EPILATOR vs WAXING

I'm using the Philips Wet and Dry (HP6521) for a while now and super sulit siya sa legs. DIY ako sa legs with watsons ready to use wax before, pero traumatized ako since nagbalat skin ko one time. I left it out too long and nagpeel skin kasama ng hair. With epilator, kahit malilit na hairs, pwede na tanggalin. No need to wait para tumubo most hairs so I do it once a week.

Sa underarms naman, hindi kaya siya prone to chicken skin than waxing? Nagpa-laser kasi ako ng UA before pero hindi naman makuha lahat after ilan sesh, so may 10 hairs na naiwan. I epilate once a month sa UA.

Sa bikini area, super di ko kaya i-epilate. Ang sakit niya. So wax padin for bikini/brazilian.

Paano linisin yung epilator? Na sterilize ba sya? Prone ako sa ingrown hairs at na minor surgery na din ako sa underarm gawa sa plucking and shaving, ayoko na maulit at super sakit. Nakakapagod kasi magpa wax kasi pupunta pa talaga ako sa waxing salon para sabay na ang brazilian at underarm waxing

^removable yun head niya sis, so pwedeng i-sterilize. I usually use air cans, toothbrush, alcohol, water.

^natatanggal yung head ng sakin sis pero di ko pa makita yung mas manipis tumubo na effect, parang same lang sakin hehe. yung shaving ang nagpakapal ng hairs ko pero with wax and epilator parang same effect.

Yung philips epilator ko natatanggal yung head, it also comes with a small brush to clean the hairs na naiipit sa loob. I haven't done any sterilizing yet, I use it on my legs lang naman.

I use epilator. mas fine ang tubo ng hair compared to shaving.

I am new to the forums and I am hoping you have some good advice about hair epilator. I am so tired of shaving and waxing. Which one is the best, which one would it be advisable for me to buy? Can anybody help? Is this site (http://www.thegoodgears.com/Epilator/) work?

Jackie, there are a couple of epilator brands in the local market. Braun, Philips, Epilady. Braun will be available in Rustans, Philips sa Watsons/SM/Pure Beauty, Epilady, online shop lang.

Which model you want depends on your budget and functions you would be needing. you can go entry level na corded, or rechargeable, or waterproof. some even has extra functions like shaver, our double headed epilators.

Anyone who does brazilian using epilator? I tried it konti sakin, ang sakit! Akala ko the pain will pass, parang sa legs, yun 3rd time ko painless na and tuloy tuloy na. Pero hindi eh, everytime I do it down there, ang sakit! I tried googling it a bit and there's a few girls naman who do it

minsan naiipit kasi skin sa tweezers kaya may time na nagkaka dugo. Kung ganito ang case, wag kalimutan na stretch mo muna skin.
may cases naman na lumalaban yung hair kaya nahirapan din maalis at masakit, pag ganito, make sure na trim mo muna hair to about 1.5 to 2mm para mas mabilis maalis.
it is recommended that you epilate in the same direction as the hair growth, mas di masakit pag ganun. although mas mabilis mahuli yung hair pag against the direction of the hair growth.

i'm using braun epilator for 5yrs now. it's still working well if it wasn't for the battery that won't hold charge for more than 5minutes of use. 5yrs narin kasi and degraded na yung battery. ang tibay ng braun, worth it talaga. i'm going to try to bring it sa service center and see if i can have the battery replaced and yung shaver block nya.

i really recommend braun. hindi sirain. ang tibay talaga.

Mine is an Epilady oval. working 3 years now. Battery is still working fine.
It's always best to go for those with service centers just in case something's wrong.

Yung sa akin naman philips, may adaptor nga lang sya na removable. More than 7 yrs na sa akin. Matibay din naman altho parang 2-3 times ko lang gamitin kasi di naman ganun kabilis ang tubo ng leg hairs.

im using epilady too. wala na chicken skin ua ko since i stopped shaving and use epilator.

philips yung sa akin, 2yrs na sa akin to. so far so good naman.

mga sis saan nakakabili ng replacement head para sa Philips Satinelle? kasi yung body ng epilator ko ok pa naman, may na-stuck na hibla ng sinulid yata yun sa head kaya hirap na syang magrotate

the epilator removes the hair from the root without ripping off the top layer of skin. It is an automatic tweezer.

Yung waxing nakaka exfoliate din ng skin basta tamang temperature lang. I discovered sugaring from a friend, ito na lagi ko pinapagawa kasi parang mas manipis na tubo ng hair ko. Pati BW sugaring na rin kaso mas matagal yung procedure kesa sa waxing.
