On getting a tattoo (Thread 2)

^ awwww.. i know there are some fields/industries na medyo mahigpit nga when it comes to tattoos. pero sis, kapag sa isang area na pwede itago (like sa back or sa sleeve area), hindi rin ba pwede sa work mo?

this was one question i had to check when i was planning for my tatt. swerte lang kasi there are a couple of people in the office na may tatts. one of my manager friends also has one. and sya mismo nag-confirm na hindi naman bawal sa amin.

^actually ang naiisip ko lang na pwedeng lagyan na di maeexpose would be my singit. seriously. lol. yung senior ko dati she had a tattoo sa nape, never na sya nag ponytail since then haha. i was thinking of the same thing kaso, what wait, pixie cut nga pala ko. haha

gusto ko kase talaga sa paa. even sa may inner part ng ankle kase hindi pwede unless magpapalit ako ng buong shoe selection ko. sana one day makapagpalagay ako. and sana hindi ako idisown ng nanay ko pag meron na. haha

^ actually sis, yung sa akin, i'm planning to have it done habang on a trip yung nanay at tatay ko. nakakahiya man aminin, i'm on my 30's na pero i'm still worried that my dad will go berserk pag nakita nya yung tatt ko (partida na i have my own work na and i'll be paying the tatt from my own savings). hindi ko na muna sinasabi ngayon kasi baka isang bundok ng sermon at pray over ang abutin ko. kaya gulatan na lang ang peg pag-alis at pagbalik nila. at least hindi na nila pwede ipatanggal kapag nakita nila. haha!

I have one sa shoulder. It starts from the back of my left ear hanggang sa upper arm. Runs across my entire left shoulder.

Pretty long and i just paid my officemate who was a tatt artist around 500 php hehe

for me, mas sexy at sacred pag hindi expose yung work of art. i create my own design, color, etc. according sa meaning ng tattoo ko so i know at sure ako ng wala akong kapareho.

when i went to Thailand, everything is set for me to have a Sak Yant Tattoo From a Monk. kaso, worried ako magkasakit since they don't change needles. i dont want any blood work done and despite how amazing the experience will be, it’s not worth catching a disease. para sure, i need some blood extracted on me first para pagbalik ko, i can have the blood work done. ang problema? i dont reach 50kg which is a basic requirement to become a blood donor.

next target ko is about my baby since im expecting my first born! excited much

^ good for you sis. you are artistically-inclined and you can create your own designs.  as for me naman, since i'm not good in illustrating, i try to be very very specific with what i want with my tattoo design. as of now nga, my tattoo artist and i are having some discussion on the design kasi may mga comments ako about the initial design she made. i also ask some insights from my artist friends with regards to the blending of colors and yung use of space sa design.

the location of my would-be tattoo is also a bit hidden - upper back, a bit near the nape. in case i need to hide it, i would simply let my long hair down or i could wear a shirt or blouse na hindi exposed yung back ko.

good luck sis on your next tatt. since it is about your first-born, i'm sure the tatt would be more special and definitely more memorable.

matagal na namin plan ng husband ko to get inked. but hanggang ngayon e plan pa din hehe sa akin kasi wala akong maisip na design, i want it to be meaningful kasi. husband ko naman madami na siyang naisip na design hindi lang siya makadecide saan niya ipapalagay.

^ hi sis seven82!! glad to find you in this thread. hindi lang pala washi tapes ang common interest natin. haha!

yung sa akin sis, it was around 3-4 years in the planning, conceptualizing, researching, and even "ipon" stage. ngayon lang (end of April-first week of May) magma-materialize lahat ng research and preparations na ginawa ko over the past 3-4 years. pati meaning nung tattoo design ko, ni-research ko rin kasi lifetime mark yung tattoo. pati nga yung pain levels sa iba't ibang part ng katawan, ni-research ko rin. pati na rin yung things to-do, before, during, and after, kino-compile at nire-review ko na rin now. and syempre, pati yung research sa tattoo artist and tattoo shops, ginawa ko rin. i'm also thankful sa mga sis natin dito sa GT kasi i learned a lot sa inputs nila. konting tyaga lang sis sa pagri-research at pagtatanong-tanong if you and your hubby want to get inked. it would also be helpful sis, kung may talent ka or si hubby sa art para super sakto sa gusto mo yung design. kung wala ka naman talent (like me), it would be nice to have artist friends na kayang magbigay ng inputs and suggestions sa mga ideas mo. good luck sis!

Nakatago kasi for my profession, sabi ko eh pag nanalo ako sa lotto at hindi na kailangang humarap sa mga judge, dun lang ako papalagay sa nape or shoulders hehe saka tinago ko din nakakahiya sa future in laws kasi baka conservative hahaha

Plano ko pa dagdagan sa wrist, sa spine (?) at left ribcage hehe

This tattoo ay tinanong ko kay bf, kaso ayaw nya talaga as in No.. Hahaha matigas kasi ulo ko so I still went for it.. Nung nagouting kami, natapat ako sa mirror.... Surprise!

I actually have designs na, tamad pa and may right timing lang for each tat kasi hehe

I have two tattoos on my left arm and I am very proud of them! 

One is a small fleur de lis. (Coz my name is Flordelis)
The other one is a Baybayin script (commonly known as alibata) of my lola's nickname for me.

And I am going to get more!

anyone here who could recommend a good tattoo artist around pasig, mandaluyong, qc or makati area? I'm more concerned of the quality of the ink that will be used.. yung hindi nagffade, not sure if it's because of the ink or proper care, but I'm seeing people wearing several tattoos, some are faded, some still looks new kahit matagal na.  Yung officemate ko, his first tat was done by Gene Testa, sobrang gusto ko yung tattoo na un, kasi ang gandaganda pa rin ng ink, until now mukang bago pa rin.. while yung iba nyang tattoo na mas recent e mas faded na.  Unfortunately tho, hindi ko na makita si Gene Testa sa Rob Galleria.

finally got my 1st tatt last saturday.  i can gladly say that the 4 years of planning, researching, and waiting was worth it. my tatt was 5-6 inches in length and was placed on the upper back so aabot sya kahit paano sa spine. there was a bit of pain though dun lang sa portions na close sa buto. not the type of pain na hihimatayin or sisigaw ka sa sakit. or baka magaan lang kamay nung tattoo artist ko (katz lorenzana) or masaya lang yung vibe dun sa tatt shop (55tinta) last weekend, kaya my mind was off the pain. kinakabahan tuloy ako ngayon.. sabi ko before i only want 1 tatt.. ngayon nakakaisip na ako ng 2nd or 3rd.. nakupo.. hahaha!

so true sis Lady Blue!! in the middle of my tatt session, bigla ko naisip ano kayang maganda at meaningful na 2nd tatt and saan ko naman pwede ipalagay na discreet pa rin. shucks.. mukhang totoo yata yung common comment na possible ka ma-addict. hahaha! 

sis seven82, gora na sis! for your 1st tatt, think of something meaningful for you. para just in case, may pain ka ma-feel (which is bearable naman), hindi ka biglang mag-backout kasi meaningful yung 1st tatt mo.

hi mga sis. question lang po to those who have tatts na. my tatt is currently in the healing stage (mag-2wks pa lang this coming sat). i religiously follow the after care instructions provided by my artist and tattoo shop. yesterday my cousin noticed na parang may 2 spots yung tatt na parang nagfi-fade yung color. the other areas are ok naman. i cannot see it personally kasi sa upper back yung tatt ko.  my cousin accompanied me during the actual tatt session so alam nya yung original look nung tatt. i sent an email to the tatt shop to inquire kung normal ba talaga yun or if pwede nila i-retouch. still waiting for their reply. ask ko lang sana mga sis, after it has been applied, kailan usually pwede iretouch yung tattoo? and pwede kaya ako magrequest ng discount for the retouch (since it has only been almost 2wks since I had my tatt done)? bigla naman ako na-disappoint... hayyyy...

take it easy sis  normal lang yan. matingkad talaga pag bagong lagay.. then while healing, it will create scabs so parang ang dating e nagfefade. give it a month or so. healed na yon that time at makikita mo talaga ang tunay na color.

depende kasi yan sa ink, how deep yung pag apply at skin color mo. syempre, kung maputi ka at colored ang tattoo mo, mas maganda ang kakalabasan.
