Hi Bamzki,

I agree with aicute12...bakit nga ba nagbi-Birth Control Pills ang mga gustong mabuntis?  Idea ba ito ng OB?

Ang alam kong purpose ng BCP is to prevent pregnancy.  These are Hormonal Contraceptives taken orally...containing synthetic hormones to add to the natural ones in a woman's body...increasing them, to make her brain think that she's pregnant so that she will not ovulate, make her cervical mucus thicken and/or thin the lining of her uterus and prevent the implantation of a fertilized egg.

Sometimes, naiisip ko tuloy, PCOS is just another term to name something that is still undefined just to have an alibi to administer an unending "treatment"

Have you already studied your fertility pattern and pinpointed your ovulation day and timed intercourse on that day?

I give free seminars on Natural Family Planning (NFP).  I could help through this forum or thru private message (PM).  Just provide more information and continue sharing here.

ang wife ko, 120 pounds, 5'4 ang height. overweight na ba ito? dati kasi nasa 100 pounds lang sya dati tapos biglang tumaba to as much as 135 pounds at nagtry maglose ng weight kasi bilateral pcso for 2.5 years na upon detection.

Musta na ang cysts ng wife mo? I used to be around 160lbs, my OB asked  me to lose weight aside from taking medication... I went down to 118lbs and sa ultrasound, nawala ng cysts ko. I don't think your wife is overweight.

Thanks NeilRudeCat..Actually kaya ako nag BCP --self medication. Kase nga irregular yung mens ko, pag naka BCP di ba  regular ang cycle, kaya no hassle pag mag lovemaking...kahiya man..gusto ko kasi na clear na clear kapag nag lm kami...and yun nga last year feeling ok na ako kahit di na magka baby kaya nag dianne35 ako for a regular cycle...not until now na gusto namin ulit mag try.

As per treatment, nag HSG na ako, both tubes are normal, semen analysis ni hubby is ok.
Obese ako 68 kilos, last 2011 nag 55 kilos ako and my PCOS decreased from 46/36 LR polycysts eh naging 19/16 na lang LR ko, but yun nga, tumaba na naman ako, naging unfocused.

Pero now,  gusto ko na baguhin lahat ng mali na ginawa ko, yung procrastination nga, ang mindset ko mag diet, mag vit and supplements and magpa immuno tests ( baka daw di kami match ng dugo? or my NK ako?) before IVF for 2015...

Thanks po, I would like to take suggestions kung paano maging game plan, with limited money for treatment...

@Bamzki

Thanks for sharing again.  Sana through this exchange/discussion, marami ang matuto.

I just would like to say to everyone reading this.  Sana, kapag may concern about our body, our health...pag-aralan muna natin ng mabuti ang ating sarili at lahat ng options.  Kung weight management, let's be fully informed about nutrition and health.  Kung fertility and reproductive health...let's be fully informed about human fertility and reproduction.  We should not simply turn to chemicals and highly commercialized synthetic products.

Please don't feel uncomfortable, Bamzki, about what I said.  Many of us easily give in to advertising and commercialized information.

Quote
"The family of a teen who died suddenly after taking a controversial acne drug is suing Shoppers Drug Mart for failing to warn their daughter about the medicationโ€™s most dangerous side effects."
Diane-35: Family whose daughter died after taking drug sues Shoppers Drug Mart
http://www.thestar.com/news/gta/2013/12/17/diane35_family_whose_daughter_died_after_taking_drug_sues_shoppers_drug_mart.html

Quote
"In December, the Australian Therapeutic Goods Administration said it would investigate Bayer over claims the company breached laws which prevented it marketing the pill Diane-35 as a contraceptive. Diane-35 was temporarily banned in France last year following a number of deaths there."
http://www.theguardian.com/world/2014/jan/08/pill-class-action-600-australian-women

Quote
"The Netherlands Pharmacovigilance Center recently implicated the controversial hormone pill Diane-35, used by many as an off-label contraceptive, in the deaths of 27 women. The majority of the women who died were under 30. Most died from blood clots becoming lodged in their brains, lungs or hearts."

Very dangerous at risky ang pag-self medicate using contraceptives.

Quote
"Special Precautions: Medical Examination/Consultation: A complete medical history and physical examination should be taken prior to the initiation or reinstitution of Diane-35, guided by the contraindications (see Contraindications) and warnings (see Warnings), and should be repeated periodically. Periodic medical assessment is also of importance because contraindications (eg, a transient ischemic attack, etc) or risk factors (eg, a family history of venous or arterial thrombosis) may appear for the first time during the use of Diane-35. Determine Ovulation Day...time intercourse there...to increase chance of getting pregnant
We're human beings, not machines...kaya paiba-ibang cycles.

Ovulation Predictor Kit (OPK)
From 1 to 2 days lang ang egg cell, pagka-ovulate. Kapag, stretchy, liquefied at parang raw egg white na ang mucus...very fertile na yun at possible Ovulation Day na.  Use the OPK to confirm and time intercourse there.

Hello Ladies! i have bilateral pcos diagnosed last aug 2012. My OB said to take metformin pero hindi ko tinuloy kasi nasusuka ako sa taste nya, sabi it'll help to lose weight daw. I am 26 yrs old 5'5" and nasa 160 lbs. I'm supposed to weigh around 140 lbs. I lost 15 lbs when I took HCG drops coz I really wanted to lose weight for myself and the chance to have a baby but since ang daming holidays na party I gained again and wont be able to use the hcg drops till feb. But last week i started taking metformin ulit! Susunod na ako sa kanya this year! Hoping to lose that stubborn 20 lbs more :)

Hello girls, pa-join! :)

I was diagnosed with PCOS a few years ago na; both ovaries in my case. I was given 2 rounds (3 months each) of Metformin and Provera. After the first 3 months, bumalik ako for TVU and same pa din so I was asked to do another round, unfortunately, hindi na ako nakabalik kay OB. I was informed that after the 2nd round and same results, I will be prescribed to go on the pill. Maybe blessing in disguise na din na I didn't had to (take the pill).

I have since gained a few more pounds and my cycle became more irregular. My last period was last August 2013 pa, and up to now (January 2014) wala pa. I would have small spotting pero hindi magtutuloy yung period. I'm sure naman na I'm not pregnant.

I got married last November and now hubby and I are trying to conceive. I finally went back for a check up (new OB) and was advised to really diet. I'm very heavy now and it is greatly affecting me/us. I was also given Duphaston to help with my period. Sabi din ni OB na since we're TTC na nga kaya ito ang medicine na binigay niya kase just in case daw na may spontaneous pregnancy, pang pakapit na din yung medicine at the same time. I was also advised to undergo blood workup to make sure (Rubella, Hepatitis, Thyroid) na my antibodies are fine (just in case of spontaneous pregnancy).

Today is Diet Day 1, hopefully, I will have the discipline to choose the right food to eat, ang sarap kase kumain hehe! ;D

^ I couldn't agree more. Masarap talaga kumain.

Ako naman I'm diagnosed with PCOS since I was 18.

I didn't know at that time na dangerous pala siya for my health. I'm sobrang irregular. Minsan 6 months to 1 year ako bago datnan ng mens. So I had no choice but to take the medications.

Every 6 months nagpapacheck up ako sa ob ko to monitor my bilateral pcos.

Last week I went for a regular checkup, grabe ang itinaba ko. I gained 30 pounds. My ideal weight is 105-115 pero ngayon 130 na ko. Although I received a good news. Naging okay yung isang ovary ko, apparently nagrespond siya sa gamot pero 1 year pa after ko magstop ng diane35 saka lang nakita yung pagbabago. I was thinking nga kung ano ang ginawa ko in the past months at nagrespond siya. I remember changing our drinking water to alkaline water.

Sobrang bawas rice, more on veggies and water. Balik diet na naman.

Hi guys. May thread pala na ganito.  ;)

Diagnosed ako with PCOS last 2011. Tried few months last year pa-workup pero hindi nagwork-out so ayun. Nag-stop na rin ako.

Now, may bago na ko doctor and yun nga she wants me to lose 5-10% of my current weight. :'(

Got my blood work up results and ok naman sila; so far, I'm immune to all of the diseases. After the 2nd check up with my OB, binalik niya ako sa Metformin. Once a day muna for 1 week, then 2x a day on the following week then 3x a day on the next; medyo matindi ata ang side effects (for some) kaya hindi agad agad na 3x a day; I'm still on my 2x a day week this week and so far, tolerable naman. Hot flashes, nausea, headaches -- pero nagkaron din ako, so not sure kung dahil dun yun, hehe.

I think it depends kung ano 'diskarte' per OB? Kase for me, wala pa namang nag push talaga na I take pills.

I just finished my 2nd round of Duphaston and so far, so good, nagka-period naman ako; so I guess, it depends kung ano yung mag wowork for you.

Hi mga sis. It's been a while since nag-post ako dito sa thread na 'to. Matagal na PCOS ko at ever since I have problems with losing weight talaga kahit anong diet gawin ko. Good thing, my bestfriend offered me yung Optrimax Plum Delite and after 10 days of taking it I lose 1 kilo. I know it's not that big pero para sakin big start na siya. What's really good about the product is healthy siya to take since pickled plum siya and bfad-approved. If ever may interested sa inyo, PM niyo lang ako.  :)

Sana magtuloy-tuloy na 'tong pagpapapayat ko. Baby dust to all!

im also pcos and been a silent reader... last yr i had endometrial hyperplasia which makes me vulnerable to cancer of the uterus if not controlled.. i had d&c and 6 month medication after.. my period is regular.. after the 6 month medication of dupahston.. my period is still monthly and the volume improve..hindi na sya overflowing as before.. but sadly i had 4 myomas who are sort of active..i had 2 before and less than 1cm each now the biggest is 4.2cm and smallest is 1cm..

i was given metformin and folic acid.. i went to get 2 more opinions of other OBgyne.. my original ob wants is fertility work up.. the 2nd OB do the natural way... the 3rd ob suggested work up but i have to see an endocrinologist for my weight problem.. which i did...

since part ng myoma growth it feeds on blood,, and na trigger din ng hormones.. most of my weight problem is connected with my hormone imbalance brought about by pcos.. as what i have posted in the other thread.. i have to do several blood test- FBS, insulin, tsh, dheas and testosterone.. then the endocrinologist which hormone is dominantly high and has to be regularized.. then i can lose weight permanently..

once done tsaka daw ako babalik sa OBgyne (the 3rd ob) to have work up.. kasi sayang daw work up if my weight problem will be in the way...isa isa muna daw ayusin mga problema...

Hi Kikai,

Thank you for sharing.  Could I ask you a PM on the contact info of your 2nd OB.  I am into Natural Family Planning (NFP) and would like to get in touch with her.

I get a lot of information from a US based FB group with 4,191 members, where married couples who are trying to conceive and who have had success are exchanging knowledge and learnings.  Hear's an example of how even if the doctor says you got PCOS...you still could have a baby.  It's God who says you'll have a baby and no one else can stop that

Natural Family Planning - CLOSED group

Katherine (23 hrs ยท Savannah, GA, United States): "Before I married I had very irregular and painful periods. I went to a doctor who diagnosed me with PCOS and told me that I would have trouble conceiving. With this knowledge I decided not to chart. I then married and got pregnant on our honeymoon. Now, 11 months later, I have a beautiful 2 month-old and I have already had one menstrual cycle. I have looked up how to do NFP using the mucus method, but I still have no real clue what I am doing. Since our medical bills are through the roof right now, I really would like to wait before getting pregnant again. HELP!"

(BTW, Kikai, I also listen to Joel and Victoria Osteen.  I appreciate the quote there.)

Nagvacay ako sa work ni hubby last March 25-April 21. After that, tuloy tuloy na love making na everyday 1-3 times a day until nung pagbalik ko ng 21st. Kailan kaya ako pwede magcheck kung may nabuo or what?

Hi fellow cysters, na-diagnosed last 2009. My initial reaction, shocked!

After 5 years TTC nagdecide ako na mag-give up! Naisip ko na lang na alagaan ko ang sarili ko, nag-enroll ako sa gym with so strict instructor in diet. No rice talaga, and more veggies & fruits. In a month Nabawasan ang weight ko ng 10 kilos, from 75kgs, naging 65 na lang. Super irregular ako like quarterly lang ako nagkakaroon. Pero nabuntis ako naturally, and I guess malaki ang naitulong na nabawasan ang timbang ko.

Kaya wag mawalan ng pag-asa mga cysters! Darating rin ang angel na hinihintay nyo. Baby dust to all!

I'm so glad I found this thread. Nadiagnose ako ng PCOS nung 2010, Prinescribe saken nung OB ko is yaz, metformin at provera. I didn't like the side effects tapos I had abnormal vaginal bleeding so nagstop na lang ako maggamot and then hinayaan ko na lang. Nung 2013 buong taon ako dinudugo, spotting minsan malakas minsan onti lang nung Dec2013 eh nalaman ko na may polyp ako sa cervix di madetermine if my bleeding was caused by the polyp or something so naD&C ako.

I need to lose weight na talaga.

I was diagnosed with bilateral PCOS 16yo pa lang ako (I'm 30 now). Sobrang erratic ng period ko, may times na 2x a year lang ata ako nagkakaperiod.. My college years I was prescribed with diane to help regulate my menses.. June 14, 2014 I got married and one of the preparations for the wedding (as well as the TTC part of marriage) is yung makapagbawas ako ng timbang talaga.. I am 5'6", weighed 159lbs and went down to 123lbs nung wedding day.. My period became regular, ang dating 2x a year eh monthly na dumadating, my prolactin levels are now normal (dati kasi sobrang taas) and the best part of it is naconfirm thru TVS na nagoovulate nako. :) I am currently 9 weeks preggy now. I got pregnant after 2nd month of natural TTC. pati yung current OB ko natuwa, talaga daw malaking effect sa fertility ko ang weightloss na nangyari..

I know mahirap mag lose ng weight, believe me naka ilang try din ako at failed attempts of losing weight..
