On getting a tattoo (Thread 2)

thing is, i want to get a tattoo NOW, before i lose interest again.

my question is naman, what if you get the tattoo now and lose interest again later?

Ang galing, no sis? Naju-justify niya yung permanence, kasi art kung art talaga. Not to diminish yung mga icons na may mabigat na personal meaning. Preference ko lang kung body art ko, ganyan.

^^me too, at first white tattoo gusto ko sa wrist ko. kaya lang kelangan magaling yun tat. artist or magiging peklat yung itsura. depende din sa design na ipapagawa. im looking forward sa 2nd tattoo ko, 0.5" lang sa likod ng ears. i want it in white din. letter "W" pero pagisipan ko siya ng at least 6mos siguro. yung cross ko kasi im not sure if gustong gusto ko talaga. kasi impulsive lang.

next week na pala yung Dutdutan 2011 Tattoo Convention sa World Trade Center... curious ako, i want to go.. baka makakuha ng idea sa okay na artist at sa price range for the design that i want... question nga po pala mga sis.. sino or ano nga ba yung tattoo shop na nasa robinson's galleria? an officemate recommended this kasi magaling daw yung artists dun and magaan pa ang kamay... thanks in advance po sa replies!

^si Gene Testa lang kilala ko na nasa rob gale sis. some artists had their tattoos done there. yung apprentice niya ang most likely gagawa, request mo nalang siya if ever. sknia ako nagpagawa ang con lang sa kanya is walang after-care na sasabihin, tanong mo nalang. lalagyan lang naman ng petroleum jelly hehe.

sis petroleum jelly lang ilalagay? lalagyan ba ng pads para matakpan yung tattoo kasi syempre sugat yun di ba? sorry for my ignorance. hehe. magwowork pa kasi ako after ko magpatattoo (if ever ha!) sa galle e. kelangan matakpan, or else, patay ako sa sakit nun!

ako din sis, bumalik ako work after magpa-tat sa wrist, right hand pa. hmmm, depende san mo ipapalagay, pero pag natamaan siya masakit! sumabit kasi wrist ko countless times sa bag hehe. di din makapagtype kasi sasayad sa keyboard. -_-

anyway, after kasi may iba siyang ilalagay na ointment. hindi na niya tatakpan, unless malaki talaga siya or nasa part na didikit sa damit. then bili ka na lang ng petroleum jelly sa mercury para lagyan siya next day and for 1-2weeks, para hindi mabasa and hindi magdry. apply ka lang ng apply.

thanks sa info sis!  magaan ba talaga ang kamay nya, as in hindi ganun kasakit? i'm planning to have mine done kasi sa gawing batok area, slightly above my spine. im also worried na baka sumabit sa damit. and paano yun tattoo mo kapag kailangan mo maligo the next day? hindi ba sya mamamaga or papasukin ng tubig? thanks po ulit!

sis hindi ba masakit magpalagay ng tattoo sa likod ng ears??

pano kung maghahanap ng work?? may mga company ba na required dapat na walang tattoo yung mga employee??  curious lang..

@slickchick: magaan kamay niya sis. sa may batok lalagyan niya ng bandage yan. lagyan mo na lang ng petroleum jelly before maligo para hindi mabasa, and masakit din yan if nabasa hehe. basta, keep it moist for 2 weeks.

@iceylicious: pwede mo naman itago ang tattoo if sa ears siya pag mag-aapply ka ng work medyo masakit daw sa likod ears kasi manipis na balat dun.

^ sis, with regards to job-hunters and tattoos, i think depende rin siguro sa field of work na gusto mo pasukan. i've heard (though i'm not sure) na sa medical field, medyo particular sila if you have tatts. sa mga mas less traditional fields (like advertising and IT), hindi sila ganun ka-particular if the applicant has tatts or not.

I've had my 1st tattoo done last April, and guess what? I had my 2nd tattoo done last week. Very addicting. I'll post the picture of my latest tattoo when it's fully healed.

Meron din pa lang thread na ganito dito. I'm planning to have one before mag end ang 2011. May artist na ko.. ang prob ko lang paano ko mattranslate ng alibata yung papa tattoo ko.. Kelangan ba ako ang magdadala ng design (naka alibata na) or yung artist na ang magttranslate?

^sis, translate mo na lang para sure. may kilala kasi ako medyo mali pag-translate sa kanya. permanent pa naman yun, hehe.
