On getting a tattoo (Thread 2)

^Well sa friends ko naman na may tats at pabalik-balik na sa abroad for work eh okay lang naman as long as hindi offensive yung tattoo and just be a little discreet kung saan mo ipapalagay. Like yung nurses kong friends abroad, they just wear long sleeves under scrubs.
Though I have a friend na hindi pa rin makakuha ng work sa Pinas kasi yung tattoo nya nasa neck, which is too visible. Saka sa sales sya nag-apply. May full sleeve tats din sya, natatago pag naka long sleeves sya, pero yung sa neck talaga ang hindi nya matatago kasi yun agad ang kita eh.

Pero if hesitant ka naman, don't have it done muna. Dapat talaga buo ang loob mo para di ka magsisi in the long run.

^^actually, dito abroad yong karamihan ng locals me tattoo, considering the madaming Muslim dito.  Pero yong tipong maliliit lang kasi nasa upper back, wrist, etc. di naman yong buong kamay...unless siguro your career is like a stewardess na dapat wala ka talagang tattoo na very prominent.  pero tama din naman ate mo.  abroad muna bago tats, mas madali na magpa-tats after.  ganon ginawa ng friend ko na nurse sa US.

Pajoin. I have the courage, I have the budget, already had an idea what design, i had a target artist already but the  timing... uhh. I really wanna have a tattoo but I'm afraid I might not get chosen when I apply work abroad. I seek advice sa ate ko na nakapag abroad na may tattoo, she said it's okay, but to be sure mag abroad muna daw ako bago magpatats, mas madali daw magpatattoo kesa mag abroad lol. 

siguro sis, depende yan sa field or line of work mo, the placement of your tatt, yung design ng tatt mo, and yung target country na gusto mo puntahan. for one, there are industries or jobs na hindi ganun ka-strict when it comes to tatts. sa field namin (IT), hindi ganun kahigpit. i have IT friends working abroad (SG, MY) and they have tatts, di naman daw naging issue with their employers. second, if your planning to go conservative countries (like Saudi), better not to have any "exposed" tatts especially kung medyo religious yung design. baka kasi maging offensive sa faith nila. another thing, siguro naman sis, kung hindi exposed yung tatt mo, hindi sya magiging issue at all, regardless of what your line of work is, or kung san country ka pupunta. i have a stewardess friend, she has 2 or 3 medium-sized tatts (around 6-10 inches) that are placed on her back and sa ribcage. so kahit sabihing client-facing yung line of work nya, it was never an issue kasi hindi exposed. if you really want the tatt badly, siguro have it placed sa location na hindi ganun ka exposed or madali itago.

thanks sa advice mga sis somwhat related sa Aries sign saka mandala plan ko about 6-8inches sa likod so maybe hindi naman masyado offensive. naisip ko rin na hindi sa part na laging exposed eh.

hi mga sis.gusto ko na din magpatattoo.first time ko.gusto ko sa ribcage. ang dami ko nababasa masakit daw pag ribcage kaya di siya advisable for first timer. kaya lang dun ko lang talaga gusto magpatattoo.sa mga sis natin dito na may tattoo sa ribcage, gaano ba talaga kasakit?medyo malaki ang papagawa ko.gusto ko with colors.kaya ba ng isahang session lang yun o outline lang muna talaga?may kilala ba kayo magaling na artist around Metro Manila?as much as possible babae sana.

yung first tattoo ko newbie ang gumawa, ok lang naman kasi small text sya sa both wrist. no prob naman kay bf/hubby since marami din syang tattoo, palagi nyang concern is tatay ko 

i have plans na isunod yung sa may baba ng batok ko plan ko is butterfly then may sakura blossom kaso di ko alam kanino ko pa ipapagawa. i was planning sa rob galleria andun shop  ni ricky sta ana though meron din akong number ng isang artist from pinta55, meron din artist near NAIA terminal at meron din namang shop (needlejuice) na malapit samin (sumasali naman sila ng dutdutan so i think maganda naman ang credibility nila).

ask ko lang sa inyo, may iba pa ba kayo pwede i-recommend na artists na pwedeng gumawa o mag-customize ng design? yung design ko kasi is nasa isip ko lang at di ko ma-draw kasi di ako marunong mag drawing.

ok rin kung girl artist sa needlejuice kasi may girl artist kaso di ko matyempuhan kapag pumupunta ako. yung isang kinontak kong artist from eclectic once in a blue moon naman magreply.

^^ sis jieunae, my tatt is located sa upper back, but my bf has a lot of tattoos.. two of which are located at his ribcage (both left and right side). malalaki sis yung tatts nya on both sides (hindi lang simpleng text or quote).. according to him, yung ribcage tattoos daw ang pinaka-masakit sa lahat ng ginawa sa kanya.. he has tatts sa shoulders, sa upper back, full back piece, ribcage, upper left side ng chest, and sa legs). hindi daw kinaya ng 1 session each yung ribcage tattoos nya, kasi baka daw himatayin sya sa sakit kung pipilitin na 1 session each lang... hehe.. madami naman sis na magagaling na female tattoo artist (i have mine done by a female tatt artist - katz lorenzana from 55tinta). siguro you just have to check their portfolio para malaman mo ano yung "specialty" nila and if their specialty will work well with the design you have in mind. check ka din ng mga reviews/feedback sa kanila (and their shop as well) online. hope this helps.

natawa lang ako kasi si hubby, sabi niya sa akin, paguwi niya ng pinas at yong kaibigan niya magpapa-tattoo, papalagay na rin daw siya, hehe...pag siya nagpalagay, talagang ako, magpapalagay na rin sa sunod na uwi ko naman

^ naku sis.. as far as i know, wala talaga anesthesia that can totally numb the skin for several hours (yung tipong parang ginagamit for surgery ahh..).. hahaha!  what you can do is take some pain-reliever (like ponstan) 30-45 minutes before the start of your ink session, but it will only lessen the pain, not totally numb the skin.. it will last for about 2-4 hours.. may nabasa din ako na medyo ingatz din dapat sa pain-reliever kasi it thins the blood (i.e. di sya madali mag clot, so medyo magiging madugo yung session). one tip i can give you sis is to eat lots of sweets (candies/chocolate) and keep yourself hydrated (drink plenty of water) before and during the actual session(s). the sweets help the body produce dopamine, which helps the body in controlling the pain.. i did this during my tatt session with katz and effective naman... another tip sis, don't schedule your tatt session a week before and after your monthly period. mas sensitive kasi ang body natin sa pain during that time. hope this helps.

Thanks again for the tips sis slickchick.Worried tuloy ako.I think medyo mataas naman ang tolerance ko sa pain.Iniisip ko lang if enough ba yun tolerance na yun since never ko pa naexp yun tat.So wala talaga akong idea.Isa ko pang pinoproblema e malakas ang kiliti ko sa tagiliran as in kahit massage di ko kaya hahaha.Ayoko naman magpatry sa ibang part ng katawan ko.Haii.Mag iipon muna ako ng lakas ng loob.Salamat ulet sis.It will help a lot

First and only tat ko sa right ribcage. Wala ako preparation. Mataas lang talaga pain tolerance ko I think hehe Pakiramdam ko noon parang hinihiwa ako hahaha Pero after, gusto ko agad ng follow up na tat. Hindi ko lang natuloy wala pa ako maisip na design hehe Ayaw na ayaw ni bf (now hubby) noon na magpalagay ako kasi lagi ko sya ask. Nakita nya lang kasi biglaan nung..... hihi haha Wala na sya nawaga lolz

I'm very happy with my one month old tattoo sa forearm ko.. tee hee!!
So, I'm getting a new one next month, sa side naman ng wrist.
dati ayaw na ayaw ni bf na magpa-tat ako, pero pumayag din sya so sinamahan na lang nya ako.
After non, gusto na rin nya magpa-tat kaya sabay kami magpa-ink next month.. Para after na ng mga beach parties, kasi bawal sya maexpose sa sun kaya di pa ako makapagpa-tat ngayon..

^ I have one on my right inner wrist. It's not as painful as I remember. Mas nasaktan ako sa tat ko on my upper back (or baka dahil sobrang mas malaki siya kaya damang-dama ko 'yung pain ).

nope. though may mararamdaman kang sting lalo na dun sa hand na palagi mo ginagamit. pero other than that wala na
