Try reading Bo Sanchez' books sis. True talaga re nagsusulputang expenses... but there is a way to avoid them... e.g. identifying which expenses are really YOUR expenses... OR putting your savings in a vehicle that is not easily accessible... definitely NOT in an ATM account.

i wanted to have my own million by the time i'm 30 but i'm nowhere near that dream (i'll be 30 na by may31).

so, change na lang ng goal - dapat i have my million na by 35.

I want to hit my own liquid 1M in 10yrs [textspeak!].  Ang hindi mixed with hubby's acct.  Mas realistic na goal. 

I can't do it sooner because iba nga when married. 

Sana when I was in my  20s may nag-inspire for me to save instead of shopping and travel.

Napag-usapan na namin ng husband ko ito--- and he was more excited than I am! Nakakatuwa tuloy. I downloaded Rich Dad, Poor Dad na din. Ano pa ang recommended books for a beginner?

Cash Flow Quadrant by the same author. I like this book better than Rich Dad, Poor Dad. But both are eye openers. Tsaka additional: The Turtle Always Wins by Bo Sanchez.

nakaka inspired naman yung thread na to,, pero im sad kasi parang di ko mare reach ang inaasam kong M kc breadwinner ako tapos office staff ako sa isang company so minimum lang ang income kaya pano ko marereach yun  haizt anyway sa mga successful out there congrats girls i know pinag hirapan nyo talaga yan at masaya ako truly sa mga nabasa ko  sa inyo  go! go! go!

I'm 27 years old. My goal is to have our own House and lot at the age of 37. We are started paying for the house na. Then, if I have a saving of 5k per month, I will be millionaire at the age of 45. Cross Fingers.

Wow kakainspire naman. Sana marating ko rin yun soon. Dami ko kasi luho, makeup, travel, food, shopping. Hay. Then, 2 yrs ago, i lost my job, almost a year nawala ko sa job scene.during that period, ginamit ko ipon ko. Medyo malaki na in ipon ko nun e, but di ako nagcut ng lifestyle ko coz for me, it was not my fault i resigned so why shall i punish myself on sacrificing my needs and wants. Now, 1 yr na ko sa present job ko, 27 yrs old. Hoping I could still reach that 1M mark by age 30. Parang imposible, pero sana maging posible!

Friendly unsolicited advice and I hope you don't mind... "sana maging possible" is NOT enough and "hoping" is NOT enough. DECIDE to do it already. Once you have decided, OWN it... stick to it, and don't let anything become an excuse for any delays (whoever or whatever man).

Once you become passionate about your goal, you will be surprised at how many money-making opportunities are right in front of you... and  you realize that they have been there all along but you just weren't looking.

Thank God I decided to re-read this whole thread. I read my own post (which I now realize is like a novella pala sa super duper haba, hehe) and realized that I still don't have rental income up to now... I set a goal to myself that I would enter the real estate scene this year... and until now, I have no prospect property and I haven't really made a lot of research, which I promised to do.

Grrrr.... kaya I will do something about this na talaga.

nagpost na me dito dati, i was 28 or 29 yrs old when i reached my goal of 1million. Now i'm 31, trying to reach another million by next year, at an early stage (elementary) naexpose na ko mag save (thanks to my lola). Then at my 20s, i placed my money in time deposit and SDA. Last year i entered a business. This year i was more aggressive, i invested at stock market, UITF and mutual funds. I love to shop dati, now more disciplined na ko, thanks to my boyfriend na naiinis sakin at nilalayo sa nga shoes, clothes and bags. Lagi nyang line "bibili ka nanaman?!"Tone down with shopping without depriving my wants. Now, i rather shop for stocks than spend on material things. Kaya nyo yan mga sis.  Mameejhy is right, aside from saving, we must invest! Set your goal to long term! Discipline lang mga sis....

^ agree. And live a notch below your means. And don't just make concrete goals. Be regularly in touch with them. Make a visual representation, a highly recommended move. In my case, I made sure that it was listed on my PDA Calendar's daily al,arm so I get to be reminded that that financial goal will set the tone of my activities, which includes spending, for each day..

i have no cash. as a single mom, i have reached a total of 2M at my age. 34.

bahay lupa, paupahan sasakyan. but honestly no money.
yun nga lang, i took my children to exclusive schools, and yung college ko is taking up dentistry.

super tyaga here. and super walang bisyo. sana nga when my son graduated... 40 years old na ako noon.. sana naman bigyan nila ako ng pang travel..

seeing my children succeed someday, worth more than a million to me.

26! Through sheer pagkukuripot at konting mutual funds. Hahaha. The thing is to reward yourself every now and then that you have accomplished a financial goal. Hoping to -- wait, kailangan daw i-claim na mangyayari para mangyari nga -- I WILL triple it before I turn 30

Hello!

Pasali po! Nainspire naman ako sa thread na to na ipursue ang aking goal na magkaron ng at least 1M before I hit 30. I'm 24 now. Feeling ko, doable naman kasi may 6 years pa ko pero personally wish ko sana ASAP. lol.

Recently lang kasi ako naging "financially literate". Dati kasi, wala akong ka-alam alam sa mga ganyan...Ang alam ko lang dati na pwede kang magipon sa banks, pero buti na lang namulat na ko sa katotohan. Di lalago ang pera mo sa bank, andyan ang inflation. Kaya go go go tayo sa investments.
