On getting a tattoo (Thread 2)

I've got my 3rd ink yesterday it's quite a big one on my left rib. People are wondering how was the feeling and the pain. Pain scale of 1-10, I would say 11 Lol ! . So far the most painful part ever. If you're not good at handling pain, don't get that spot. Endorphins didn't die with me, so got fooked at the last touch. Now, may lagnat ako.

Lol jtansanco ! Nung una, duda at nag aalangan yung mga artist na gawin sa akin kasi nga maliit ako at yung body frame ko. Pero nairaos ko naman ang 4 hrs session. ^ Ayos tattoo ah. Masakit nga yan! Ang dami kailangan i-shade na part. Buti nakayanan mo. Yung iba kasi dumudugo or namamaga yung part pagsobrang sakit e.

Thanks jtansanco. Masakit yung shading nung tatlong feathers, tapos malaki pa. Parang pinapaso ! Nakayanan kasi tiis ganda. Kapag ginusto dapat kayanin. Lol  Daming dugo saka namaga after. May highlighting pa ginawa yung artist pero hindi ko na kinaya, kaya pina stop ko na. Kasi naman ibang klase yung needle na ginamit yun yata pinaka masakit na needle ginamit nya.  Sa mga mag papatattoo goodluck at I-enjoy nyo lang.

Hi girls. Apparently, nagising ako one day na gusto ko ng tattoo. It's a 3 word latin phrase lang. Maliit lang plan ko sa lower right side ko sana near my pelvic bone. I just want a tat. Do you have any idea how much would that cost and can yous suggest a tattoo place na sure safe naman ang equips na ginagamit nila?

And another thing, is it true na may mga employers na di ka iha-hire once nalaman na may tattoo ka?

^ sis, the running rate nowadays is P3000 for a 3x3 tatt if I am not mistaken, Philtag rate yan. As for legit, clean and licensed tatt shops, pag member the Philtag, for sure ok yun. Dami naman na tatt shops, do your homework nalang and research, check their webpage if they have, that way you can assess if magaling nga yung artist. Dami rin naman big names na sa tatt so ang malas mo nalang if hindi licensed yung mahanap mo, it's a rare case na.

About employment, I haven't been judged with the tattoos and piercing that I have, I just don't know sa medical field and others, pero sa corporate world, wala pa naman discrimination.  If you fear na majudge ka bec of body art, I suggest you get it on the part that can be easily hidden by clothes or small lang muna para discreet.

^Thanks. Excited na ako. haha. I work in the corporate world too that's why I am planning on putting my tattoo somewhere I can hide. Medyo nag-alangan lang ako when I read na it can affect employment daw. Not it my current company though ha...maybe sa iba kasi just in case maisipan kong lumipat?

And is it true you cannot donate blood anymore if you get a tattoo? I don't really donate blood naman. Pero I never know baka I need to save a life someday. Thanks

plano ko din magpatattoo kaso naisip ko naman madalas kasi bawal sa trabaho. hindi sila natanggap ng meron. pero kasi gusto ko yung infinity, sabi ng kaibigan ko non ano daw bang feeling ko at gusto ko non kung astig daw ba sabi ko hindi kasi di ba ang infinity parang 8 <- paikot ikot lang siya, hindi natatapos parang yung pinagdadaanan kong mga problema matapos man may dadating na naman peor nalalagpasan ko pa rin.

sorry sis I have to disgree with you on this, maraming underground artists ang merong big names sa tattoo industry. It's just so happened na not everyone is into Philtag's policies or standard. I got my first tattoo way back 2005 or 6 from a known artist which is ka-batch ni Ricky Sta ana and chose not to be a member of Philtag. It doesn't mean na if hindi licensed or Philtag member ang isang artist is hindi sterilized ang needle, or hindi na magaling. Same with music maraming underground artists ang may potential but they are not given a chance since masyadong naka focus sa mainstream ang tao. And some of them choose to remain in the underground scene because it's their choice. And paki-include na din sa research ang P.U.T.A. or (Philippine Undergound Tattoo Artist, Pinoy Body Arts, P.I.N.T.A etc.) You can also check these artists which aren't included as Philtag members Chris Garcia (Pacman's artist), Jaime Tudd (also Pac's artist, Quizon's artist (RIP Dolphy), Dyani Lao etc. they're everywhere. Anyway malapit na rin pala Dutdutan. Happy inkin'!

I just got my first tattoo and its good na I expected it to be very painful that I'd cry coz that didn't happen. Even played Plants Vs Zombies while having a tattoo. haha.

And oh no...I am planning on having a second one. Mine is a 3-word Latin quote lang kasi...parang every phrase that I like I want to have it tattooed on me! hahaha...I got mine for 2K at P&P. A bit pricey ata considering na its only black ink and the procedure took only 20 mins.

no thank you for me ... I'd rather have those temporary tattoos (henna and peel off) than being inked forever.  Mahina ang threshold ko sa pain and I am comfortable with the skin that I have.
