^ My kids were baptized at Christ the King and sa parish hall (St. Matthew Room) kami nag-reception.  Kasyang-kasya ang 70-80 pax mo doon, dear.  Napili ko kasi ang hall among other venues kasi mid-December ako nagpabinyag and ayokong ma-hassle sa traffic ang guests kung palipat-lipat ng venue.  Ang mura ng rate (nasa 3k yata or even less tanungin mo na lang ang parish office) kaya nakapag-splurge ako sa food, dessert, photo and favors that time.   Kapag maayos ang caterer and if you want, mag-balloons ka ng konti, maganda at appropriately festive na ang place.

@josah, di ko alam ang policy nila with food carts. sorry. pero may kitchen at dressing room w/ own restroom. tapos kung rocker/club theme ang party may parang dj booth sila sa mezzanine na pwede naman gamitin. dati daw kasi sa alchemy yung place.

tomorrow ko pa lang matatawagan decagon to check the availability sa date na gusto ko. hopefully open pa. yeah via mare nga lang caterer sa WW ngayon, wala tuloy ako pagpilian. pati nga dessert/ candy buffet na kukunin ko di ko alam kung maniningil din sila ng corkage ;( problem fully paid nako sa WW, 20% daw cancellation fee.

@ olga_0930...kaya namin napili initially ang bahay ng alumni kasi malaki and pwede kahit sino supplier. sa ganda naman, di masyado nakaka-impress pero pwedeng pagandahin sa styling. ito yung phone numbers nila: 920-6871, 920-6868 and 929-8327, look for jeghn. 8k per hour ang new rate nila pero all-in na, no more additional payments for electricity, security, maintenance.

@josah, sayang naman yung 20% cancellation fee baka naman pwede mag-request na wala nang corkage sa mga papasok niyong food carts and candy station.

^yeah sayang, actually natanggap ko na din naman kung may corkage ang lahat ng ipapasok sa kanila sinabi naman na nila from the start, naiinis lang ako kasi nagpa pencil book din ako sa pavillion nila di naman ako pala ako yun priority. under renovation pa kasi pavillion nila kaya just to make sure na di man mag open agad ang pavillion on our party date, nka reserve naman ako sa banquet. i found out di naman pala agad nilista name ko kaya naging 2nd priority ako sa pavillion.

I brought my own priest kaya hindi mahal ang bayad ko (mas mahal if you get the priest from the CTK parish eh). 

Magulo for me ang mass baptism sa big baptistry.  Nawawala ang solemnity ng occasion.   And plan ko talaga kasi ever since to have my priest-friend baptize my sons so hindi talaga kami puwedeng makisabay sa iba.

Perhaps you can visit the parish one of these days so that you can take a look and see if the venue fits your requirements.

Ah really? Kasi diba parang P3200 ang rate nila for solo baptism? So if I bring my own priest, pwedeng less than P3200 ang bayaran ko miski na solo baptism? Would you know din pala the maximum capacity of St. Matthew's Room? Which caterer did you get pala if you don't mind me asking? I'm choosing between Verleo kasi and blue petals e. Although Verleo pa lang natry ko before and nagustuhan ko naman food quality and service nila. Maliit lang din kasi talaga budget ko kaya yung mga choices ko.

^ Sis, I forgot na talaga how much ang binayaran ko for the solo baptistry pero napaka-reasonable lang talaga.  2007 pa kasi ako nagpabinyag sa CTK.  Inquire ka na lang sa parish office to be sure.

I got CVJ Catering for the food, Elar's for the lechon and Bizu for the dessert buffet.  CVJ provided tiffany chairs.  Apple of Yan-ple supplied balloons and styrocraft (blocks with my twins' names) for the entrance to the St. Matthew Room.  We had 100 guests, nag-spillover ng konti sa labas sa may garden- may tables doon.  Yung buffet tables for the food and dessert, nasa hallway pero maganda naman kinalabasan at pumayag naman ang parish office na doon i-set up ang buffet tables sa hallway kasi di talaga kakayanin ang 100 pax sa loob ng room kung nasa loob ang buffet.  By the way, we gave the people at the parish office food din for the abala.  Pina-serve ko na lang sa waiters, mga 3 or 4 lang naman sila.

mga sisses, share ko lang sa nyo yung nakita kong venue at QC - Gateway Suites. Sa gateway mall mismo. consumable amount of 75k daw tapos may 5 accredited caterers sila. pero magpapalit sila ng management this october kaya di ko alam kung maghintay pa ko (since next year yung birthday pa ni baby) or hanap nalang ako ng iba. google nyo nalang if interested.

Hehe. Sige i'll inquire sa parish mismo to be sure. Di naman nagchcharge ng corkage fee ang either parish or yung caterer if i get my lechon from a different supplier? Mahal ba ang cvj? Wala kasing rates sa website nila e. And generous naman servings nila? Iniisip ko kasi kung may 80 guests ako, should i order food good for 70 pax or pwede na ang good for 60pax? Takot nga lang ako if biglang nabitin sa food. Kakahiya non. Hehe.

^need ba talaga na sa CTK ang binyagan? Medyo mahirap kasi yan puntahan pag walang sasakyan. Baka mahirapan ibang bisita mo unless sa tingin mo most ay magdadala ng sasakyan. Ok rin kasi na St. Francis then osma.  Options Lang sis para mas exciting ang preps, kunwari may "lito" moments:)

@workinmom, hindi ako updated sa rates ng CVJ sa ngayon pero ang alam ko, minimum nila to cater off-site is 100 pax.  Paki-check na lang.   For me, masarap ang food ng CVJ - favorites ko ang lengua with mushroom sauce, baked salmon, baked lasagna and grilled prawns (cooked on the spot).  Mahusay din ang set-up nila, classy ang mga gamit nilang linens, pati utensils, glassware and chafing dishes nila pasado sa akin (hindi mukhang pang-canteen lang).   Mababait din ang waitstaff at maayos ang mga itsura (neat silang tingnan).

Look for Joanne Justo-Abella if you are going to inquire.  

Sa 100 pax namin dati, around 120-125 guests ang dumating at marami pa kaming take-home.

Walang corkage fee sa lechon namin before.

Hi!  I would like to ask lang if let's say i rent out Valle Verde 1's clubhouse are there additional charges pa aside from the rental and the security bond - do they charge pa for electricity, maintenance, etc?  Thanks!

Hello, mommies/sisses! This is my first time to post but I've been browsing the GT birthday party threads for a while na. Now I'm ready to jump into the topic because my son's birthday is only 4 months away and yep, it's the big 7th birthday! I'm excited but at the same time I'm also kind of dreading the long and arduous process of preparing for the big event. I'm pregnant din kasi so I'm not feeling very active/energetic but, of course, I still want to do everything I can to give my baby the best birthday party we can give him!

Sorry for the long intro! Anyway, I'm on venue-hunting mode right now. Our 1st choice is Joya. I have a Tita who lives there so it's convenient. I've never actually checked out their function rooms though and I can't find any feedback online. I asked my Tita to inquire and refer me to a contact person but I don't know when she'll be able to get back to me. Nahihiya naman ako kulitin siya. If you or anybody you know has had their events held at Joya, please share your feedback? I just want to know if it's a good option because if not, I'll get right on scouting for other venues. Thanks!

How about finding time to drop by the place?  Then ask and see for yourself if the venue would fit you in terms of capacity, rate, accessibility, terms and condition.  I am sure they will entertain all your querries.  If they ask you if you are a resident and it seems they won't answer your querries unless you are one, then politely admit to them that you are not, but you have a relative who is one of their unit owner.  Tell them also that you can easily ask the favor from your relative of doing the inquiry in your behalf but you preferred doing it by yourself instead of eating their time when in fact you are not yet that sure of renting the place.

Now, if you find the place perfect for you, then you can ask the admin if there are papers (endorsement, permit, etc) that you need to get from them and need to be sign from your relative as a proof that they are willing to let you rent the place under their sponsorship. On the other hand, if you find the place as not the one you are looking for, then you can move on and still have enough time to check on other choices.

I think this will be easier and will save you a lot of time than waiting for you auntie to do the job for you.

Hi jpeach. I'm not sure if joya and the loft are one and the same but what I know is that the loft costs 80k for 250pax. I have a friend who works at rockwell and i'll ask her para i could give you feedback. I'll get back to you on that. You might wanna consider columns makati too.

 ok sis ang cvj kung venue and food maganda at masarap talaga. impress kami ni husband nung nag inquire kami. kaso  70 pax lang ang guest namin, mostly adults pa. minimum nila is 100 pax para libre na yung venue tapos wala pang corcage fee kung ano ipasok mo, photobooth etc etc. pag below 100 pax 575 ang per head nila sa create your own party buffet, 4 viands, 1 fresh veg salad, rice, dessert & drinks. plus may venue rental na 5k etc etc... parang pinupush talaga nila yung 100 pax kasi sangkaterbang additional charges na ang pumasok nung sinabi naming 70 pax lang sayang nga gustong ko pa naman yung venue nila talaga kaso out of the budget na. for 100 pax 52k 3rd flr, 57k 2nd flr & 54k gflr.

Oo nga e. Nagpaquote din ako sa kanila and may minimum sila na 100pax na hindi na rin talaga namin kakayanin at baka patayin ako ng husband ko pag ganon dahil gusto nya talaga tipid mode kami. Sayang. Gusto ko na pa naman sana matry food nila. May cinoconosider nga ako ngayon, yung tresmarias catering kasi nagsend silabigla through email na di ko rin alam kung pano nila nakuha email add ko. Ang cheap nila sobra kaya lang hirap na hirap akong maghanap ng reviews on them kaya i'm medyo iffy. Althoug i checked out thr website and parang okay naman set-up nila, i just don't know about their service and food which are equally important din. Hayyy....hirap ng konti ang budget...hehe.

CTK kasi pinakaconvenient for us kaya dun na rin namin gusto...although maganda rin sana sa osma kasii gusto ko yung venue kaya lang hesitant ako sa caterer nila e. E di ko rin kasi alam if pwedeng irent out ko yung venue tapos magpasok na lang ako ng ibang caterer. Yoko kasi talagang mapintasan food nyan...

When i was also asking about catering, i suddenly received an email from Tres Marias as well.  So, should i believe that there's someone from their team that is a member of this board and whenever someone inquires about the catering, they will make an effort to find the member's email addy (which is actually can easily be found here in our profile) to send their package.  It's called underground marketing.

May isang thread wherein she advertised and another where she was asking whether some people have tried out their catering service. Probably hoping to get some unbiased feedback din. Hehe.
