Taking PC meds is not a contra-indication to getting vaccinated.
So, yes, you can still have him vaccinated even while he is taking his PC meds.

heLp po mga mommies! i have a daughter who is diagnosed with a primary complex. she is positive on PPD test and negative on xray. her pedia suggest to take isoniazid for 9months since negative siya sa xray kya 1 med lang iinumin nya. she's on her 6months na but still inuubo pa din siya minsan. Like Last month inubo siya tpos ngaun inubo na naman ulit. hayyzzz! does it mean hindi siya gumagaling?. help po pls! thankz!

Same here...  We got the result of my 4 year old daughter my Primary Koch's Infection sya. Kawawa naman nakuha daw niya yun from an adult that has Tuberculosis. Advised ng pedia niya na magpa-xray kami lahat sa house na nakakasama niya. 3 medicine ang iinumin niya for 3-6 months. depende pa if anong maging result ng xray namin na nakakasama niya. Nakakaawa, Ang hirap pa naman niya painumin ng gamot. huhuhuhu  So heart breaking. nakakaguilty.

so sad noh sis/ ako din nung nalaman ko yung daughter ko na exposed siya halos mangiyak-ngiyak ako at nainis dun sa source kasi alam kong aware sila na meron sila pero hindi nila iniinform sa mga kasama nila at dinedeny pa ito kahit kitang kita sa katawan nila.

my daughter is on 6months of treatment pero inuubo pa din siya. i think hanggat hindi siya nalalayo sa source ay hindi siya gagaling. kaya we avoid to get contact na with the source hanggat maaari para gumaling na baby girl namin. kawawa naman.

There's a possibility that it's not because of the PC anymore, but a different cause like reflux, weather changes, asthma, allergies, etc.
What did your old pedia say after the 6 months of treatment? Satisfied ba siya with the response of your child with the meds? What was the presenting symptom kaya siya na-diagnose with PC and what were the results of the initial chest x-ray and PPD? Nahanap niyo ba ang source of infection at nagamot ba ang source?

Doc Lelet, cleared naman na sya from PC, as per the pedia eh naging okay naman yung response ni baby sa medication. So most likely tama ka na baka allergy or asthma, kaya pala nag prescribe din si pedia ng anti-asthma eh sabi ko wala naman asthma ang anak ko. Prevention lang siguro. And I realized, kasi nire-renovate yung bahay beside ours, so that's another cause siguro.

No, we don't routinely do chest x-ray or repeat PPD after 6 months of treatment with anti - PC meds.
We go by clinical signs and symptoms pa rin, meaning, dapat there should be improvement of the initial signs and symptoms that the child presented with, there should be improvement in well being, appetite, activity, etc.
If there is improvement, no need to repeat labs, but if wala masyadong improvement, pwede i-repeat ang chest x-ray.
During the 6 months of treatment, you should bring your child back to her pedia for regular follow up para ma-monitor ang progress ng treatment and to check for development of side effects, etc.

question po.. my niece (2 1/2 yrs old) was diagnosed with this.. my pedia says that its not contagious kasi bata pa naman, eh i have a 4 month old baby... safe ba palapitin? same pedia nila eh.. sabi ok naman hindi daw mahahawa... i just want to have a 2nd opinion thanks

Hindi nakakahawa kapag bata sa bata for the following reasons:

a. The mycobacterial load (the organisms) in kids are confined inside lymph nodes so nakatago

b. The kids with PC have minimal mycobacterial load

c. Transmission usually occurs when a person with TB coughs on you (usually sa area with poor ventilation) and you inhale the TB droplets.

Adult to adult and adult to child ang usual transmission. Hindi child to child or child to adult.

Were you able to find the source of your niece's infection? Kasi if hindi and the source was never treated, kahit na hindi mahawa ang anak mo sa niece mo, pero yung source is just there with them, then possible na mahawa siya sa source.

pina xray po lahat ng tao sa house.. wala naman sa amin.. baka daw yung maid na kakaalis lang.. buti umalis sya bago ako manganak ..

yung 1.5yo girl ko may nakapa pedia nya parang kulani sa leeg nya, hindi sya lumalaki or lumiit. mababa yung weight nya 9.4kg sya ngayon. consider na ba na baka may pc sya? hindi naman sya sipunin & inuubo. madalang lang sya magkaron nun. 

pedia suggested for skin test & xray. diba masakit ang skin test? kawawa naman yung bata

The most common symptom seen in kids with PC  is enlargement of the lymph nodes and failure to gain weight. Bihira sa kids na may PC ang talagang inuubo ng husto.

hi doc lelet eto nanaman po ako...we're done na with my baby's medication last march 16..6months lang siya nag take ng meds. from 7.9kilos to 11kilos ang naging weight progress ni baby after 6months at magana narin siya kumain the time na nagtatake siya ng meds so our pedia advised to stop na the meds. kaya lang 2days after ma free from meds ni baby, nilagnat, inubo, sinipon at nawalan naman siya ng gana kumain.since gabi kami pumunta sa pedia nung last check up nya, we assumed na baka nahamogan lang si baby kaya nag kaganun, kaya lang til now inuubo parin si baby at hindi parin kumakain masyado, puro milk at bicuits lang siya madalas then pakonti konti ng ibang food pero rice ayaw niya talaga kumain unlike before nung under medications pa kami ng PC nya na ang lakas niya talaga kumain. yung cough nya is parang dry naman though not sure din po...yung vitamins na reseta ni pedia hindi parin namin maibigay ke baby coz of his cough. bakit po kaya ganun? possible po ba na hindi parin magaling si baby? advise naman po sis....tia

I suggest you bring your baby back to the pedia for check up. It is possible that he has caught a different infection (maybe viral or bacterial) and the symptoms are no longer part of PC. Hindi kasi ganoon kabilis bumalik ang symptoms after stopping medications.
Your pedia is the best person to say what type of cough or colds your baby has since she is the one who knows your baby well.

^maybe this saturday maibalik ko siya sa pedia niya, sobrang nag worry kasi kami ni hubby kasi nung monday try namin check yung weight ni baby...grabe ang laki ng ibinaba ng timbang nya, 11kilos siya last march 16 (that is when we stopped his PC meds) then april 4 nasa 9.5kilos nalang siya kasi nga ayaw niya kumain masyado... but like what you've said, si pedia niya lang talaga ang makakapagsabi exactly what causing his lack of appetite and yung ubo niya. we're also thinking of allergies kasi every morning lang siya inuubo....haaaay napaka masakiting bata, anyways G6PD def nga rin pala ang baby ko...grabe lahat nalang ng sakit inangkin. atleast now less worries na kami about his PC. salamat ng marami po doc lelet

Sis Leletmd, curious lang, di ba ang primary complex nakukuha from an adult, pag naubuhan, sneeze at paano pa ba?  Dapat ba madaming beses kang maubuhan?  Or pwedeng isang instance lang? 

Pag may primary complex ang isang kid, gaano kaaga bago ma detect ito?  after 5-6 months ba bago makita or after niyang makuha yung sakit meron na?
