CSA Makati Enrollment

My hubby saw Father Rodriguez with all the school children gathered around him.  He's still the principal.

Mrs. Basilio is now the assistant principal or naabutan niyo na bang si Mrs. Basilio as the AP? She was still a teacher when hubby went there.. hahaha.. nakakahalata na ang mga age!

Anyway, I'm excited for my kids to attend CSA also. I can't wait to check out their extra curricular activities.  We're coming from a progressive school.  My kids didn't have space as big as CSA offers.

^ Fellow Augustinian pala namin ni sis yapeegurl ang husband mo   .  Father Rodriquez was the principal already back when I was grade 1 and until now, siya pa rin.  He is considered an icon and you would know if the parents of the students are graduates of CSA, too, because they get a strong urge to 'mano' to him.  I know I do but I fight the urge 
Mrs. Basilio used to be the Science teacher in HS (ask your hubby kung tama ang subject from what I remember) and is now the Assistant Principal.  Ms. Amelia Ronquillo is still the GS Assistant Principal (from circa 1980s to the present time).  Ms. Lacson is now the Pre-School Principal.  She used to be a Science teacher during my time.

@ yapeeugrl - who wouldn't know and remember Mrs. Laig?  My friend and I were recipients of her ire back in Grade 6.  She is now retired and when I got married and moved to my husband's village, who did I see but my 'favorite' Mrs. Laig who lives on our street.  I never bothered introducing myself to her, though   
It was during my time that the LRT started to be built and we got to enjoy it before we graduated.  Hindi na LRT ang tawag sa canteen ngayon.  The gym has been newly renovated and the swimming pool is much nicer with a kid's pool added.

It's actually nice to read about memories you had there. Mas nakaka-enganyo na I-enroll ko daughter ko there eventually.

^thanks, sis! I think CSA produces well-rounded students naman (bilog na ako ngayon  ). Of course, the school has its strengths and weaknesses but what school doesn't? I am happy to say that I enjoyed my CSA years.  Well, I don't have any other school to compare it with rin naman since it was the only school I went to for PS-HS.

In the future, I might consider (might lang ha) transferring my daughter to an all girls school for HS (just to challenge her to think and study again - from my experience kasi if teachers know you're a good student, they tend to go easy on you).

I know I am a bit biased ( ) but I am proud to say that CSA is a very good foundation for your children. Speech skills ko was enhanced at CSA. Grammar, pronunciation, spelling.. Lalo pa ngayon na I am working abroad, I am very pleased when they commend my English. Sometimes I receive requests from our clients to assist them instead of my counterpart kasi they understand me well than them daw.

Is CSA considered as traditional teaching or progressive?

^i asked hubby if he had mrs. laig as a teacher but he doesn't remember her. it's only mrs. basilio that he remembers as a teacher. did you have your daughter's uniform custom made? if so, may i please have the contact number?

FLEXUSOB - Iagree with you I do hope that the special interest classes be incorporated within the school hours. Say, for those who will enroll in voice, violin, etc they should be able to have this class during their music class. Or those who would like to train for sports must have the classes during PE time. That way, the kids do not need to spend extra hours in school. JUst like i my son's case, we would really like to enroll him to football/soccer but since he goes to/fro school in a school bus, we can't. We cant take him to/fro school naman since we are both working.

My son will be grade 1 next year and he is very happy with CSA. He has a lot of good stories to tell. He loves it there.

Domestic Diva - ayaw mo bumili nalang ng uniform at the bookstore? I find it really convenient . Since school uniform nman, it need not be tailor fit since the uniform has to be comfotable (medyo maluwag) and hindi naman talaga fit (just like when wearing suits, i hope you get what I mean). Oh well, maybe it's just me, I'm a busy mom and I really take advantage of this convenience. heheh

Are you the same mom asking about stroller bag? My son is currently in prep and yes he uses a stroller bag. In fact we learned our lessons, dapat yung pinakamalaking stroller bag pala. ang dami nilang gamit.

Lastly for the tuition, i saw someone put PHP87,000 for prep. Actually nag increse na almost 100k. nag adjust ng tuition, mid-year. So I guess, they will do the same strategy this time. tee hee!

Over all, I am a happy CSA Parent.

^yes sis frenzied, i'm the same mom who asked about the stroller bag   what about for the higher grades? i'm sure they don't use stroller bag na, knap sack na lang?  any brand?

as for the uniforms, i'll check it out at the bookstore. you're right, it should have allowance.  we're coming from a school that doesn't have uniform except for certain days that's why i'm not used to uniforms.

how much did you guys pay for the csa car sticker? 
how much is the dasma, bel-air, forbes sticker?

Regarding the sticker, we only got the csa sticker, i cannot recall how much exactly but more or less php500. Ang mahal ng dasma sticker, actually ang daming nagreklamo daw na parents but well if you will bring and fetch ur kiddo daily pwede na, php1500 if im mot mistaken. I hope they wont increase further this year.

For gradeschoolers, im not very sure what they bring. My son will be in G1 and his busmates from GS brings strollerbags too. Im sure the older students would prefer to bring backpack or smaller bags. Last day tom sa PS.

^so Dasma sticker is around P1500.  Still cheaper than Wakwak sticker, sis (P2k!) and Greenhills sticker (P700-1k up).  At least, intervillage sticker na rin siya.  We'll see

@ domestic diva - I bought my daughter's uniform at the bookstore but this year, I am thinking of having it made by a seamstress we know. My daughter is quite big and rounded for her age and the ready made skirts do not fit her nicely anymore. I think it's okay to buy at the bookstore if your daughter is on the normal, average size for age.

^do you think the bookstore might have the numbers of any seamstress that knows how to sew the csa uniform well?

^ it's worth asking but I doubt if they will give you the number of their seamstress since they re selling for profit. Maybe you can ask if they can take the measurements of your dughter and have a set sewn especially for her.

Ask ko lang, may public transpo ba going to CSA? Concern kasi ako kapag coding ang car walang ibang magagamit, may taxi bang pumapasok sa loob ng Dasma Village na pwedeng masakyan palabas or maglalakad lang talaga palabas ng village? Gaano kalayo kung lalakarin? Thanks

^thanks frienzied   yes, that's a good brand!  i remember when we were in the elevator and some school girls rode with us, i really liked their mary janes. i should've asked them. sayang!
