Hi..Im just wondering if there are any sisses here who have been to Mexico before..I want to know what are the places you can highly recommend and where is the cheapest point in the US to get there..Is it Texas, Ca or Arizona?I also read that you can go there by bus pero hangang Tijuana lang ata..
Actually Brazil sana gusto ko but the air fares will really drain your pocket..sobrang mahal,the cheapest I check was around 700 USD..ouch! ..So maybe Mexico will be a better alternative..

^ I think some GTers have been to Mexico. Sa San Diego, CA yung alam kong daan papuntang Mexico. May tour buses din kasi that organize day trips. But yun nga, Tijuana bagsak mo, which is a really scary place right now due to the drug crisis they're having.

I wanna visit the Mayan ruins lang. But saka na yan hehe.

It's been a while since I last went to Mexico so I'm sure there has been a lot of changes. We went to the Caribbean side which they say has a "better" beach in terms of sand quality and the blueness of the water.

We went to Cozumel which is an island about 45 mins away by ferry from their "Mainland". It's perfect for people who love to snorkle / scuba dive. As in paglabas mo pa lang sa beach a few feet from the hotel, pwede ka na magsnorkle and you will see fish of all sorts. Best snorkling experience for me. I'm not a certified diver but they were offering intro dive courses where you can go as low as 25 ft and be surrounded by beautiful marine life.

Next trip to Mexico we went to was in Cancun. I thought it was just a regular party place but I was very much surprised with how beautiful it was over there. Beautiful fine white sand and the bluest sea I've seen. Daming choices for hotels. Then you can take a bus/tours that will take you to the Tulum, The Mayan Ruins. Meron ding beach sa Tulum which was breath-takingly beautiful. There are a lot of things to do in Cancun. You can take a ferry to another Island, Isla Mujer. There's shopping, good food, water sports, etc. I would probably avoid Cancun during Spring Break though when things are pretty rowdy in that island.

They say Puerta Vallarta and Cabo is beautiful too.

^ Hi sis! Yes, nabalik ako! Haven't posted in ages, and now nagawi ulit ako ng GT. Yup, that's the one. Sayang nga sandali lang kami doon. Grabe, with the weather now, all I can think about is the beach! Lol. I think yung beach in Tulum was in the top 5 beaches of Mexico.

^ Mooncake and Leaves, it was DIY pero ang ginawa namin in both Cozumel and Cancun we joined those Time Share promos na you listen and tour their resort then then will give you a whole day tour to whichever activity you want to do. We ended up spending a whole day at this Water/Marine Life resort in Riviera Maya (yata). In Cancun naman we got this day trip to Chitzen Itza, Tulum, and one of these pretty Cenotes for free or for like $25 lang yata.

We went about 4 years ago so I can't quite remember how much we spent.  We stayed in an all inclusive hotel and from what I remember the whole wasn't too expensive.

^I_neveph, try mo i-include ang Tulum. The ruins and the beach is just beautiful. If you go to Cancun, you can visit Chitzen Itza and Tulum.

i plan to go mexico from LAX sometime this month. I'm still convincing my boyfriend. So possible pala na day tour lang yung chitzen itza in merida from cancun kasi base on my research mga 5 hours drive. priority ko kasi to see the chitzen itza and bf naman wants to see cancun.

Are you a Filipino citizen?  Was it difficult to get a visa?  My sister is a US citizen that's why she can't answer my question.

My family and I went on a daytour of Ciudad Juarez. We came from El Paso, TX. We visited a bullring, glass-blowing shops, the mercado and bought some cervesa. 

Not exactly your a1, cruise-type tourist destination but it was educational. We were on a roadtrip from AL to CA....a week-long drive with several stops

Yup! Am Filipino citizen Madali lang yata, sakin medyo natagalan kasi ako lang ang [textspeak!] citizen sa family ko, lahat sila US citizens. Feeling yata nung consul eh tatawid ako ng Mexico border LOL.

I was in Mexico from mid-december til the 8th of January. Loved it! We spent most of our time in Cancun, but we also stayed at  Playa del Carmen, Isla Mujeres, and visited Chichen Itza.  Getting around is quite easy especially if you speak Spanish

I've been to Cozumel, Playa del Carmen, Ensenada, Puerto Vallarta, Cabo San Lucas, Manzanillo & La Paz. Beaches here are so-so, nothing spectacular like Bora or the beaches in Palawan. Except ngapala yung sa Tulum ruins, as mentioned breathtaking talaga yung view ng beach up from the ruins. I'm not sure if this is in Playa or in Cancun. Maganda talaga yung place, it's a must-see.

Of all those places, I love Cabo San Lucas. Nag-enjoy kami ni hubby dito. Sobrang init nga lang, yung sights parang nasa desert ka. But I don't know, iba allure ng lugar na to sakin.

I have a Mexican co-worker, his family is in Acapulco but had to move to another city because it's too dangerous too live there due to gang wars, high crime rate etc. As a precaution, just go to touristy places na lang. Wag na mag-explore kung saan-saan...

I've been in Mexico na....Cabo San Lucas, Puerto Vallarta,Xihuatanejo,Cozumel, Acapulco,Huatulco etc......mostly beaches kase I used to work in a cruise ship....my problem now is Im married with a mexican and dio pa naparegister yung marriage license namin kase sa barko kami kinasal and wala na kaming time...now im planning to go there as tourist sa vacay ni hubby kaso i dunno how to get visa dito....should i declare na married ako kahit di pa registered ang license???hubby is from hermosillo, sonora in the other side malapit sa arizona...can somebody help me where to start and gano ba katagal ang application? ::)TIA

Mexico City lang kami sa Guadalupe and some province i forgot na [textspeak!] Aztec pyramid. Flight from Texas was cheap. Then Mexico to New York na. Cancun daw maganda saka Acapulco
