my friend got married sa amanpulo. its very simple--silang couple, yung nagkasal sa kanila, parents ng guy tapos yung lola at dad ng babae, photographer and videographer. it's very simple but its one expensive wedding. i know amanpulo is very expensive but i still asked her how much she spent (oo makulit ako hahaha). i am guessing--less than a million or more.

I like simple intimate weddings.  I have attended a lot of wedding ceremonies pero nakakasawa na yung sobrang bongga. Nakakastress isipin yung preparations.

sis babythug28, try mo makipag usap sa resorts.  if may napupusuan ka ng resort, give them your requirements and ask them to create a package for you.  achievable yan sis.

tama yan sis.  masarap mag plan and marami kang makikitang nice-to-haves pero at the end of the day, stick to what's practical.  we have a kid as well kaya ayaw na rin namin masyado gumastos.

check out stitls and punto miguel, both are batangas resorts that might give you a good package.  have been to stilts and very intimate ang peg for weddings.  i think they do small weddings.  never been to punto miguel but they send me their updated rates and saw weddings in their pics. their rates are reasonable as well.

Hi, I attended a Christian wedding in Bacolod last year. Almost 50 yung attendees.. ang saya lang.. venue is in a resort, beach front (pero di pwedeng paliguan). Tipid mode sila... Si BF yung photographer and libre lang yun kasi first wedding niya na icocover yun.. so far, okay naman lahat ng outcome..:-)

hello...
i'm also planning a simple and intimate wedding in Bacolod city where my husband (we are already civilly married last year) is from. as in intimate since wala pang 40 ang target participants including us na. just our immediate family and super close friends. yes, a big extravagant wedding would be nice but i wanted a wedding where we can really celebrate, we can talk to our guests and just have fun. in a big wedding, usually hi, congrats lang ang nagiging usapan between the couple and guests.
i don't plan to have a wedding party so sa picture taking i will consider all my female guests as my bridesmaids and my husband will consider all the male guests as his groomsmen.

Sis caprice

Maganda yung plans mo pero i highly suggest you assign someone to take pictures. Siguro ask everyone to bring cameras para madami kang pictures. Why? kasi eventually your children will want to see these pictures and hahanap hanapin nila yan. Mas ok me video din.

The rest eh Ok na yun lalo if me budget ka talagang sinusunod.

Count me in, I also had a simple wedding, proud ako na si hubby ang gumastos sa lahat ng expenses. We don't hire caterer, si [textspeak!] and mother ang nagluto, since masarap sila magluto. Wedding rings? A Japan 925 silver ring (hehe, at least di maisasangla  ;) ). I didn't wear a long dress coz I am preggy that time kaya maternity dress ang suot ko. The cake was sponsored by hubby's office mates. Sa haus lang ang ceremony and reception since it is only a civil wedding. Though very simple, I felt it is very intimate and I became emotional, I cried because of overwhelming happiness I felt dahil kasal na kami. It is not how you we'd that matters, it is when you feel the happiness of lifetime commitment with your true love.

Sis, we're getting married at St. Andrew the Apostle Church. It's in Bel-air, Makati. :)

It looks pretty nice.  Here's a pic of the church:  http://hahalat.files.wordpress.com/2011/05/standrew1.jpg.  Maikli din yung aisle if you're the type who doesn't like to walk down the aisle (like me, hehe).

Sis, where did you hold your reception?:)

Like the many others before me, I'm really thankful to the thread starter and to those who shared their stories. Reading GT sometimes makes me confuse and want things that I don't originally want, but this thread made me stop and rethink what MY dream wedding really is - and that is a simple and intimate one.

Disclaimer though, I'm not yet engaged but we started talking about marriage already. Akala kasi namin kailangan you have a lot of money na before you get engaged. =)

Sana sinimplehan na lang yung wedding then nginvest sila ng mga mas reasonable things like a place of their own or kahit mgrent.

^it depends siguro sa situation yan sis. Hindi naman porke bongga ang wedding they don't want to invest a place for their own na. Kami we're not having so bongga wedding pero we chose to live with our parents pa din for the mean time. Kasi ayoko iwan ang mom ko magisa since my dad is working abroad. So yun, just my opinion lang din we have different reasons and stories behind... :)

^ Oooppss I'm sorry. I was speaking for some people I know, may kakilala kasi ako na nagttry mahigitan ang isat-isa sa kasal nila. Ayung over over budget na. Oo naman depende sa situation. I was not speaking for everyone. My bad. :)

^ marami rin naman kasing couples na they will reason out na hindi pa sila makakuha ng sarili nilang place kasi malaki nagastos nila sa wedding. so ayun para makatipid eh live with their parents muna.
risky rin naman na bumili kayo ng property if hindi pa kayo kasal. siyempre even if you are already engaged, pwedeng may mangyari pa so a lot of couples are advised na wag muna bumili ng property until hindi pa sure na conjugal na yun. unless isa lang talaga ang magbabayad sa house, for example, ang usapan talaga ay yung lalaki ang bibili. but if shared ang expenses sa pagbili ng house, ayun risky nga siya.
ang no-no lang talaga eh yung uutang ka for your wedding kasi overbudget ka na especially if we are talking about tens of thousands and more na yung amount na uutangin mo. for me, either you make your wedding simpler to cut costs or postpone until maipon mo yung amount na need mo to have the wedding that you want.
