Baby itches/skin problems (acne,bumps,rashes,cradle cap,etc)

my daughter has this and it itches  at first i thought it was eczema or skin asthma because her older brother had them when he was a baby but the pedia said it's baby pimples and gave focicurt cream to be applied for 3days. how about you, how do you treat them?

My daughter had a few infant acne on her first few weeks na nasamahan naman ng rashes so it was hard for me to distinguish which was which.

Infant acne usually goes away on its own. It was my daughter's rashes that we had to put medicine on to clear up.

accdg to my pedia naipasa lang yan from the mother and it will go away on its own like what happened to my baby.

Myson had this too on his second week. Medyo nakaka panic kasi one day makinis mukha nya and then I woke up the next day puro butlig na face nya. Kala ko na allergy sya sa linens na gamit nya nung matulog so pinapalitan ko lahat. Then, hindi parin nawala kahit pinalitan na yung beddings so nag research ako and read about baby acne. Naipasa nga daw ito ng mother thru the placenta and it usually goes away after a week or two, sabi pa the best cure is patience and just wait for it to go away.

E impatient ako hehe. I read that breastmilk helps due to its antiseptic properties. So for 3 days, i would express milk before sya maligo. Dip the cottonballs dun sa breast milk then pinapatuyo ko sa face nya (my son hated this ritual as). Papatuyuin ko for 15mins then rinse it off kasabay na nung bath time nya. In less than a week kuminis na mukha nya. I don't know kung nakatulong nga yung breast milk or maybe it was just a natural course na magka pimple sya and mawawala din after several days.

brought baby to the pedia because she had a lot of red bumps on her face na kinakamot nya i thought may rashes sya, turns out baby pimples daw sabi ni pedia. she was given fucicort 2x a day for 3days then moisturize lang daw sya face with cetaphil lotion. tapos na yung 3days and 3days na din kami na puros cetaphil lotion, medyo nagsubside dun sa ibang place pero nagkakaron naman sya sa ibang lugar (like chin, neck, nape, bumababa na din sa katawan... ) and it is itchy so frustrated and irritated si baby... what can i do?

My baby developed little bumps sa face nya nung nilabas sya this weekend.. marami na sya ngayon sa forehead, prior to that paunti unti lang yung butlig. Minsan namumula, minsan hindi, para tuloy syang may whiteheads!  He also has cradle cap.

I consulted my pedia, she prescribed Synalar 10 2x a day para dun sa bumps/butlig sa face. Then oil sa cradle cap 30minutes before bathing and remove yung scales before shampooing daw.

I would like to ask, my baby just turned 1 month, okay lang ba ang Synalar? I googled it and I learned its a topical steroid parang ayoko lagyan ng steroid ang baby ko this early. Nangyari din po ba sainyo to? Okay po ba ang babies nyo? And for the cradle cap anong oil kaya maganda?  Meron pa po bang other ways to treat it naturally?

Hi,

My baby is one and half months she also develop little bumps sa face 2 weeks after she was born. The pedia said she doesn't really advice meds for those bumps kasi it's normal... hormones daw yun and yes the meds acts fast bec of steroids but sa case ng baby ko medyo marami and may puti yun red bumps sa gitna. She said itchy daw yun pag ganun wawa si baby. She prescribed Elica. Mabilis [textspeak!] after 3 days gone na. It comes and goes those little bumps but unless it has whites sa gitna I don't put meds.

Sa head nman I put baby oil before bath and rinse ko during bath time. Nawala na rin.

my baby boy din had this a few days after he was born. bumps, scales and cradle cap galore. I asked the pedia about giving topical creams but she said if the baby doesn't scratch it, there's no need to put anything, since hindi naman siya bothersome for the baby. and mawawala din naman daw. True enough nawala din naman. The pedia prescribed topical steroids lang nung nagka eczema si baby, kaya lang if you put too much namumuti yung part na nilagyan mo.

for cradle cap i put giga baby balm before bath time. regular baby oil will do, i guess.

yung baby ko ngkaron din ganyan, cradle cap at rushes sa face... madami din... don't put any medicine.. mawawala din yan... gawin mo lang to..

for cradle cap:

1. bili ka soft brush
2. put oil 10-15 mins before bath time
3. when shampooing, brush her hair... easy lang sa pag brush ha.. kasi baka naman magsugat yung ulo niya pag pinilit mo mawala agad.. in 2-3 weeks time mawawala din yan... do this 2x a week...

rashes on her face:
kung breastfeed si baby, lagay ka sa cotton balls nang milk mo then lagay mo sa face ni baby.. siguro 5-10 mins. before bath time din..

talaga? pwede pala bm ko? il try it nga. pabalik balik ang bumps nya or rashes sa face. =c yung cradle cap nawala na. ngayon sa ears parang may bumps and scales na parang dandruff part pa din ba to ng cradle cap?

nakakainis nd nakakainip mawala these 2...i'm using baby oil lite sa eyebrows ng baby ko and sa bumps i use desowen cream...the bumps come and go. eh binyag pa man din nya on sat mar 12...hope di sumpungin ng rashes baby ko...

baby ko rin wgen he waas 1month old nagkaroon din ng bumps na parang rashes at pag nagdry na siya parang nagnanana marami pa naman pati ears niya noon meron. what i put was just aveeno baby soothing moisturising relief cream and it was effective sa baby ko. unti unting nawawala at maganda ang effect without any traces ka na makikita. and it also safe even to infants apply as necessary.

@jesrora, baka may allergies baby mo? my baby has eczema, parang dandruff sa kilay tsaka bumps all over the face... we put physiogel cream after bath time para moisturized ang skin ni baby, or kapag may flare up i dab breastmilk din on the affected part, tas hinahayaan ko na magdry yung milk ko sa face niya. nababawasan naman yung redness pero ayun pabalik balik. pag yung rashes ngtutubig na, we put cortizan na. pag nagchange yung weather dumadami yung rashes and bumps ni baby.

breastmilk lang feed nya eh. =c napansin ko wala sya bumps or rash sa Gabi or kapag nakaaircon. allergic kaya sya sa mainit?

yung baby ko nagkaron din a month after birth.  Sobrang dami kaya na-alarm yung pedia ko at nirecommend sa dermatologist.  Ang pinagawa sa kin ng derma is lagyan ng mineral oil yung flakes sa ulo and other parts na meron (before paliguan yun).  Yung pang ligo nya sa ulo is 2table spoon salt lalagay sa 1 liter water (saline solution ang tawag).  Yun ang pang wash ng hair nya tapos cetaphil liquid yung gamiting pang wash as well as sa body. Hindi nawala agad pero natuyo yung cradle cap nya.  For rashes, physiogel AI cream naman saka may steroid cream na binili namin sa kanya mismo.  In 2 weeks nawala lahat ng bumps, rashes and cradle cap nya, parang walang nangyari

for those who are breastfeeding, there are some sources that say cradle cap may be caused by a certain food the breastfeeding mom eats. 

when my son had cradle cap, i didn't put oil or anything to remove them. takot ako e. ewan ko ba. but when i read about that what i'm eating may be causing it, i thought and did stopped taking dairy foods.. eventually nawala nga cradle cap nya.

my baby boy is 2 weeks and 5 days old.. before siya magka acne ginawa ko yung pag pahid ng breastmilk sa face niya twice. pero feeling ko dun nag start lumabas mga butlig sa face niya. 3 days na siyang may butlig butlig lalo na sa noo..
ano kaya puwedeng cure?
ang dami ko ring acne sa likod nung nagbubuntis ako.. feeling ko lumabas yung acne because mainit panahon ngayon. hhaaiii every other day paligo ni baby kasi daw wala pang 1 month..
nakaka sad tuloy kapag tinitignan ko face niya feeling ko hindi ako maalaga:(

my baby had this rashes na maliliit na reddish when she was 1 month old pero hindi itchy kasi never siya nag scratch or baka tinitiis lang niya kasi hindi pa siya marunong gumalaw nun 1 month old pa lang kasi, i brought her to our pedia pinabalik kami sa cetaphil body cleanser i dont put cetaphil on her face kasi pansin ko nagkaka rashes sya lalo kaya cotton balls with water lang tapos todo bukas ng aircon mukhang sa init daw nakuha yung rashes ayun eventually kusang nawala yung rashes tapos until now that she's 9months old halos lagi lang siya naka aircon, buti na lang si MIL ang nagbabayad ng electric bills
