So that's what it's called... the princess complex. Yung feeling na once lang ako ikakasal, why can't i have an awesome wedding and an awesome this and that?? Hahaha! I'm not rich also but i never had a luxurious childhood and i didn't even have a debut, so i guess kaya medyo nagiinarte na magkaron ng magandang wedding. Lagi ngang nagiging dahilan yung, e kasi once lang naman to!! Lol.

We'll find ways to control our spending although admittedly, medyo more than i thought we were going to spend.

^I understand where you're coming from sis.. that's my mum's usual response to those relatives na medyo nagcocomment about our upcoming wedding. She would always tell them na "my daughter didn't experience a debut, we never celebrate any thanksgiving parties after boards, she had a very simple civil wedding few years ago, etc etc.." I actually don't mind those things.. pero i never expected that from my mum..so feeling ko it's time para bumawi. :)

^Sis diba?? My mom who is super tipid knows how much we're going to spend for this and she even tells me i can always ask her for a bit of money if kulangin kami and we can't afford what we want. Affected rin sya ng princess complex. Hahaha!

Honestly, i do want to not spend so much. Lol. Kaso i also have to understand na people have standards, lalo na my fiance's family. I can't just have the reception in a restaurant. I can't buy a gown from Divi kasi they will all talk about it behind my back and im sure they notice the quality. These things lang talaga. But really, i do envy those who can just spend 200k on their wedding. I will come out so much poorer from this hehe.

Haha ang bottomline lang talaga is to spend within your means and prioritize. With us, we cannot compromise on food. Both our families are food enthusiasts hindi lang mahilig kumain pero mahusay din magluto. Kaya dapat talaga magustuhan nila yung food kase very specific sila dyan. Sa venue, we chose one that's already beautiful on its own para little styling na lang ang gagawin. Sa chapel, we chose a very small one (ninenegotiate pa since hindi sila usually nag aallow ng weddings doon), na overlooking sa Mount Malarayat. The rest budgeted na, even my bridal dress.

Princess complex pala tawag dun.  Grabe tong GT, may natutunan ako everyday. Napaisip tuloy ako if I have Princess Complex. Sana wala naman.  ;D

Sis belle_v2g, I'm happy your mom is very supportive. Never mind na yang mga kamag-anak na yan esp. if di naman sila gagastos.

Sis sparklingjewel, kami iba naman ang reason why we saved 200k for our wedding. We've been together as bf/gf for almost 11 years. Pero si hubby naginsist a more traditional reception wedding.

^sis belle_v2g its nice to have a supportive mom. my mom din sinagot nya yung half ng florist ko and nagbigay pa sya ng pandagdag.

(tinanggal ko sya as abay)

sis sakura30 same na same talaga tayo. church location and budget. baka sisters tayo in our past life? :D 13 years naman kami ni hubby before we got married last month. we had our daughter on our 9th year together. i wanted civil nga lang. pero he insisted. kaya sabi ko, kunh iinsist mo na church, gusto ko sa caleruega. yun lang naman. all the rest tipid. :)

Ceremony and reception in one venue kami.

Ceremony - max of 15 mins
Picture taking
Dance?
Trivia game (sino manalong table sila punta sa buffet table)
Eating time
AVP?
Thank you speech?

^ sis kami din all in one venue nung Christian wedding ceremony namin last year.

Photo ops with bride's & groom's immediate family members

First dance of newlyweds

Dedication of families to the couple

Cake cutting and wine toasting

Dedication of maid of honor and best man

Photo ops (nakaupo lang kami ni hubby sa couple's table and per table group ang tawag ng coordinator para mag photo ops saming couple sabay instruct na sa kanila to line up to buffet table)

Ang pinakahihintay ng lahat -- dinner! Hehe!

AVP & SDE habang nagpapa tunaw ng kinain. Lol.

Newlyweds' message to families and guests

Yung remaining time nag per table rounds kami ni hubby not to take photos na but to have short chika with guests. Hehe.

it's so nice to hear other people's stories here :-)
my parents also said that they are willing to share in the some of our expenses especially the food but i told them i don't want them to. however, they are donating at least 2 lechon to our wedding and this one is their non-negotiable because they said it's not a proper celebration without lechon. we didn't plan on lechon because my husband and his family do not eat pork by choice. but he gave in because it's really the only thing my parents demanded. my parents are also planning a separate reception for their guests and our other relatives that i am not inviting :D

^^thanks sis astarte! Min of 2 and max of 3 hours kami, baka pag sobra matagal ma-bore ang guests. Yun photo ops before kainan, yun picture taking na kasi namin yun after the ceremony kaya nag insert na lang kami ng trivia game.

^sa amin bawal pork because of h2b's religion. Meron din separate reception si h2b's parents for their guests na hindi namin ininvite. Hahaa :)

Sis smile22, oo nga sisters tayo in past life. hehe! Pero hindi sa church ang ceremony namin. Same place lang ng reception since we're having a Christian ceremony. At nakakatuwa din na our partners insisted on marrying us with a full wedding celebration. Nakakatouch kaya, diba?  :-*

Sis blackgreen, suggestion lang. Maybe eating time tapos after 20-30  minutes tsaka mo palabas yung AVP nyo para mas settled na yung guest. Although the guests can opt to stay for one more hour to chika or take pictures pero officially tapos na in 2 hours.

^ahhh okie okie.. Thank you sis! So after lahat nakapunta na sa buffet table tapos lahat settled na after 20 minutes, so siguro mga 4 or 5 na kanta as background music tapos i-pplay na yun AVP. Saan na yun portion na ikot ikot kami with guests?

^ahh gets ko na :) So sa amin while we're having the trivia game, sineserve na rin food namin ni h2b, tapos before we play the AVP naka ikot na ng konti sa mga guests.
