Hi mga sis. Here again.

Will be travelling back to Shanghai (yun lang kasi ang nabook sa Piso Sale hehe) on November pa naman, lots of time to prepare, just want some input sa current travel situation namin.

Will be travelling with the hubby and our daughter who will be 1 year and 3 months old, come November.

Hubby used to work in China, nagka working visa na sya dun.

Ako naman, I visited him with a dependent Visa (S2 ata yun).

Our daughter naman syempre first time.

Magiging mahirap ba for us to get Visa considering na 8 days ang vacation namin na iyan?

We're planning on going to Shanghai in March for a short, much needed mental break from work so we're not planning on going to Beijing. Would 5 nights be enough or better kung 6 nights or maybe even 7 nights?

We're choosing between Pullman Shanghai or Green Court Serviced Apartments. Nanjing Road is walkable from Green Court but a bit far (650m) from the closest metro while Pullman naman has a metro stop right in front of it, pero Nanjing Rd is not walkable.

It's our first time in China but gusto lang namin relaxed itinerary. We'd mostly be eating, sight seeing and a tiny bit of window shopping.

^kung mag shanghai ka lang sobra sobra na yung 5days kasi halos wala naman masyado makikita dun. Business center siya and not pasyalan so there's not much to do there as tourists unlike beijing.

March is still cold when i went there last week of march nasa 11degrees pa so bring thick jackets and scarves.

Sa walking for me ok lang kahit malayo yung hotel sa trains station na e-enjoy ko naman yung paglalakad malamig kasi yung weather at madami din nakikita along the way. Pwede ka rin naman mag taxi mura lang naman taxi nila.

^^ if you want a sight seeing better go in Beijing, Shanghai is a business hub 2days is ok to roam around Shanghai. Ask if Circus Vegas will perform there, much cheaper ticket fee compared sa Las Vegas (for obvious reason nasa Asia  currency) nandun kami nag perform sila kaya swerte na din. Dec kami nag punta nasa 5deg ang temp kaya sobra lamig. Try also Shenzen side trip nyo.

Thank you, ladies! I'm torn na tuloy. My friend said he prefers Shanghai more than Beijing kasi very modern and mas marami daw inclined to speak in English kesa sa Beijing. He's Singaporean Chinese so it wasn't an issue for him but my family and I cannot speak or understand Mandarin so when he said that, I decided Shanghai will be the first city in China we'll visit. My number 1 concern talaga is being able to communicate with the locals kahit papano. Or else, we won't enjoy at all and we might as well stay not travel na lang

Yes, we love the cold so I chose March easier to walk around, everyone's less grumpy and sweaty too!

^yes, I downloaded 2 (google translate and microsoft), tested both of them and they're ok naman.

We'll stay in Shanghai na lang, explore the city and EAT. We can do Beijing, Xi'an, etc some other time

^Google translator is not working in whole of China because it is blocked. Install free version of VPN too so that you can access social media apps.

All social media are blocked even Google and YouTube too.

^yep, we'll be paying for ExpressVPN (and another VPN, in case) so Google Translator should be fine

Edit: ExpressVPN worked well and we were able to use all our apps. Installed it on our laptop too.
