3 reasons why you do experience breakouts after having TCA Peel:
1) your skin was too dry during the peel,
2) the antibiotic or anti-itch cream was too heavy for your skin, or
3) you did the peel while you had active acne or clogged pores


TCA Peel Side Effects
- Burning your skin
- Persistent redness
- Pigmentation changes
- Scarring or infection
- Post-peel breakouts
- Sun sensitivity

Don't get a TCA Peel if
- you are using Roaccutane (Accutane) or have used it in the last 24 months
- you are pregnant or lactating
- your skin is prone to keloids (or raised scars)
- you have dark skin
- you have herpes simplex and/or are prone to cold sores
- you are undergoing chemotherapy or radiation treatments
- you are HIV positive or have AIDS

TIPS
- stop using prescription skin care products, 3 days before having a peel... resume using them 2 weeks after the peel
- don't forcibly peel or pick at any skin that is peeling... it will cause that area to scar and heal improperly
- as much as possible, avoid the sun! TCA peel makes our skin super sensitive to the sun...
- while you are experiencing peeling, DON'T use any scrubs, medicated cleansers, or treatment products...
- if you are breaking out from the peel, don't apply any spot treatments because you could burn or permanently damage your skin (which is why you shouldn't get TCA peels when you have active acne).

^ thanks sis. i think i brokeout dahil nga naexfoliate ang skin ko, kasi kahit gumamit kang ako ng scrub sa face oang exfoliate, the next day breakout galore na ko. my skin is super sensitive.

anyways, its been 1 week post tca peel at ngbabalat padin ako, smooth skin kaya lang nagka pimple ako

Thanks to this thread, i learned the art of TCA peeling (in my lower legs and knees). I bought mine in ebay 20% yun, the seller instructed me to apply it in 3 consecutive nights at 2 coatings since its my first time.

What I did is applied it 2 coats in 2 consecutive nights lang kasi i get trauma with the stings. hehe. thankfully nagpeel nman ako nicely. Though di pa complete but I can see improvements na.

Pwede din kaya sa tummy area? can it help lighten the stretchmarks? ilang coats should i apply? TIA

Aha! Now I know why I broke out almost 2 weeks after my TCA peel. Nagtaka ako pagpasok ng January naglabasan pimples ko na malalaki. tca pala me kagagawan nito

sis what do you mean when you have dark skin? So it's not advisable for morenas? i'm planning to do diy tca peel for the butt area.

^for uneven skin tone --> darker skin tones should also avoid getting TCA peels can cause uneven pigmentation (either through hyperpigmentation or hypopigmentation)...

glycolic peel is the strongest of the superficial peels and is effective at treating mild hyperpigmentation on darker skin tone

girls, i need your opinion.

i have pimple marks on my back that i want lightened. my derma is offering TCA peeling for the back (with cleaning and diamond peel) for P1,000. is that a fair price?

i will try this maybe at the end of this month..sa legs ko, kainis kasi super dami ko peklat puro itim pa due to insect bites (pulgas) sigh super pangit talalga, sana matanggal ng tca peel ang problem ko..

how many days after the TCA Peel na you should avoid the sun? kasi we are going to bora sa Holy Week and im thinking of going to the derma to have TCA Peel this march.

Also, tuwing kelan kayo nagpapa TCA Peel sa Derma? Every 6 mos?

it's actually better if you're on tret before undergoing TCA. Isang Pre-treatment necessity ang retinoic acid to facilitate uniform penetration of the chemical during treatment.

my friend complained her forehead is shiny (parang oily minus the oil)
when hindi naman ganun dati yung skin nya..

i didn't stop my glyco cream prior to TCA.

im not sure if the same goes for you since iba iba naman concentration ng topicals natin. you can ask your derma if you need to stop it temporarily prior to TCA.

is it okay to have tca peel when you have atleast 2 pimples?? is this more effective and instant??? nababagalan talaga ako sa effect ng DP, parang walang nangyayare. grabe gusto ko na tanggalin mga dark spots ko sa face! andami tsk

^to hasten the lightening of the scars, you may opt to combine dp/pp + chemical peel... then use whitening soaps/toner & whitening cream (arbutin / kojic) or vitamin c
