^i think it's case number. visa # is given when you are approved during interview.

Kapag ngayon ka ni - file, magiging F2A ka at possible priority date is 2011.

2008 pa lang ang pinaprocess sa F2A.

Ang intindi ko, pag citizen ang nag file for you as spouse, walang waiting time. (correct me if I'm wrong here.)
Anong mas feel mo, mag intay ng priority date from 2008 - 2011 (na medyo mabagal ang usad)
or mag intay ng couple of months para sa citizenship ng asawa mo.

hi mga sis, pa-join...
i need your advice/opinion/suggestions on our situation.

here it goes...
hubby and i got married last year when he came back (1 month lang yung vacation nya) . he's an immigrant, he went to US last march 2007.
so ang 5th yr sa US ay sa march 2012. marami kasing suggestions sa kanya. pwede daw na ngayon na nyako i-petition para in process na yung papers ko.though may mga nagsasabi naman din na it's better na after na lang ng application nya for Citizenship nya ako i-petition para mas madali.
By the way, he will apply na for citizenship this September. Sorry but im not familiar kasi sa rule na ganun na 6 months before sya mag five years dun eh pwede na sya mag apply for citizenship para ma-process na. We want to be together na the soonest possible time. Nakakalungkot naman kasi talaga na malayo sa hubby,lalo na kakakasal pa lang namin

Kasi, as of now, he is only LPR, meaning Legal Permanent Resident, mag-aabang ka ng availability ng visa, katulad this July 2011, ang pina-process pa lang March 2008, so merong 3 years na backlog. Pag citizen na siya, walang waiting, lalo na pag spouse at parents. Yung sa akin, march 9 2011 ang Priority date, pero sa july 11 na ang interview ko. So suggestion ko sa iyo, konting tiis na ilang months, then saka kayo mag-file ng petition, instead of waiting for 3 years, di ba?

Hindi ka na mag iintay ng priority date mo. As in process na agad.
Months lang bibilangin mo for the whole process (interview, paperworks, medical etc)

Katulad namin dito, nag iintay pa kami ng priority date para lang ma start yun process.
Pag naging current na yung priority date ko, saka pa lang ako mag start ng paperworks, interview, medical, etc.

Ikaw, wala nang waiting.

true. once na citizen na husband mo, the whole process will prolly take at least 6 months. syempre depende pa rin sa response niyo in submitting necessary docs and result sa medical. but visa is always available para sa spouses ng us citizen. kaya walang wait.

any f2a who received interview date?

sorry ha, pero what do you mean pag sinabing walang waiting? i suppose may pagdadaanan pa rin namang processes dun sa petition nya. let's day he filed yung petition immediately next year, mga how many months (?) shall we "wait" para makapunta nako dun? 

Walang waiting kapag citizen kasi walang limit sa visa na ini-issue every year, unlike kung green card holder, meron silang number of visas na available lang for that year, so pag ubos na yung visa, wala na munang pwedeng ibigay for that year, kaya nag-ba-backlog. Katulad kunwari, heto yung dalawang choices mo:
1. Pag nagfile siya ng petition for you now na, green card holder siya, ang priority date mo will be, let's say august 2011, pag tiningnan mo ang priority date na pina-process as of July 2011 sa visa bulletin, makikita mo under f2a visa, sa Philippines, march 2008 pa lang ang pina-process, so ibig sabihin delayed sila ng 3 years, so maghihintay ka ng years pa more or less para ma-start ma-process ang visa mo.
2. Pag citizen na ang spouse upon filing, madaling ma-process kasi, as i have said earlier, walang limit ang visa pag spouse or parent and ipe-petition. Pag file niya, meron ka nang priority date agad and maghihintay na lang kayo ng mga notifications coming from the uscis at nvc, that is if he files the petition in the us. This will take at least 6 months, depende sa medical results mo and availability for interview schedule.
Meron kang 3rd choice actually, that is to file through Direct Consular Filing, which in our case, 4 months lang. Meaning, yung petition mo, hindi na dadaan sa NVC, ganyan yung ginawa namin ni hubby kaya mabilis yung akin, kasi lahat ng kailangan i-submit dito lang sa uscis sa manila ni-re-review, hindi na pinapadala pa sa us kaya sobrang bilis. Pero ang catch is, for your hubby to be qualified to file directly is, he has to maintain residency here in the philippines for at least 6 months.

If you gained your Legal Permanent Residence Status through marriage, 3 years lang ang hihintayin mo to be able to apply for citizenship. If LPR is gained through job or any other means, 5 years pa before pwede kang mag-apply for citizenship,

additional sa info ni sis len_ben, processing time ng application ng citizenship is 6 months.. but kung qualified ka sa requirements ng stay mo sa US, pwede ka na mag file 3 months before ka mag 5 yrs, so it will save you 3mos.
