Do you ask God for signs?

i remember when we had mass here in the office a month ago, sabi ni Father don't ask for a sign from God but instead ask for guidance and be open minded. Baka kasi nabigay na sa atin yung sign na dapat para sa atin kaya lang hindi natin nakikita kasi iba yung hinihintay natin na sign.

When i was younger I do ask for signs.. I remember nung 4th yr HS i really wanted something and asked Him if it's for me, show me anything yellow or green that day. We were asked to go to the library and lo and behold there were yellow and green candles all over the corridor (the kuyas at our school were preparing for a Saint's feast day). Yun yun isa sa mga signs na hindi ko makakalimutan. And i think tama naman naging decision ko with the thing that I wanted.

Pero now, to be honest, i don't anymore ask for it. If i want something na lang, i work hard for it na lang. If i have to face tough choices, i ask for guidance more than signs. Usually what I do is i list down the pros and cons and see which weighs more for me, for my values as a person, for my long term goals. So ending, whatever 'signs' God was giving me to help me decide, it always boils down to MY choice -- so i have no one to blame but myself in the long run if it doesn't work.

I think kahit na hindi ka humingi ng signs, eventually may mga situation na parang masasabi mo na sign na siya for something you wished for.

There have been times when nag-aantay ako ng sign from Him pero walang dumadating, and there were times na wala akong hinihinging sign pero ang daming dumadating.  It can get frustrating and sometimes naiisip ko na ang labo, but sabi nga nila "the Lord works in mysterious ways."

Yes. Actually lately nag ask ako ng 2 sign, binigay naman niya agad sakin pero ang weird lang kasi yung sign na hinihingi ko sa panaginip nangyari.

I usually ask for guidance instead of signs because whenever I ask for the latter, I get crazy impatient :| I can't shake it off and let it be.

A month ago, I asked God for a sign kung dapat na ba akong magresign sa work ko as a call center agent. Just last week, I failed the qualifying exam for promotion. Bagsak ako sa test  Ito na ba yung sign?

I used to ask signs from God when I was younger pero ngayon hindi na. Na-realize ko kasi, there are things planned na for us, I can't control the things that will happen and honestly, natatakot din kasi ako ma-disappoint.

Way back, I used to. But now, I just ask for His Guidance. Because He knows what's best for me.

A friend told me before that it is wrong to ask God for signs - it's like challenging Him and forcing to give answers right away kahit hindi pa oras at hindi naman yun ang plano Nya para sa taong yun. Siguro,everything is meant to happen at the right place, in HIS time,and not coincidental. There are times that I also ask for it,especially during desperate moments,but most of the time, I leave everything to HIM when I couldn't take it anymore. I think the bottomline here is,at yung pinaka important is yung constant communication with God, natutuwa Sya pag lumalapit yung mga anak Nya sa Kanya. Just keep the faith 

Sis, i think d nman masama talaga na humingi ng sign. Sabi nga ng preacher namin ginawa nya example si Gideon in the bible.Dalawang beses pa na humingi ng sign! Binigay naman ni Lord. Pero sabi kasi ng preacher namin na Gideon was a man of God and he was doing God's will daw at dapat ganoon din tayo. Ako I am not that confident sa sarili ko kaya bihira ako humingi ng sign.
Most importantly sabi nga preacher namin all you have to do is know the will of God and we will never be dependent or need to ask for sign. Kasi during the old times wala pa, hindi pa nasusulat ang bible but since sa time natin meron na at andyan na panuntunan ng Dios sa lahat ng bagay, pamumuhay and believe it or not kahit yong characteristics ng dapat nating hanapin sa partner ay andyan na. Kaya daw di na daw natin kailangan masyado manghingi ng sign.
Pero di naman din siguro masama yong paminsan lang POV lang

Normal lang naman to ask for signs.  Usually God talks to you through the Bible so it is very important to constantly read the Bible to connect with God.  There are times when I do have unanswered questions, I just come across Bible verses that are suitable answers to my prayers and this works well for me.  At the end of the day, trust that God knows what is best for you, in His time.

I normally don't. Not because I think asking for signs from God is bad as I'm challenging Him to prove something to me, but because for me it's my choices and what I do that matters most.

Whenever I make an important decision, I really pray to God and ask for a sign.  Usually you just feel it when it's really meant for you.  Of course the verses I read also helps me understand what God wants me to do.

Yes at times,. But more importantly I always end it with " not my will but Yours be done"

before I just ask for signs. but now, I still do ask sign but I also try to read bible and let Him lead me. I usually do this with important decisions or confusions.

When I was in muni-muni mode in Baguio just recently, I asked God for signs for three things. I was very specific - black butterly for one thing, brown butterfly for another, and white or yellow butterfly still for the last one. I got all those. May instance pa na magkasama yung white and yellow na lumilipad. And sa may window ng room where I was staying, may nag-land na white butterfly. Eh puro building sa likod yun, hindi mapuno so napa-ngiti na lang ako ng todo. And another sign I wasn't expecting eh nakita ko sa isang signage. Sa other side of the road pa eh hindi ako normally tumitingin sa kabilang side and for some reason, paglingon ko was this huge sign. And now, it seems like things are finally falling into place. Aside from praying and asking for those signs, I've let go of all the anger inside of me so sobrang gaan talaga ng pakiramdam ko. Imagine seeing a girl walking on the road, heading to the night market with a huge grin on her face for no reason. That was me that night.

I really do believe in signs, it's just how you perceive them to be. They give you hope but you must also learn to accept whatever sign He's given.
