Ang important naman is that you believe that they can give advice and guide you sa married life nyo ni husband to be. But check mo din sa church nyo if may requirements sila, like sa age, just to be sure

What's your take on this.

A friend of mine got married and to achieve the "simplest" wedding. Like me, si husband hinde. They did that to control the number of people attending (eating) during the reception.

May friend din kami na guest din and dala ang BF (who's not part of the guest list) kaya what they did was just attend the wedding and di na sumama sa reception.

Have you attended a similar wedding? I think this is ok with close friends and single guests pero offensive for couples lalo't asawa na. Just my POV.  ::)

^ marami rin naman kasing couples na they will reason out na hindi pa sila makakuha ng sarili nilang place kasi malaki nagastos nila sa wedding. so ayun para makatipid eh live with their parents muna.
risky rin naman na bumili kayo ng property if hindi pa kayo kasal. siyempre even if you are already engaged, pwedeng may mangyari pa so a lot of couples are advised na wag muna bumili ng property until hindi pa sure na conjugal na yun. unless isa lang talaga ang magbabayad sa house, for example, ang usapan talaga ay yung lalaki ang bibili. but if shared ang expenses sa pagbili ng house, ayun risky nga siya.
ang no-no lang talaga eh yung uutang ka for your wedding kasi overbudget ka na especially if we are talking about tens of thousands and more na yung amount na uutangin mo. for me, either you make your wedding simpler to cut costs or postpone until maipon mo yung amount na need mo to have the wedding that you want.

It really depends on how people think.
The offense comes from the vantage point of the invited married couple kasi family na sila at may buy1take1 mentality.
However, from the vantage point of the bride and groom, if they want it to be simple and intimate, it HAS to be only those they are really close with.

Their budget was 100k.

share ko lang yung mga ginawa nila to help those who are also planning to save a lot.

Invites, table cards, questionnaires, etc.
Church - UP church - discounted for alumnis - almni si bride. P3,500 lang ata
Bridal car - hiram sa kakilala.
Reception/Food/Cater - very basic and common lang pinili nila.
Honeymoon to Bora - regalo ng Ninong/Ninang

Kasi ang budget nila did not just go to the wedding. Bumili kasi sila ng bahay kaya chunk of their money went to that. Exactly after a year nabuntis na si wife and kotse naman ang binili nila.

general rules na alam ko:

single friend with bf/gf - its not mandatory to invite the bf/gf, esp if di nyo ka-close

engaged to be married friend - mandatory to invite the fiance

married friend - BOTO (buy one, take one) nga ito... BUT siguro (siguro lang ha, hehe), if limited nga budget ng couple, and di nila gano ka-close yung other half, ok lang siguro not to invite...  but personally i wouldnt do it. dyahe kasi.   ;D

^ Actually, parang nainis ang husband ko dito. (he's not used to that kind of set-up, bilang soshalin karamihan ng friends nya sa industry lol.) First, dahil hindi siya invited and second, umattend pa din ako. Close friend ko kasi yung groom. And hanggang ngayon napapailing siya when this wedding is brought up.

Hahaha...

i have an officemate (di kami close, so di rin ako invited hehe. diff floor and dept sya), yung wedding ceremony mismo was "sosyal" (di mukhang tipid) pero yung reception mismo was just cocktails... no chairs, just cocktail tables. then syempre finger foods lang sinerve. i guess it was done to accommodate everyone they wanted to invite... kanya kanyan diskarte lang. hehe

Actually mas gusto ko pa nga yun kasi i can do whatever i want. Pwede ako mag-mall or pa spa.

Bumili lang sila mga ready made sa SM ("we've got it all for you) hehe... and kumain sa labas.

Haaist.
