mga sis hanson/maryodette - I have heard of some cases na nag apply from Manila at nakahanap naman ng work sa Sg.  So kung maiwasan ang gastos, why not di b?  Natry nyo na ba mag apply online lang muna?

^^ sis my roommate order food from a Filipino food stall sa may Ang Mo Kio Industrial Park. They cater daw. So far okay naman daw ang food. Everyday doon na sila bumibili ng lunch - they just send somebody to buy. You want to try i can get their number if you want.

sis blooming nagapply ako sa monster, jobstreet, jobsdb at kung saan saan pa. Yung sa jobstreet either no status or unsuccessful. To think na meron iba doon alam ko qualified talaga ako. siguro mas preferred din nila yung mga andun na sa sg kesa andito pa. Sa monster meron din nag email saka tawag kaso hindi p rin ako makatisod. Need lang siguro ng luck. Or better kung yung address mo is sg na tpos sg sim card yung number. What do you think sis?

^ malaking factor talaga ang luck and prayers.

I am not an expert in recruitment so not sure if people prefer candidates to be based here. siguro we can just speculate, especually if the skill sets required for the position is not unique.  Pero kung angat ang skill sets mo with other candidates, hahanapin ka definitely and some are even willing to hold phone interviews first para hindi sayang ang airfare.

di ko pa natry Tiger and Airphil kasi most often, sa Clark ang airport nila.  since Manila gusto ko na airport, I go for Jetstar. Once lang ako nagCebuPac, di ko nagustuhan.

Kami din as much as possible jetstar lagi. Pag walang sale, inaabot ng 250-300 sgd, pero recently nakabili kami ng sale at 150sgd per passenger.

I've tried Tiger and Cebu Pac, of the two, mas gusto ko Cebu Pac kasi mas madali ang system sa Terminal 3 kesa sa Terminal 1 On december, Airphil naman kami which is sa T3 din. Sa Cebpac yung airfare for me and my 1 and half y/o baby was 5.3k then yung for dec22 to jan1 trip namin sa airphil is 8.9k..

I wonder, meron kayang nagvisit lang sa SG for 4 days then nakahanap ng work agad dun??<br hehe! mag-tour kasi kami ni boyfie dyan.. eh since we ahve a lot of friends who's working there in SG eh naisip ko lang if possible makahanap ng work then hindi na uuwi? LOL! or uuwi sandali then babalikan yung work.. hihi! 

Hubby works in SG now. nag-tourist din siya last june.  bale he passed his resume online ng wednesday morning, got the call from HR the same day afternoon then thursday pinapunta siya for interview then friday morning final interview and friday afternoon tinawagan siya sabe hired na daw siya. pinapass siya ng requirements ng monday for SPass then before matapos yung week na yun approved na yung SPass niya.umuwi lang din siya to get his things kasi for 1 week lang yung baon niyang clothes.

^Nsa SG na siya nun nagstart siya mag-email ng resume niya. sa digital arts school siya nagwowork ngayon. Admin Staff. he's currently looking for other job din ngayon and kung ano daw yung dali ng pagkaka-hire niya nung una, yun naman hirap ng paghahanap niya ngaun..

Ate Kaye, sabi nga nung owner ng unit namin na mas makakamura na kami pag primary school na.. balak namin ipasok sa government school na lang din si K.. pero ayun nga, itutuloy ang British Council.. Iyon nga naging problema ko sa Nursery school search ni K.. grabe ang hirap maipasok talaga! kaya left with no choice kundi sa childcare type.. Iyon na ang pinaka mura sa area namin.. may mas mura pero magiging expensive din kasi plus school bus fees.. at sayang naman ang gising ni K kung malayo..

Re: Poll, I'd say Tiger Airways kasi malapit sa amin sa bulacan.. hahaha pero between Tiger and Cebu, I'll go for Tiger dahil sa bad experience ko with Cebupac..

pia, ang layo talaga ng diperensya ng school fees from preschool to primary.  for foreigners, ang monthly fee sa primary ay S$246.  kung PR, S$51 lang. laking tipid na talaga.  kaya yung may-ari ng Katipunan store nakapagpundar ng stores nung nag-primary na mga bata.  (sa Chiltern yata nag-prescool mga yon. hehe)   parang gusto ko na din mag-PR bago mag-primary si ela kasi malaki pa din matitipid sa school fees pag PR.
sa local school lang din namin balak ipasok si ela sa primary. wala talaga kaming balak mag-IS.  mahal na, hindi pa ganon kaganda ang aral.  mas maganda pa daw sa local primary schools.
ok din naman sa mga childcare centers. hindi ko lang ni-consider yan dati kasi SAHM naman ako. i just needed a 3-4hr preschool for ela. at saka yung mga CC na napuntahan ko, mas sulit kung full day eh. kasi some of the activities (like chinese) are in the afternoon.  at saka among the CCs din na napuntahan ko, yung pinakanagustuhan ko eh yung nasa malayo. hehe.  kaya sa Bethesda ko pinasok si ela.     N2 pa lang naman si kyle. ok lang yan.  may ilang taon pa sya sa preschool (in case gusto nyo magpalit ng school).  preschool should not be stressful din.  play lang dapat 


thans for the responses re:budget airline to SG.  we used to take CebuPac. pero nung nag-jetstar kami nung last na uwi namin, parang ayaw ko na bumalik ng cebupac. hehe. pero nasasayangan din kasi minsan sobrang mura ng sale fares sa cebupac.  madalas pa sila mag-sale.  jetstar kasi, kailangan talaga abangan, kundi mauubusan.

^ kami naman wala matyempuhang sale. hirap din magplan ahead kasi mamaya lalo kaming mapamahal if we need to rebook. pero ok kami sa jetstar kasi feeling ko value for money talaga sya.

on primary school, depende sa school, pero pag PR, it can range rom $14-40/mo. Pero di ko lam in the coming years, kasi parang magta-taas na naman ata ulit. Pero nung di pa kami PR, S$14/month lang binabayaran namin. So not sure kung may effect kung PR o hindi. Tapos nung nilipat ko sa Catholic School, am currently paying $32.50/month.  not bad parin.

nagtataas na sila ng school fees eh. at saka medyo ginagawa na nilang malaki ang difference ng PR at citizen.  i got the school fees from this site:

PR means yung bata ang PR.  kung naka-dependent pass or LTSVP or student pass ang bata (kahit pa PR ang parents), international student sya.

parang may nakita din akong tanong na ganyan dati sa PinoySG. the parents are PR tapos dito nanganak. syempre by default hindi pa PR yung bata. so ang babayaran nung bata na hospital fees ay foreigner rate. (napakwento lang )

hi mga sis. sino dito who are planning to apply for a PR? one year pa lang hubby ko dito e and i am on DP. i've been hearing na mahirap mag-approve ng PR ngayon. applying for PR was not initially part of the plan when we came here but since I've been having hard time finding a job (plus procrastination p.) kaya we're thinking of applying na rin. we are just preparing all the necessary docs.
