my 5 yr old son has "bukol" sa leeg

baka meron nakaka alam ng ganitong situation, ano ba next ko dapat gawin?

i noticed my son's bukol na parang holen ang laki, 3 weeks ago. pinatingin ko s pedia after a week na napansin ko ito and she said na parang kulani, ganun pa man, pina x-ray nya son ko baka daw kasi pati lungs e meron at ibig sabihin e baka me primary complex daw. pinatignan din nya sa surgeon sa hosp. pareho sila ng tingin ng pedia, pero bantayan ko daw kung lumalaki. pinainom ng antibacterial ng 1 week. as of now, andun pa rin yung bukol pero sa pakiramdam ko e di naman lumalaki tapos sabi nya e di naman daw masakit. advice naman mga sis. salamat.

sis i suggest you seek a second opinion.. its a gutsy feeling of mother that something is wrong with our kids.

sis, yan din sabi dito sa house, pa secong opinion ko daw. sabi ko naman, wait pa ako ng 1 week then dalhin ko sa isang pedia pa nya. gusto ko rin kasi ipa x-ray yung neck nya. sana naman wala lang

i would suggest to go seek a pedia that specialize in some field example infectious diseases. i hope you wont mind from where are you?

ganung doktor ba dapat ko puntahan? no idea sis. i'm from laguna. baka you know someone na pwedeng mapuntahan. sis, kung bawal dito, pa pm nalang ako. syempre the earlier na mapatignan, the better. salamat ha.

Kung sa gitna ng leeg mala adams apple yung bukol, baka goiter yan. If dun ang location. Pacheck ka sa pedia endocrinologist.

thanks sis emeenem. yung bukol e parang adams apple pero banda sa left side. di talaga sya sa gitna. hanap ako ng ganyang doktor.

sis i think xray would not give you much information esp if the lesion is in the soft tissues. one cost-effective imaging study that you might wanna request is ultrasound which at least will characterize the lesion if it is solid, cystic or if it looks like an enlarged lymph node (kulani) lang. also, ultrasound can also localize the lesion if its from the thyroid gland (eg goiter) nga. IMO lang po but best to ask your doctor pa din.

^^sis imeego, thanks for suggesting that. at least me pwede akong itanong sa doktor. hirap kasi ng walang idea sa ganitong klase ng bukol.

^sis mrs. BINLATEN, sa mmc ako nanganak pero dahil dito ako s laguna nakatira, dito ako naghanap ng pedia. pa pm nalang ako ng pedia mo. once a month, nagpupunta ako sa makati, so pwede kong nang isabay yung pagpunta sa mmc. salamat.

how big yung bukol?  and saan side ng neck? parang sa may baba ng ear na side ba?

matigas ba? nagagalaw? defined ba shape ng bukol? 

Ano palang antibacterial pinainom? why daw sya bibigyan non?

kamusta yung chest xray nya?  i agree with your doc when they entertained the idea of primary complex kasi ganyan ibang kids na may primary complex their lymph nodes gets swollen.  Lymph nodes kasi natin swells pag may infection... pero depende where yung infection iba iba location rin ng lymph node ang mag swell. 

It is best that you go to a doctor for a second opinion.

sis carolineMD, parang holen yung laki na sa bandang left side ng neck perong sa gitna parin. malayo sya sa ilalim ng tenga. medyo soft at nagagalaw sya. pero sabi ng anak ko, masakit daw pag sinasalat ko kc nga medyo nadidiinan ko para malaman ko ang size. di naman namumula yung skin at unless hinahawakan ko, wala namang discomfort na binibigay sa kanya.

ceporex yung pinainom na gamot kasi during that time e me sipon at ubo yung son ko. actually, napansin namin yung bukol ng ka-tindihan ng sipon nya kaya inisip din namin me connection yun.

clear naman yung chest x-ray. no problem whatsoever. kaya talagang ii-i-sched ko yung pagpunta sa another doctor. thanks for the advice

a relative had about three bukols na parang peanut somewhere by the neck close to the side of the shoulder. they had her checked and found out it was related to tuberculosis. they took it out, quick out patient procedure and had it biopsied. she didn't have the disease she most likely got infected from other playmates (we were guessing) and it metastasized (i don't know if i'm saying the right term) in the neck region. she was also treated with antibiotics. thats what the doctor told us years ago. no case of it after.

what do you mean related to tb? nag medication ba siya to treat the infections or tb.
