i enjoyed my 16 day italy trip. i could actually extend it another 2 weeks without getting bored but my sister has classes already.

when you travel just try to breathe and slow down a bit. people try to cram everything in and you will be left with that super bit in feeling. not to mention the fact that your tired and stressed out at the same time.

Is Milan worth a visit? I'm planning for our trip and so far, here are the places we're considering:
Rome - Tuscany - Florence - side trip to Pisa - Verona - Venice -Assisi - Naples - Rome

Plan is 15 days. Is this too hectic?

I think that your iti can become really hectic.
Imo you should be spending a min of 2 nights in 1 location only.

i haven't been to milan so i can't comment on that. sorry. you can use venice as your base and just do 1 trip by train to verona. they have a lovely open air theater this time of the year.

@sis Mhoirae. I went on a daytrip to San Gimignano and Sienna from Florence. I just booked the tickets on the day itself. Trains leave hourly. Yung bus skeds, iba iba. Just check the skeds online (Trenitalia for the trains).

mga sis... we're planning  a getaway to Italy on the 2nd week of Aug na... too soon and no IT yet... my sis-in-law's can only stay for 6 days including their travel back home... so more or less 5.5 days lang talaga... we plan to enter via Milan sana since for them it would be cheaper to enter Milan than Rome tsaka may + one day sila if they enter via Milan... initially we planned to go to Venice, Florence, Rome and syempre a little roaming around Milan sana kaso yun na nga we only have 6 days pala... any suggestions and to how we can enjoy our 6 days Italy adventure???

^Suggestion:
Day 0 - fly out of MNL
Day 1 - arrive in Milan. Jet lag malamang. Rest i. n Milan/Explore Milan. If kaya, train to Rome.
Day 2 - train to Rome (four hours I think). Here's the website of Trenitalia (http://www.italiarail.com/)
Day 3 - Rome
Day 4 - Rome
Day 5 - train back to Milan. Shopping.
Day 6 - fly out of Milan. Back to reality.
Not sure what time ang arrival/departure nyo in Milan. Just tweak the IT as necessary.

Kapos talaga sa oras. So you may want to reconsider flying in/out of Rome. And based from what I read, wala masyadong magagawa sa Milan (but I haven't been there). You can do 3-4 days in Rome and visit a nearby town like Florence for 2-3 days. Like this:

Day 0 - depart MNL
Day 1 - arrive in Rome
Day 2 - Rome
Day 3 - Rome
Day 4 - Florence
Day 5 - Day in Florence. Overnight in Rome na rin.(for peace of mind).
Day 6 - More of Rome. Last minute shopping. Fly out of Rome

Kapos pa rin...pero given the 6 days...ganun talaga.

BTW, you'll need to apply for Schengen visa na...Now na! Unless you already have an existing one/ you are are not a PH passport holder.

We've decided to meet in Venice na lang..
For us, it would be 2-3 nights since we'll be there earlier , while SIL and fam will arrive the ff. day na.
Tapos Rome na...

We already have schengen visas.. Hotels and places to go na lang. Sayang nga we can't stay at hostels, since we have 2 kids with us.

Any suggestions?

venice: i stayed at hotel dalla mora. francesco was fantastic and its located close to the bus station+ campo margherita which was good for watching soccer games at night.
venice: san giorgio maggiore island, go do the clock tower (very underrated imo), basilica and dodges palace which are all in st marks square, burano, ca rezzonico,peggy guggenheim. Get lost in venice +riding the vaporetto and traghetto is the best "free" thing to do in venice.

rome: my favorite is the borghese gallery,piazza navona and the underground vatican tour which was very special for me since  I was lucky enough to go to restricted areas just because the president of panama did a private tour)
other things on your list should be: colosseo, spanish steps, pantheon, vatican museum + st peters, borghese gardens, trastevere and jewish ghettp.

^ you need to research a bit. no need to follow your list all the time but its good to have at least a few backups when you want fail safe good food=)

Venice - nag stay kami sa "Hotel ai do Mori" located siya sa San Marco mismo. Hotel siya pero parang hostel style, no breakfast pero habol lang kasi talaga namin dito location. Paglabas mo ng hotel store tska mga restaurants na agad makikita mo.

Rome - nag stay naman kami dito sa "Hotel Pomezia" (Via dei Chiavari) maliit lang yung room pero ok na din naman, free breakfast. Maganda din yung location kasi halos lahat ng attraction walking distance lang. 2 minutes walk to Camp de fiori (Market), 5 minutes walk to piazza navona, trevi fountain and pantheon, 10minutes walk to colosseum and vatican

for me, kahit saan na lang. Kasi nung nagpunta kami ng Rome super research pa ako ng restaurant pero nakakadisappoint lang!

I wasnt disappointed with my choices. In rome try da agusto and in venice i tried d'alarco? And obika, marios trattoria and kitsch in florence. All were excellent and cheAp:)

In Roma, I highly recommend the resto Navona Notte (Via del Teatro Pace, 44, 00186 Rome), it's near Piazza Navona. 

Their food is really good, the ambiance is very homey, the price affordable and the staff's very friendly, but then again most Italians are known for being warm and friendly.  I treated my family to dinner there the night of my birthday and they even gave us all (a party of 7) free limoncello's.  We had to wait though for around 15 mins to be seated because the place is where most of the locals go - ergo you can't go wrong.   They made my birthday a happy and memorable one.

Which outlet is worth going to in Florence?  There are a number kasi and I want to visit just one.

i am going to Italy on October for 9 days then 6 days sa Spain naman.

my IT will be:

4 days Rome
2 days Bologna
2 days Venice
1 Milan

then rest is Spain.

Wala naman kaming planong suyurin ang lahat ng tourist spot sa Italy  dahil ang gusto namin  ng friend ko is bakasyon, ayaw ko na maulit yung nangyari saken sa Turkey na dahil me tour guide kami we have to follow the itinerary, uu nga napuntahan namin ang almost lahat ng tourist spot pero hindi mu na na enjoy kase Amazing Race nga lahat and by the time sa gabi eh super pagod na kami kaya hindi namin na enjoy ng bongga ang nightlife (which is isa sa mga A MUST ko)

So relax lang sa IT nyo mga sisses, kase kung napuntahan mu nga ang mga famous spot pero hindi mu nanamnam ang pagkakataon eh parang hindi siya mag reregister sayo, you dont see the beauty of the place.  Kaya mas maigi pa gn DIY tour nalang, hindi naman kelangan lahat ng place makita mu eh, just choose kung ano ang importante para sayo.

Sa akin ang importante is Vatican City and to see Pope (harinawa). Dun lang siguro eh sulit na ko.
