EPILATOR vs WAXING

Hi mga sis, kagabi I tried epilating my legs and underarms. Bakit ganun? Nagkaron ng red bumps na medyo mahapdi. Nagsubside naman pero meron pa rin konti ngayon. What to do with them? :O

^You have to prep your skin first before epilating. I usually epilate right after I shower so medyo moist yung skin ko. After epilating I wipe my skin with alcohol-free wipes. Then I wait mga one to two hours before ako mag-lotion.

curious na talaga ako sa epilator na yan! lol .. oo nga mas cheaper talaga kung iisipin  kesa mag wax pa monthly sa salon right?.. saan ba to nabibili? or nasa watsons? wala kasing rustans dito samin

I've never tried waxing, medyo namamahalan ako if I'll do it regularly. I've been using Braun epilator for a few months now, satisfied naman ako sa result. Got it from Anson's Trinoma for about 3k (can't remember exactly how much). It's just more practical for me to buy the epilator once than the roughly monthly expenses of waxing.

^^sis kwang sun, sa sm appliance center meron, sa megamall at robinsons na watsons meron din ng philips satinelle pero konti lang, hindi kumpleto models nila unlike sa sm appliance makakapilli ka, meron doon yung mura 2k lang. Sa robinsons at rustans meron pa braun bukod sa philips so you have a choice. Ok na ok ang epilator if you have high pain tolerance, or kung hindi naman makapal ang balahibo hindi naman siya masakit, kayang kaya ko siya gamitin sa legs and underarms saka singit hehe natatapos ako less than 30 minutes. Hindi ko talaga kaya down there kaya shave na lang dun or trim with scissors. Napansin ko din habang tumatagal na gamit ka ng epilator numinipis yung balahibo pag tubo, kaya habang tumatagal na hindi na masakit. Twice a month lang ako mag epilator eh

I bought an epilator a year ago, forgot the brand, used it once lang. Ang sakit, ewan ko ba bat ganun. Mataas naman pain tolerance ko, na-trauma yata ako sa once na nagamit ko yun. sayang tuloy. Bakit parang based sa ibang comments dito hindi ganun kasakit?

Bought the Philips Satinelle epilator yesterday! Yung 2k lang. Immediately tried it and loved it! Super happy with this purchase. Hindi naman sya ganun kasakit swear! Never tried waxing and mukhang di ko na mattry. Epilator all the way!

Mine's a Braun Silk Epil 3. I still have the box and receipt, I bought it for 4.5k pala, not 3k. It's worth the price naman I think.

^ @ sis gil12,  epilators are for people with high pain tolerance talaga. lalo kung thick ang balahibo, lalo kung naging thick from shaving, iiyak ka safirst time of use mo ng epilator. Pero kung madami na maninipis lang ok na ok siya very tolerable. And i agreewith others here, dapat epilate after a bath

Nope hindi damp, dapat dry skin basta after a bath para malambot and easy to pull yung hair, ako nageepilator ng armpits sa harap ng fan hehe para hindi pawisan si pits

epilators can pull hair kahit 0.5mm length pa lang. medyo mahirap mahila pag ganito kaiksi. 1mm to 2mm is best, pag medyo long ang hair naman, it usually gets tangled sa epilating head, so better trim first

Hi ladies, Question lang. Kasi we just bought the Philips Satinelle Epilator, yung 2k lang. Kaso super excited namin, didn't read the directions, haha so parang nagka shaving rash yung armpit nung sister ko. tapos 1 day daw siyang mahapdi, tapos nung gumaling na, naging dark na yung underarms niya and naging scaly. yung akin naman yung right armpit ko lang yung nagkaron ng ganun, but a small portion lang. nagyon maitim siya. waah. parang gasgas na gumagaling. anyone experienced this? will the darkness go away? kaya pa naman kami gumamit kasi nakakapasmooth and lighten daw ng pits haha

never ever shave your pits na mahaba ang hair. ugh. sister ko kasi tagal hindi nagpawax she was growing it out para sulit raw sa wax, i never thought to trim the hair first. sheesh. FAIL.

^sa emjoi ko di pa naman nangyayari sa akin ito. pero mas waxing ako e. i only use epilator kapag hindi pa ganoon kahaba yung buhok for waxing at kailangan ko mangtanggal nang buhok.

always start sa small area talaga. in places where the skin is stretchy, you have to pull the skin tight para di gaanong masakit. kasi pag area na stretchy ang skin, parang naglalaban sa hilahan yung epilator at yung skin, kaya medyo masakit. and always go with the growth direction of the hair, don't go against the grain, medyo mas masakit yun. although mas mabilis mahuli ng epilator tweezers yung tiny hairs pag against the grain.
better prep muna kung first timer sa epilation. some recommend exfoliation first para mas mabilis daw mahila yung hair. I think warming up the skin will also help dahil mas open na ang pores.
epilators also perform differently, pag masyadong mabilis ang ikot, tendency is napuputol ang hair. yung  mga newer models naman na may ceramic heads, same effect, napuputol daw hair dahil sobrang tigas ng ceramic.
