mga sisses, pwede na po bang magparenew ng passport kahit na di pa nageexpire? yung passport kasi ni bf [textspeak!] na sa 6 mons ang validity kapag nagtravel kami sa Oct. gusto ko na sana syang pakuhain na ng bagong passport.. thanks mga sisses..

yes sis you can renew na.  my passport will expire on Feb 2012 pa, but since I have travel plans on Oct, nag renew na ko last May 13.  It's suppose to be released yesterday, but I read na nasira nanaman yung machine, so passport renewals submitted May 6 onwards will be delayed.

At last we're done with our family passport application. For renewal lang naman kami ni hubby and yung kids kinuhaan na rin namin. 930am pa dapat sched namin but we were allowed to go inside as early as 730am. Wala naman naging problem, one consideration lang kung kasama kids sa passport application,  mas convenient talaga kung present ang mother at sya mag apply for the kids kesa mga daddy kasi mas konti hinahanap nila requirements. Natapos kami around 10am, nag open ang processing windows ng 8am.

July 12 daw release ng passports namin, DHL ang nakuha ni hubby na delivery service. Sana okay din sila. thanks mga sis nanagreply sa mga queries ko before our application.

Finally got an appointment for August at 8AM! I hope by that time hindi na problematic mga machines nila and mabilis na ang releasing.

Green Passport or issued after 01 May 1995

    * Present passport and photocopy of pages 1,2,3 (amendment) and last page.
    * The pages showing latest Bureau of Immigration departure and arrival stamps.
    * Photocopy of Birth Certificate for minor applicants.
    * For illegitimate minor, personal appearance of mother is required.

Machine Readable Passport (Maroon)

    * Present passport and photocopy of pages 1,2,3 (amendment) and last page.
    * The pages showing latest Bureau of Immigration departure and arrival stamps.
    * Photocopy of Birth Certificate for minor applicants.
    * Original Birth Certificate from NSO in Security Paper (SECPA) if city/municipality & province on birth place is not specific (Example: NCR instead of San Juan, Metro Manila)
    * For illegitimate minor, personal appearance of mother is required.

Other Supporting Documents

Please bring the following if they are available.

    * Marriage Contract
    * PRC / IBP ID
    * Land Title
    * Driver's License
    * Government Service Record
    * Digitized SSS-ID
    * School Form 137 or Transcript of Records with Dry Seal
    * Other documents that show full name and birth details of applicant and/or citizenship
    * Voter's Registration Record from COMELEC Intramuros
    * Baptismal Certificate w/ Dry Seal
    * Seaman's Book


question, how  many of the listed docs above should you bring? whatever is available lang? thanks

I think sis wala ng problem yung machines nila. I am waiting now for my passport. Release date will be on the 27th, and 28th ang delivery

sis you need to bring yung primary documents like birth cert, marriage cert, ID.
Then bring any available supporting docs like yung NBI clearance, sss id, prc id, one sis even brought her yearbook para supporting docs. Anything bring mo na para hindi ka na madeny at pabalikin na naman another day.

I think everybody are scared for the possible delay, even I. hehe but I am glad I'll be waiting till next week for the release of our passports. Release date June 27, delivery is on June 28. I am so happy na ill have my passport as well my kid's passport hehe

buti pa kayo mga sis, got your passports on the expected date..sa akin wala pa rin until now then i made a follow up and then i was told that it will be released after 60 days! grrrrrrrr ganoon kahaba ang delay niya..tsk tsk tsk

we'll go to DFA in Lucena tomorrow morning as walk-in for my baby's passport. July 6 pa kasi ang appointment ko sa main office (mnl). e since we're from Laguna almost 2hrs din yung travel time to lucena.

a friend advised that we must be there before 5am kasi 150 per day lang yung walk-in accommodation nila. i hope ma-release agad before august, august 9 kasi yung alis namin for vietnam.

what else do i need for my baby's pasport? i ahve with me the following:

NSO birth certificate
NSO marriage contract
my passport
my husband passport

yung picture ba na passport size required pa? or dun na pipicture-an? also yung NSO marriage contract ba kukunin nila yung orig or photocopy lang?

^yung picture sis, dun na. no need to bring pics. per my experience, they got the original maariage cert, yung photocopy ang naiwan sa akin. for my son, since he's of schooling age, I brought his ID. pero kung baby pa, ok na yang docs mo.

9 June 2011 - The Department of Foreign Affairs Office of Consular Affairs (DFA-OCA) regrets to inform the public that releases of passports of those who applied in Manila on May 6 and thereafter and whose passports are due for release on June 10, Friday, and thereafter will be delayed for a few days, or starting June 14 and thereafter.

The delay is caused by an unexpected malfunction of the mainframe program which has prevented the printing of passport booklets.

The foreign equipment provider, Oberthur Technologies, has put all available resources and is working around the clock to fix the problem. The remedial work will take a few days.

To alleviate the backlog, the DFA-OCA will continue offering the extension of the validity of passports for one year of those with urgent travels. This extension can be accomplished within the same day and at no cost to the applicant. There is also no appointment needed to avail of this service.

Those with emergency travels (e.g., death in the family, medical reasons, and OFWs reporting for work) within the next few days may be issued machine-readable passports.

For the above and other concerns, affected individuals may call or visit the Passport Director's office at telephone numbers 836-7759 or 556-0000 locals 2030 up to 32.

The DFA-OCA enjoins the general public who has travel plans to apply for passports well ahead of time, at least 12 weeks in advance.

The DFA requests the public's consideration and understanding. END

Because of their advisory I emailed the consular affair and checked my passport status. It appears that I will still have my passport released on the 27th and will be delivered on the 28th sa akin

pano kung super urgent ang need mo for a passport. like may emergency and you need to be out of the country, say, next week?
