maybe mother, too) who teach their sons to bully their classmates.

joining...just went to CSA and so happy that my daughter passed the exam as Grade 1. she's currently in senior kinder and turning prep sana, buti naman the CSA suggested to have her exam for Grade 1 instead of Prep since she will be turning 6 on April next year.... now, we're thinking about the tuition fee, kasi enrollment na daw....ganun ba talaga kaaga? sabi ko nga sa registrar, kaka-get ko lang ng result that she passed tapos they're asking me na about the enrollment... anyway, bottom line is we're happy...kasi we re really want CSA for her...

^congrats sis!  you'll be happy with CSA as we are.  As for enrollment, if that's the advisory, then maybe you should enroll her na.  Baka maraming applicants?

@domestic diva - thank you sis! pwede kaya dun semestral payment for new students...mabigat kasi for now 'coz im giving birth this November...kung sana nga next year kaya...kaso yun nga need to enroll na daw and 1 month lang extension....

@yani:  I find it so odd talaga bakit ka nila sinisingil kaagad sa enrollment... Maybe you can ask if you can just give a reservation fee kasi manganganak ka.  I don't even recall giving any amount last year (unless nag-epidural moment na naman ako).  Nag-early enrollment kami pero vacation na rin lahat ng schools then.  Walang mawawala kung magtanong ka sis.  Baka misunderstanding lang, I hope?

@domestic diva - i called na sis...lalo ako naguluhan....

I called the Registrar first sabi nila from the endorsement slip, will be given 1 month to pay for the enrollment. They don't mention about reservation or anything...then I called Accounting as suggested by Registrar, dun sa 1 month, we need to pay 5K reservation non-refundable...ang labo!!!! sabi ko nga hindi pa dapat written yun and not only verbal like kahit sa baba nung tuition fees na binibigay nila na we need to pay reservation fee, etc. lalo ako naguguluhan...hindi tally yung sinabi nung both depts. then nung ni ask ko ulit registrar, bigla kung ano daw sinabi nung accounting...

finally, i called the Grade School Dept. so medyo clear na...so Accounting ang susundin ko...we need to pay the 5K for reservation pero valid 1 month lang...then if after a month at hindi kami makapag-enroll and we still pursue to enroll her, will be on waiting list of there's available slot...but no need for her to take again the exam since we have the endorsement slip...


@  jaiaquino - sis, the rate is 81K+ tapos you have options to pay annual, semestral or monthly...

@yani: maybe kami kasi feb na kami nakapag-take ng exam kaya april na kami nag-enroll.. semi-annual ako ngayon.  our tuition this year is  P89k and P99k for grade school and high school.

Mga sis, is CSA a good school to prepare your child to study abroad in the future? Plan kasi namin sa overseas magaral ng college daughter namin, gusto kasi namin yung papasukan nyang school dito sa pinas eh will prepare her well like good english skills and siguro kahit papano may mga foreigners syang classmates para hindi naman sya maculture shock pagdating abroad. Thanks!

^IMO, sis, yes, CSA is a good school.  I am very happy with CSA.  I'm sure kahit papaano, your child will feel the difference of having classmates from different nationalities and cultures.  Konti lang naman ang foreigners per class. 

As to prepare her for college, I am confident that your child will excel in her college.

If you want more foreigners in her class, then perhaps Beacon, Brent, IS, British School, etc. is the school you are looking for.

few questions lang:
1) do they accept transferees? incoming grade 2.
2) how much ang TF for grade 2? is it the same for all grade level? - important factor itoh... 
3) if not too much, may i know the subjects offered by CSA for gr. 1 and also gr.2.
(current school is using Singaporean Math, is it the same @ CSA?)

i would just like to assess a little... i'm contemplating on something lang.

This is a really helpful thread.  I'm still following the posts even if our baby is still too young to get in. (We just have to wait a wee bit more.)

I just want to ask sana how many hours usually ang Toddlers/Nursery class?

We're about an hour away from Makati (half via Skyway); and I'm thinking if it's wiser to get our baby into a playschool near our place first if the Toddlers class is just 2 hours. Then enroll her in CSA when she's ok for Kinder level (when classes hopefully are longer and have more subjects)
