HMO Maternity Coverage

Hi mga sis...

ask ko lang po about HMOs and their maternity coverage...

we have Intellicare as our HMO provided by my office... nakalagay po doon na no maternity benefit.

si hubby naman may Maxicare provided din ng office nila... although di kasali ang dependents pero we're willing to pay extra if maxicare will cover prenatal, postnatal, delivery etc...

may idea ba kayo mga sis kung papano at kung how much if ever na ipapacover ang maternity sa Intellicare or Maxicare?

same here sis, may maxicare ako dito sa office pero di ko alam kung covered... sabi yung OB check up is covered pero di ako sure kung pati follow up check ups covered

ang alam ko kasi pregnancy is not included sa hmo kasi yun ang sabi nung previous hmo namin... hindi sakit ang pregnancy kaya di siya covered

i used to work for a company na maxicare ang hmo na covered ang pregnancy(delivery, pre and post natal check ups). for cs 40k  at nsd 30k ang covered. depende ito sa company that you are connected with. may alam naman akong company na lahat talaga covered for the delivery. this isn't available for individual or family account.

depende sa inavail ng company nyo. yung ibang HMO during check-up lang sya pwede gamitin, other than that wala na, bayad ka na. katwiran nga nila hindi naman sakit ang pregnancy kaya di nila covered, pero di nila naiisip na masakit magbuntis at manganak hehe. anyway merong company naman na may covered sila during delivery pero yung room rate lang at tama si sis emmylou may maximum na sasagutin lang. pag swerte sa company covered nila maternity pero usually mga call center mga ito, base lang sa mga nababasa ko

yung HMO namin sa office Intellicare din, i think ang kaya nya i-cover is 14 pre-natal visits after nun, bayad ka na.

my experience with Maxicare, dependent kasi ako ng husband ko, covered din lahat ng check-ups (pre and post natal), delivery (25K for CS) pero ang mga labortory tests na intended for pregancy hindi covered.

ang advice ng OB ko noon is to check directly sa HMO, call their customer service para malaman yung extent ng coverage nyo then ask if possible yung option na mag add na lang kayo for the additional coverage.

Ours is maxicare. Covered ang pre and post natal check ups, but not included yung diagnostic tests and ultra sounds. Covered din ang delivery but up to 18K lang ata for normal and 50K for CS

Mine naman is cocolife. hindi covered ang delivery, pre and post natal check ups lang. pero pwede reimburse yung nagastos mo.

mine is Intellicare. 15 prenatal check ups lang ang covered.

my cousin who works in Ayala has Cocolife (I think), covered lahat.

sa intellicare din kame. depende sa company talaga yung coverage. samen, covered yung mga checkups pero pag sa mga clinic lang, pag sa hospital ka nagpacheckup may bayad na.

di covered ang delivery and mga lab tests pero pag kaw yung member mismo, meron pwedeng mareimburse na 25k pag normal, forgot how much yung CS. wala naman pag dependent ka lang.

swerte yung mga company na covered ang delivery. nakakainggit, sobrang laking tulong yun. yung sa cousin ko, di covered yung delivery pero sa HMO ng husband nya dependent din sya eh covered yung delivery. kaya kahit CS sya, carry na din since wala namang bayad.

i think pwede ma cover ang lab work (well, at least some!) basta yung requesting doctor is HMO-accredited
for example, yung cbc pwede yan i-cover in reality, pero checheck nila if yung requesting physician ba is accredited sa kanila... pag oo, libre na cbc.

i think it depends sa:
company you work for, your position (the higher the position, dumadami ang benefits) and HMO provider.

maxicare ako pero ang covered lang sa akin ay prenatal and post natal check ups. di covered ang lab tests (naka-indicate dun na all lab tests are covered EXCEPT pregnancy related) nakakainis nga e.

I will have to double check with maxicare. baka naman other than the check ups may ma-cover pa sila!

If your HMO is company paid, there's really nothing you can do if walang maternity coverage cus that's the contract between your company and the provider. Usually kase ang maternity coverage ng HMO are shouldered by the company as an additional benefit. Like with my previous company, we had Maxicare and it had maternity benefits cus paid for by the company yon. When I moved to my current company, maxicare din HMO namin but walang maternity coverage.

Usually ang cino-cover lang ng HMO is pre and post natal check ups. So when I found out I was pregnant, we started saving up na talaga kase even the lab tests, hinde ico-cover ng HMO yan.

I agree. You should consult with your Office's HR or you may call your HMO office just to be sure and to save up in case may mga di mako-cover. Mahal pa naman talaga manganak.

Depende rin kasi sa contract yan between HMO at ng company mo eh. For big companies like mine, may 3 HMOs na nagbid para maging health provider ng employees. Nanalo yung pinakamura and at the same time pinakamaraming benefits.

Laking pasalamat ko sa Diyos at yung winning HMO ng company namin ay may full maternity benefits na kasama. Covered post at prenatal checkups at delivery. Malaki rin ang maximum health coverage so wala kaming ilalabas na pera pagkapanganak ko next month.

i've already asked our HR... check-ups lang ang covered ng intellicare for us...

by April we might change back to Maxicare daw... i hope the maternity coverage will be better...

Yung sa min naman, unlimited pre and post natal check ups. I wish more companies now would include maternity benefits cus super important yan. In my previous company, andameng female employees ang sukang-suka na and gustong mag-resign but because of the nice health coverage, hinde nila magawa. Libre kase up to 2 dependents kahit first level employee pa lang, may medicine allowance yearly (20k), and may maternity coverage for NSD and CS.

Sa akin naman is MEDICARD covered up to 50K ang normal delivery at 70K ang CS.

My company's hmo s maxicare and covers pre/post natal and delivery up to 150k. I had no cash out for my hospital stay (cardinal santos) but had to cover my OB's pf as she is not maxicare accredited, i was able to claim 15k. It's the same for male employees and their wives
