May ganyan sa SM groceries sis. Either yung plastic jar na may red na takip. Local brand lang. Forgot what the brand is. Basta red yung takip and yellow yung label. Meron ding ndi naka-jar. Naka-plastic lang. Katabi ng ibang mga spices na de plastic din.

^ No fixed period of time sis eh. Depende yan sa storage. Just check kung may amoy pa yung spices at walang condensation sa lalagyan. Dapat keep them away from extreme temperatures tsaka close the lid tightly. Wag ka rin magtataktak nung spices on top of what you're cooking para ndi pumasok yung steam sa bottle. Moisture and extreme temperatures talaga sumisira sa potency ng spices and herbs.

Sis, kelp is a type of seaweed. Are you referring to kombu? Yun yung base ng mga japanese stocks madalas. You buy it in dry form. Mukha siyang leather na natuyo. Parang blackish na moss green yung kulay. Tas you boil it. Thicker siya sa nori. Ito minsan yung nakapack with Japanese ramen o kahit Korean ramen. Yung black na maliit na square.

lasa siyang earthy na salty din. Mas deep yung lasa niya kesa sa nori pero halos pareho ng flavor profile.

About dun sa spices, basta pag bumili ka ng bago, try to remember yung kulay nila. Pag nag darken or nag lighten siya, less potent na yun. This is especially applicable to ground spices. May mga herbs like rosemary and thyme na matagal mag last yung amoy kahit pa medyo pumutla na sila. Basta pag amoy amag or alikabok, discard mo na.

^^ Yes, the package is normally as big as the ones used for Nori. To give you an idea on its appearance...It literally looks like dried up leather sis. Matigas siya and deep green na almost black. Tapos parang minsan may white siya na streaks, probably because of the salt content. Sometimes, you buy it in sheet form. Sometimes, it's all coiled and bunched up. I bought mine dati sa Landmark grocery. I've also seen it sa mga Japanese stores.

Bought some spices from robinson. The garlic powder is a disppointment. Bakit ganun? Ang laki ng difference. I guess spices are not like Salt and pepper na they all taste the same. Brand matters?
