malapit lang pala yung store ni Atong sa pinagbibilhan namin. May nadiscover akong store along Narra St. (near Tutuban mall) that sells geodes and crystal blocks! =) big pieces of amethyst, citrine, black tourmaline. mas mura siya compared sa binibilhan namin sa binondo.

yung Dragon King store ba ito? okay ba bumili doon? diyan ko binili yung citrine bracelet pero feeling ko fake naman. 400pesos.

^yes sis, katabi ng Dragon King. yun ba yung store that sells New Age Feng Shui stuff? hindi ko napansin if they sell bracelets. first time kong pumasok, nakaharap lang ako sa wall type cabinet niya na punong puno ng geode at crystal blocks. hinawakan ko yung black tourmaline niya ok naman. pati yung nasa sahig na malaking amethyst geode. nagmamadali kasi ako that time kaya hindi ko na naexplore yung store. but i'll be going back one of these days. nabili ko yung black tourmaline ko for php3,500 sa binondo, doon nakita ko around 2K budget malaki na yung mabibili. i'll post feedback kapag nakabalik na ako ulit.

may nakausap akong gem enthusiast and i asked kung pano malalaman if authentic o fake. and sagot niya sa akin, hindi porket mura e fake na, it's more on the gem is of the lesser value. like inexplain niya sa akin yung jade. siyempre kapag outer part daw ang ginamit parang balat lang daw yun mura at iba ang quality. ang mahal e yung inner part.. i have friends in SG na nakakabili ng authentic jade sa mga nagtitinda sa streets. so far jade palang ang nasubukan nilang bilhin at naipasuri na authentic naman.

my opinion naman kasi, hindi dapat mahal ang crystals/gems.. but since isinasama sa designs at more aware na ang mga tao about it kaya nagiging mahal na..

Tama ka dyan.  my collection started about 5 years ago, yung ako buy ha.  Kasi before,  others would give me amethysts, agates, tourquoise etc etc etc... Nang maging "in" na kasi New Age  ek-ek, haynako .. nagsimahalan na prices, although it became easier to find sources..  Tapos, some crystals or stones are passed off as something more expensive.

Ex.:  garnet is not a "fake" but when passed off as a ruby - eh di fake ruby
Topaz is the most abused, coz it comes in all colors.  It is even color enhanced by a lot in India.  So the plain white or light colored ones become "fake" citrines, "fake" aquamarines, etc. etc.   A green or yellow agate is passed of as jade eh di "fake jade"   Ganun.  Of course, there are the nice plastics, hay nako.     

Quality dictates the price, not just the stone/crystal per se.
As in a diamante can be pricier than a diamond.
A rhodochrosite that is pakwan colored beats a regular jade in price.
Fine white sapphire can beat some diamonds in price, ganon.

It all boils down to the Law of Supply & Demand.

SAPPHIRE -- the blue sapphire sold for bracelets is dark blue. Look for the bigger stones ha, na slightly faceted -- that is the best presentation.  Otherwise, it will look blah! kahit na si Anne Curtis ka.

Now BLUE SAPPHIRE as a gemstone ... eto na.
With SAPPHIRES, RUBIES & EMERALDS... tandaan:  it should be clear with a definite color, and when you look at it parang "may fire" inside.   Those are the better qualities.     

Eh di ba may sapphire, emerald, ruby sa Greenhills tiangge.  Hindi yon mga fake, pero  kung baga sa quality, hwag ako batuhin ha, eh by the skin of their teeth or katuntong lang para mag qualify as a sapphire, ruby or emerald.
Pero madami din fake doon ha, be careful.

Be careful with BLACK TOURMALINE. 

May nakita kami ng sister ko, ga hita and talagang gigil ako to bring it home, such a big specimen!
Ewan ko ba, pagkatapos kong tawaran - matagal tawaran,  naisip ko bigla kaskasin 1 end.
Eh di nanlaki ang eyes nung may ari;  nagulat din, and nagalit.
Pero, hello! 
Lumabas ang brown color kung san ko kinaskas with my key tag.
Ano yon? adobe?!  no sale!

Be careful, ang dami nang unscrupulous.

HOW WILL YOU REMEMBER?

haynako, you won't remember all.
The way I went about my second wave of crystal acquisition eh.. I read, tapos: ah! type ko energy nito, or kelangan ko ito!  Then i go searching for it.
so may mga items ako na -- agt the tip of my tongue ang name, hindi ko ma remember what.  But I know that once upon a time, gamit ko 24/7, even to bed.  hay nako.

Most you will remember for what you program it for.  Hindi naman makayanan na you program it like an encyclopedia or Wikepedia, andon lahat ng attributes ng crystal/stone.  1 or 2 lang you pick out and program it accordingly.

Hindi pa naman ako umabot sa you soak the crystals, tapos iniinom in the morning  LOL I have a BFF like that... But what would I know, babaw pa naman knowledge ko about these crystals eh.

GEODES -- those carved out rocks showing the interior with those little protrusions. 
Good for the house, office.  Oo ba!  Pero marami din kalokohan dyan, kasi ang mga mabenta or in demand are the citrine & amethyst.  so they color the blah stones inside... malaman mo na lang later on pag may part na nag chip off... ngek, baket iba kulay? 

oh well, such is life, hwag lang madalas ma loko.       Part of the learning experience.
So if you know your source, ibalik mo doon, demand for a replacement.

how about yung red corals? yung pinapasuot sa baby? totoo ba yon na for protection sa sakit or usog ba?

^Yes, old-time practise yan.
Corals are not really red, they are orange... from light to dark orange.
My babies all wear coral beads... until they are able to sit-up.

Pero hindi ko kinakabit sa wrist... I have it around an ankle.
Small beads I have individually knotted by my jeweler, tapos with a sturdy gold smallclasp na pang baby talaga kasi hindi sasabit kung saan, hindi magasgas ang skin. 
Hindi na ito tinatanggal 24/7.
But once nakaka sit up eh di marunong na magbutingting... tinatanggal ko na at baka ma swallow pa. ngek.

CORALS -- there are very few real corals now.  Yang nakikita nyo sa Greenhills and even in some high end stores na chunks or beads ... naku, fish bone lang yan na colored.  It takes a year to grow an inch of coral.  Tapos, depleted na ang coral reefs.  So what do you think? Meron pa to sell just like that?

If you gotta buy... go look for those vintage brooches or earrings.  Safer bet yon, from a trusted jeweler, or from a relative... hehe.

For those in DJAKARTA -- take advantage!  There are really good crystals and semi precious stones there.  The European jewelry makers/traders based in Bali buy from DJakarta.   
Akala ko sa Middle East mas ok prices ng crystals and semi-precious. Hindi eh, mas mahal pa nga kasi they make it into their worry beads ba yon, or their version of our rosaries... eh ga haba noon ha.

new to the thread. still back reading. i have 2 bracelets which i bought sa C&C. Both I got early last year pa. my first is Citrine w/ DZI and the other one is moon stone. getting more interested with crystals as go thru this thread because fo your posts here.

1000  to 2000  for real good quality corals -- small uniform beads for a baby's fat ankle.    
A trusted jeweler is the best source.   The last time I bought - 3500, pero may  gold clasp na - I gave as a Christening gift - last Dec.

Jade is always  good, corals too.  Hwag mo masyado kabitan  coz their aura is still forming - let them be.   
There was a time my family was in danger -- I had everybody wear  black tourmaline & onyx.

Mga sis, meron ba sa inyo na newly bought ang crystal and didnt program it thru tap / running water..and just simply wore it kasi iba yung energy nya?

I have garnet and while was holding it kanina, ang ganda sa pakiramdam so sinuot ko na lang sya.

Ok lang yan.  Just   cleanse and program when you get the time for it. 

When I was 12 or so, I was given heart-shaped garnets by a jeweler friend of my mom.  Malay ko about crystals then, about  cleansing & programming.    (They look like dark rubies.)    O eh di never ko naman na cleanse and program yon. But I had them set early in our marriage, and felt good wearing these frequently.   

But of course, to maximize the energy you can derive - eh di cleanse and program.

Lol, nainis ako kahapon in a lol-way.  I encountered a very clear light colored gold topaz set as a pendant in yg,  susko  - it was oval and 2inches in height & about a half-inch  thick.   lol, NYC on my mind -- hit yon don.  .  Sabay - paglabas mo, ma-mug ka agad.  Hindi ko maisip where to wear something like that - it was heavy,  kaya  hung on a bundled-leather "necklace".     hindi pa natapos lol dun, linabas a bigger smokey quartz!  Susko. I said:  bye, and run off to Rockwell.   Pero, baket ko
