^Kami sis, nung NCM 104 namin, nagpaseminar din kami... Yung differences ng Pinoy nurse sa Pinas vs. Pinoy nurse sa mundo ni Uncle Sam.

I think ang interesting topic -- for me, that is -- kung ano ang mga option ng RNs and non-RNs after work. If gusto nila magvolunteer, ano gagawin. If gusto nila maghospital talaga, ano gagawin. If gusto nila magprivate sector / clinic setting, if gusto nila magwork sa Middle East, US, Canada, UK... kasi yung mga ganitong info, lahat tayo kapa-kapa and binabase lang natin sa mga sabi-sabi ng mga kakilala or mga naririnig nating chismax. Maganda pag talagang alam ang options, kesa nakatunganga ang mga RN dahil di alam ang gagawin.

Hi sissies, I was asked to organize a seminar for my batchmates but I really don't have any idea on what topic I should prepare for. Please help sisters. At this point in time, do you have anything in mind related to the nursing field which you find interesting? Or  is there any recent seminar that amused you? Thank you very much po!

Hi sisses. I'm a registered nurse din, i passed the local boards last july 3 and 4 2010 and still jobless. Now palang din ako magstastart magcollect ng trainings ko, sana maging worth it naman ang gastos.. haaay..


Sa mga sisters naten na nurse abroad, share naman po kayo ng stories ninyo paano po kayo nakapunta jan, pangpa inspire lang sa amin saka para na din makakuha kame ng tips ano ang gagawin namin kung like namin magpunta abroad . Just like other sisses here, nawawalan na din talaga ako ng gana magvolunteer kasi naman ang trabaho diba parang staff nurse na, tapos tingin sayo ng patients studyante pa din. Pero papatulan ko na kasi parang no choice na talaga ako ehh. haay kung may pang puhunan lang ako di na ako mag pupursue sa profession na ito..  (pasensha po at nagdrama pa..)

On the other hand, Kainis naman din kasi talaga ang PNA, walang ginagawa para ilift ang propesyon naten, ang mahal2 pa ng membership fee. Ano nga ba ginagawa nila dun sa membership fee? kasi mga training din dun sa PNA ang mahal pa din though may discount, mahal pa din sya. Sana man lang ginawa na nilang free, pangdagdag gastos lang ito kung wala din lang magandang benefits..


anyways, saan po ba ang first thread nito? gusto ko din kasing magbackread. thanks mga sisses, let's just hope na bigyan pansin naman ang mga nurses dito sa pinas.

speaking of abroad, has anyone here heard of a nurse na naka-petition for immigrant na na-deny sa US embassy because she's not practicing nursing here in the philippines?

My friends are worried kasi we've been waiting for our visas for almost 4yrs na. since walang hospital work, they opted to just work in a different field. however, should the priority date becomes current, madeny kaya sila?

last i heard, experience is not a factor. now, i'm not really sure.

Any thoughts on this? thanks sisses!

Hi there fellow RNs! Just passed the exam last july 2011 and until now, unfortunately, I still don't have a job. Passed several resumes here and there, pero wala pa din Can someone please share any agency for canada, australia and new zealand... Do they require work experience ba?

Ang problema kasi sa nurses pumapayag maging volunteer. Bakit nga naman magha-hire pa ang mga ospital ng babayarang staff nurse Kung meron namang libre ang serbisyo- sabi yan ng kakilala kong doktor, and tama nga naman siya.

^so true kaya ako okay lang maghintay ng matagal basta hindi volunteer nurse. Abusado din kasi yan mga hospitals na kumukuha ng volunteers, super take advantage sa weakness ng nursing field. Hindi na nga properly compensated ang mga nurses naten dito, gusto pa free. Overworked naman most fo the time. I hope the goverment do something about this.

ako naman mga sis, I also disapprove false volunteerism..BUT I was once a volunteer nurse for about 3 months. I guess, 3  months of volunteer work would be beneficial on our newly grad nurses. Aside from helping the patients and the institution, it's a way to have a taste of what the responsibilities are that goes with our license. Kasi ibang iba pa rin yung student nurse, parang preceptorship na rin ang dating. Kasi I believe na yung 5 months na yun strengthened my skills and enhanced my capabilities and confidence. Kasi kumbaga, yun yung time na puwede mo na gawin lahat eh. I enjoyed those 3 months of my life because I learned a lot. pero sana maximum of 6 months lang tapos i-hire na.

Does anyone here applying for NCLEX at Vermont Board of Nursing? I have a question with their required CES report, professional or academic? I was thinking na professional pero parang I've read sa allnurses forum that they need a full course by course evaluation. Eh wala na kasi ganitong option dun sa CGFNS, either prof or academic lang. Then eto yung mga fees: $335 for the CES, $150 for the application in vermont plus the $200 for nclex exam (pearson vue). Another pa pala, yung full course by course cost $385 while yung professional/academic $335. Confusing lang talaga to saken

^CES professional yung sa akin, $335 ata. I got my license last January 2012. Btw, sa California yung nclex ko then after 3 years ni-endorse ko sa Vermont para magka-license na kasi sa California walang license, papel lang na nakapasa ka ng nclex. Nakailang follow up ako kasi ang tagal nilang mag release ng license, inabot ng 6 months.

^Thanks! And diba kelangan lang nila is the highschool diploma so hindi na necessary yun sa primary, only the details. Gano katagal yung process mo from cgfns until mabigyan ka ng att? Process kami ngayon ng brother ko ng cgfns so most likely later this year na kami makakapag-exam. Target pa naman sana namen mga middle part of the year. Self review ka lang or nagreview center ka pa? Congrats, btw

^yung sa CGFNS parang naghintay ata ako ng 3-4 months bago mapasama sa roster, nung 2007 pa kasi nag CGFNS kaya medyo limot ko na sis. Yung ATT ata ay sa NCLEX? taga province kasi ako sis at nung time na yun wala pa dito mga review center at wala akong materials for self review. kaya nag reveiw ako sa Manila sa may PUP Sta. Mesa sa RUN (Review University for Nurses) dito rin nag aattend ang school namin ng review ng local board nung 2004.

hello mga sis! Im Yella nga pala..  ahm, kakapasa ko lang ng July Board Exam last year.. pero hanggang ngayon tambay pa din ako.. hindi pa ako nag try mag apply.. pero inubos ko naman oras ko sa training ng mga kung ano2.. volunteer din ako sa Red Cross pa minsan minsan.. and then last month nagpasa ako ng requirements sa Manila Doctors for training.. 5 thousand yata yun bayad.. pero hanggang ngayon wala pa silang tawag sa akin.. ayun..

anyway, may balak ba kayo mag work sa Australia? or Saudi? balak ko kasi talaga Australia, pero since nasa Saudi parents ko dun muna ako.. baka dun ako kukuha ng experience.. and then kapag hindi ko nagustuhan mag apply ako sa australia..

^sis check mo sa forms nila (free download) para makita mo yung mga kelangan i-fill out. Nung time kasi na yon ay sa specialty clinic lang ako nagwowork, pero may previous hospital experience ako na 1 year and half lang.

Sa mga sis na nag aantay ng priority date and yet na-abandon na ng petitioning agency, i found a company that re-hires nurses na may existing PD na. Here's the website. Ang PD ngayon is April 2006. Maybe they can help. I found them in a nursing forum as well. This site can be a good read for us nurses too since puro nurses in and out of hospital work ang mga members.

Hi mga colleagues! Its nice to see this thread. I'm a Registered nurse pero hindi ako nakapag work as nurse sa hospital. Pero kahit na hindi ako nagwowork as nurse updated pa rin PRC ID ko.  Since nagraduate ako dahil mahirap kumuha ng job kaya kung ano anong raket na lyung ginawa ko. I'm now happily married but no kids. Napagusapan namin na maging housewife na lang ako since we are planning to go abroad. At least nakatulong yung Pagiging RN ko sa point system for Canada.whew! Pero til now hindi pa rin kami sure kung when kami aalis parang hindi pa kami ready e. kaya for the meantime para may magawa sa bahay nagsa sideline ako ng Vmobile kahit papano nakakapgsave ako parang salary na rin ng employee kaya OK na rin. Then naginvest pa ko sa online job kaya kahit sa house nageenjoy na rin ako. Ayoko kasing dumating yung time na magkalayo din kami just because of money. 

I hope sa lahat ng mga RNs dito at sa mga magiging nurse pa, maging successful tayong lahat sa mga endeavors natin. Sabi nga sa panahon ngayon ang hirap talagang maghanap ng work lalo na sa mga hospitals dito sa dami ng competitors at kunga magaabroad man tayo we have to make sure na worth ang paglayo natin sa mga mahal natin sa buhay. Kasi hindi na mababalik yung time na mawalay tayo sa kanila.
