yes sis, sabi nung nephew ko...though hindi na sila aabutan kasi 3rd year high school na sya now.

I called CSA and as early as Sept. 1 they accept new enrolees na. Call muna daw ako before I go there...yikes aga! sana payment sa tuition fee hindi naman this year...

@ domestic diva -http://www.femalenetwork.com/girltalk/Smileys/default/sad.gif everyday is baon day for my kids    I used to buy 2 PE shirts para may extra shirt but for the past year and for this year, her PE is  special PE class (swimming) so no need for a PE shirt.  I still bought her 1, though.

Hay, abot na abot ang 2 kids ko ng additional years.  Sana maabot din naman ang tuition fees nila

CSA General Parents' Orientation scheduled for tomorrow has been moved to next Saturday,  July 2, 2011.

^thanks sis for the update! pumunta ako sa website and natuto akong mag-download ng weekly newsletter nila. hahaha!

bumili na rin pala si hubby ng extra PE shirt para pampalit. ayaw ni bagets mag-special PE pa. maybe next year daw. she wants to experience regular school activities first. supportive naman ako of her decision.

they didnt accept my kid first kasi di pa kame kasal ng father that time. and nakiusap ako sabi lang sa akin is, your son will be better served by other school. so after we got married my hubby told me to ask inquire again since sya kasi xavier baby sya. i told him no. not after i-discriminate anak ko ng school nila. they don't accept kids born out of wedlock, illegitimate and the likes

Most of my friends CSA, I think di naman required na Catholic sya. In fact I like this school kasi di sila nandi discriminate ng mga kids out of wedlock, magkalive in lang ang parents.

Unlike sa Xavier na di tinanggap ang son ko nung nag inquire pa lang kame kasi di pa kame kasal ng daddy. And after begging sagutin ba naman ako ng " Your son will be best served by other school". When we went to CSA and inquire na shock rin sila sa nangyari. Ang sabi nga nila, every kid has their own right for best education regardless of their birth right.

Kaya two thumbs up ako sa school na to.

no they will not be required to attend.

^ CSA is open to all religions. In fact, I noticed that during the orientation last Saturday,  they used Christian education and not Catholic education to describe CSA education.

Students have to attend CLE class, though, and the lessons are based on Catholic teachings. I think this is non-negotiable and we parents should be aware of this and by enrolling our children there, we tacitly agree to this. I, for one, am okay with it because it will also provide my children a view of the Catholic faith. I was raised Catholic and I credit CSA (aside from my parents) for creating and instilling in me a solid foundation of Christian values.

We are Christians but my daughter usually gets assigned to be the reader during Mass.  I let her attend it. Usually, the non- Catholics wold still be asked to join the class during Mass but they are not required to participate.

Last year,  she was asked to be a reader during the First Holy Communion and when the teacher remembered that she wasn't Catholic, she told my daughter not to participate in the First Holy Communion anymore becuse "your mommy might get mad".  E okay lang naman sa akin for her to rcive communion  .  They respect your religious choices.

I had my daughter baptized in the Catholic church because we really wanted her to study in an established traditional school and most of the good ones are Catholic schools. I was worried that they might ask for a Baptismal certificate during registration but CSA didn't. Birth cert lang hiningi.

We're okay naman with her learning about Catholic teachings.
Worry ko lang yung ma-insecure siya sa beliefs niya, if may discrimination against her kapag hindi siya sasali sa rites.

awww... i am happy that you found out that CSA exists.. and my bestfriend from CSA is non-Catholic pero I dont think nagkaron sya ng issues with that.. very open ang CSA sa kahit na sino..

Yeah I am glad my friend suggested it to me. He simply said " Why not just enroll your son at CSA? We don't discriminate kids there based on their birth right.". So I immediately went there and inquire, I am glad they are very much willing to accept my son and was shocked with what I experienced from Xavier knowing this is also a Catholic school.

Question ulit, please.  The answer given to me was a bit vague kasi when I called CSA (Siguro they have policies against giving out too much admission info.)

-- What's the "least" expectation when it comes to new preschooler/toddler? Are there tests that must be passed? Will the entry level be determined by the test results or the applicant's age? For example, if our child just turned 3, but she aced the PreK test -- will she be admitted to the Nursery, and not the Toddlers, level?

^ if your child is in the 'alanganin' age like less than 3.6 years for Nursery 2, you can ask if they will consider her for Nursery 2. There will be a paper given to you with your choice of interview date and your preferred school level.  The secretary will note the age and birthdate of the child and put the word 'TRY' beside the grade level (at least that was the case for us).   On the day of the interview, you will give this paper to the teacher/staff who will interview your child.  There aren't any tests to be given but there is an interview with the child.

The interview will be held inside the pre-school library and parents are not allowed inside.  The usual scenario would be:  the teacher will ask the child to build a tower with blocks, ask about colors, and basically just talk to the child and observe.  I know this because my daughter who is now in Grade 3 (and who is mature for her age) told me about it and my son, who had his interview last year, said the same thing. 

Both my kids were less than 3.5 years when they entered Nursery and they were accepted despite this.  I wasn't worried about my daughter being able to pass the interview but I worried when it was my son's turn because at the age of three,  he is a baby compared to his sister when she was that age.  Bulol pa nga e while my girl could speak in straight sentences by the time she was two.  Fortunately, the teacher who interviewed my son assured me na okay lang na bulol. 

The secretary of the pre-school department told me that there are some parents who insist that their child be accepted in Nursery 2 despite the school's assessment that the child is not ready for it. In these cases, they allow the child to be enrolled in Nursery 2 but they let the parents sign a waiver that if the child cannot keep up with the activities, the school may put the child back to Nursery 1.
