nicoletta, i would vouch for kristopher king caldera.  apart from doing- ahem, ahem- ours, he was also a shooter for the now-almost-legendary(?)-millions-and-millions worth of a "third" wedding SDE of an obviously loaded chinese couple in shangri-la boracay.  if fireworks were priced at a per minute rate, this couple did half an hour's worth.  so if mayad assigned king to such a high profile event, then you know you'll be on the right track with him. 

Will request this with sheena, but can you show me a link to one of his video?  And who is this couple? S*y ba yung last name?

nicoletta, this is the video that inspired us to get mayad.  i'm not sure if king was behind this, but if they do assign shooters based on the inspiration video, then maybe king was in on this?

Saw the john and  deb video. Exag nga. Ganda ng pagkakagawa. Pero an advice lang to those planning to get mayad ah. Ask them if you can watch videos not posted on vimeo. Pili kasi yun e kaya magaganda talaga. I have attended a wedding na mayad yung videographer. Sorry to say pero it was not impressive at all. Sayang lang cause I was excited pa naman to watch their work sa big screen kasi I used to think na mas magaling sila kay JMag.

Yeah grabe the Deb and John wedding no? Some friends went to that wedding and posted photos on FB. All as in ALL flowers were imported. And the fireworks palang? 4M na daw.

nicoletta and vhanya, you should also look into splurging for the crane with mayad- if you haven't already.  it was about additional PHP 20,000 for us in early 2012.  here's a mayad video that had extensive crane shots:

Not so much a fan of JMag but he's one of the pioneers ng SDE...
I started liking wedding videos three years ago because of Treelogy..

BUT

Mayad is LOVE!!! Mayad is getting better and better every year! Bilib ako sa creativity nila. Every video is captivating! GALING!

this is mayad's description for the crane as an add-on: 
"You've seen it in movies, we're sure this provides a fantastic third angle during the wedding day."

and on another note, we just received our 30 minute-ish wedding video.  they sent it from iloilo to the US within 3 days via fedex.  we didn't have to pay anything extra.  and it came in a really nice, high-quality DVD case and small bag   we're not watching it until our first year wedding anniversary though!  oh, and for those interested- it took about 7 months.  which is right about what they did say from the beginning was their timeline.

a bit OT, but Deb of the Deb and John wedding is the sister of the girl's wedding back in 2010 that was discussed somewhere here. forgot the name but it was makati shang, lito sy and flowers were also imported abroad that transformed the whole ballroom and the cocktail area in to a secret garden. millions and millions din yung wedding

^ yes sis! younger sister yan. grabe their house is core, parang 1 block! hahaha the mom is ma-decorate nga. i think she topped off her sister's wedding with the dragon boat and fireworks.

Parang sheena mentioned that crane is included in the 150k package na. We're getting them for the prenup video as well, and we are meeting on the 17th so we have to fill up the contract and details about us. I actually showed my fiancé that video of earl and Chloe which is why I wanted Mayad and a garden inspired wedding.

nicoletta, great deal if crane is included in the PHP 150K package.  i think that's the HD package, right?  9 months ago, the HD package was PHP 120K with no crane.  the SD package, which we got, was PHP 85K also with no crane.  but the good part about us just getting the SD package is that they shot our SDE in HD nonetheless.  i already have our longer full-length wedding video from mayad, but we're not watching that until march 2013 so won't know  if it's in HD as well.  last i heard, they were phasing out SD packages and shooting exclusively in HD.

but yes, best iron out that contract to make sure you're both on the same page with what's included.  our SD contract was not fulfilled, but we're not complaining

By this you mean you got more than what you paid for because of the additional crane?  Met up with sheena and shake for some brain storming.  We are either getting king or fiel for the trailer and maybe on the wedding day itself.  Will see pa... They will send me some links of works that we might like

Yup!  Crane is included.  I'm already excited.  Now I just need to find myself a stylist for the wedding, prenup photographer and makeup artist.

nicoletta, nope we didn't get the crane for free.  it was PHP 20,000 for us.  what we got that we didn't pay for was the High Definition package.  we just paid for Standard Package because that's what we really wanted.  but they shot us in HD nonetheless.  we "underpaid" by PHP 35,000.
