been working for the government since 2004, naka-3 lipat na ako ng office personally, nag-eenjoy ako sa govt kasi at least hawak mo ang oras mo, not unlike sa private companies na kelangan talaga masipag ka (tamad rin kasi ako lol!)...tsaka, andun din yung perks, may it be financial or travel ops.

pero tama nga yung isang sis natin na kung magrerely ka lang sa sweldo mo, di ganun aasenso buhay. kelangan may other sources of income (pero ako wala pa akong other source of income aside from salary)

SG 19 ako, with 31k na basic at 2,000 allowance

^ sis pag under ka ng salary standardization law, according to the salary grade ang sweldo mo, i.e. admin assistant 1 ka, kunwari salary grade 5, ang admin assistant 2 salary grade 6. So you know basically how much you will earn based from the law.

i got an email from dswd, im scheduled for exam next week...kaso sa qc naman ang assignment goodluck taga cavite ako..pursue ko pa ba ito???

hi sis resilient. first work ko sa DSWD. please check with them kung ano ang item mo, marami kasi dun MOA (memorandum of agreement) lang, of lesser perks than a contractual. Pag MOA ka, wala kang 13th month, wala rin mga benefits like GSIS, philhealth, pag-ibig, etc. Wala rin yatang leave benefits e. No employee-employer relationship pa. MOA ako nun dati for 3mos, tapos nakalipat ako ng permanent position (My 2nd govt stint) sa Makati. Hubby is from DSWD though..hehe

meron pa bang contractual positions sa government? kasi wala pa akong cs exam eh... nag apply ako sa BIR last week and sa tingin ko naman, kahit pano i passed the exams. that day when i took the exam, they called me up and told me na ihohold nila application ko since wala pa pala akong CS. According to them, dapat magtake muna ko Professional level ng eligibility para iprocess nila application ko.. kaso, oct 16 pa exam. kaya i'm trying my luck to still look for work in the gov't w/o needing the eligibility pa.

hi sis...yes, meron pa ring contractual positions..pero depende rin kasi sa office/agency. Meron mga contractual na parehas lang ang benefits with permanent, the only difference is that like 2x a month lang sila sumusweldo (15th and 30th) compared sa regular/permanent na 4x a month (7th,14th,22nd,30th). Usually, pag wala pang CS tapos qualified naman, contractual yata ang nabibigay na position HTH (Meron rin kasing mga nahihire on project basis, job-order, MOA)

@Sis pressany..yes, effective June 1, 2011..yung 3rd tranche ng salary standardization law.

Did some of you guys watched the news last night? may Senate bill raw to increase the minimim salary based sa salary standardization law by as much as 6k?

I work for the City Hall of Manila, detailed sa isa sa mga hospitals ng Manila, and I'm still on special payroll. Ang hirap lang kasi we don't get our salary within the allowable waiting time. At ang baba ng item ko at SG. Not enough for me to save up kahit na may allowances and other benefits. Sana mabigay na yung FA namin, ilang bwan na ding hindi binibigay sa mga employees eh, haay! FUN din naman, kasi yung mga kawork ko sobrang kalog, pero ang hirap sa division namin, kakastart palang kasi ng accreditation ng PhilHealth sa hospital, kaya nangangapa pa. I'm always working OT pero wala namang OT pay sa government eeeeeeh nor Holidays! Ang daya!!! Nakakapagod dito, sana makalipat na ko please! Eyeing for the National office with higher SG.

Hi! Ang alam ko, if you want to work for the government, its either you take the CS or that you already have a professional license from PRC. Kapag wala kang CS or PRC License you can still apply for a contractual position though, pero walang assurance yon na iyong iyo na yung item mo. Pero ok lang yun, lapit na mag Oct 16. Galingan mo ah!

Waah! Buti pa sa inyo, 4 times kayo sumusweldo. Yung sweldo ko (on special payroll still) ng akinse, nakukuha ko ng 3-4 days before mag 30th! LOL... Ang lupit! Haay konting tiis pa.

San ka nagapply sis? National? Kasi yung sakin non, sa local, magssubmit ka ng PDS, tapos ccheck nila yung qualifications mo, tapos kung kulang yung qualifications mo sa inaaplyan mo, pwede ka nilang offeran ng ibang positions, dun nakukuha yung Casual or Contractual. Hehe... Yon ang alam ko ah! So pwedeng habang employed ka as casual, inaayos mo yung CS mo, pag ok na, pwede ka na kumuha ng Permanent Ganon kasi ginawa ng mga kawork ko na iba eh.
