ngayon ko lang nakita thread na to, inspiring. :)

i earn a lot sa business ko,  i guess when i saw the cash flowing in, naging complacent din ako so i started buying things na. ngayon, save na nga ako ulit. siguro if naging matipid lang talaga ako, nasa half a mil narin ako right now. because of this thread, mas na push ako to really save up na ulit.

Im in my 30s and i still don't have a million though i have decent savings naman.  I can say ok naman salary ko but with ammortization and household  expenses and that 30% tax (ouch talaga to!!!) deducted from my salary, konti na lang nAtira.  Plus, hindi rin kami very prudent ni hubs kaya ang hirap makaipon ng 1M.  But tuloy tuloy lang ako sa pagsisave.  Automatic na yun dinededuct sa salary ko monthly since may employee savings group the company where i work.  When i was still single, medyo 5 years na yata ako nagwowork when i started saving.  Sana pala kahit konti, nagsave na ko as soon as i started working.  Kaya sisterly advice ko sa mga "young single ones" here, start saving as soon as possible Kahit konti lang.  kasi when you get married (depende din naman sa money set-up nyo mag-asawa), maraming expenses talaga :)

it's not how much you earn. may mga sumasahod ng doble, trpe pa sa kinikita mo pero mas madami pa silang utang kesa sa iyo. discipline will get you to that 1M :)

super true. i know somebody who earns like 6x bigger sakin pero sa dami nyang utang , feeling ko mas madami akong pera sa kanya.  at gusto pa kong utangan  ::)

sana in 5 years makahawak na ko ng 1M, na syang ipambibili/pandagdag sa bibilhin naming bahay. this year pa lang kami mag uumpisa ni hubby. di na ko makapaghintay. masarap isipin na nung 22 ako, independent na ako tapos pagdating ng 30 magkakaron na ko ng 1m. sana! :) sarap lang, makakamit namin to ng walang halong pamana o tulong galing sa parents. as in dugo't pawis. totoo nga na ito ang true meaning of life! hehe

Ang goal dapat hindi lang 1 million. :) Dapat save and invest as much as you can.

kasi let's face reality, ano nalan ba 1 million ngayon? (yes it is a big amount but hindi pwedeng hangang dun lang) lalo na sa mga susunod na years. lumiliit ang value ng pera.. it is very important to invest as well lalo na properties and business bukod sa cash savings.

Nakakainspire naman mga sisses. first million, sana naman, by dec 2013 or jan 2014----at 32! ang tanda na, i know.  :o

I want to educate myself, too, about finances. i recently got married. naubos ang savings namin for the wedding. yung naiwan, nag-open kami ng dollar and peso accounts. since i work abroad, my pledge is to send about 10 thou a month sa peso account. yun ang magiging emergency fund. my husband is a seaman, sya naman bahala sa fixed amount nya sa dollar account. we have separate savings, that we will combine when we are together.

nagstart na kami magpagawa ng house. ang goal, matapos na ang payables by the next quarter of 2014. papa-rent na lang namin yun, kasi we plan to settle abroad for about 2-3 years pa. goal din namin to separately save a million by jan 2014. pray lang ng pray at tipid mode talaga.

the thing is, we only keep the money sa bank. wala akong alam.

^Congrats on making the commitment to achieving financial freedom wife2be! Wow, kahit ngayon pa lang nag-pledge, target mo na is to reach it by the end of the year. Good luck! I'm sure kayang-kaya yan because you and your husband are in it together.

If I could just say something about the emergency fund: it is more prudent to keep your emergency fund in the currency that you use most often. That way, the money is not susceptible to highs and lows of exchange rates. You should also be able to access it as quickly as possible, so you can use it to attend to the emergency as quickly as possible too.

For now, it is okay to keep money in the bank because you are still at the stage where you are building your emergency fund. Once you have that backup, that's when you can start focusing on investing and making your money work for you.

Nakuuuu. Just cant get enough!
Nakakainspire. Promise magsesave na talaga ko. Need to spend wisely!

Agree to the highest level! It's so much easier to save when you are single since you don't have expenses.

Actually, single pa ako now but I am getting married next year. I am projecting na our incomes and living expenses... and whoa! ang laki pala to maintain a separate household.

If ever nasa half a million ka na, bigla naman may susulpot na unexpected expenses. Ayun umpisa ka naman mag-ipon. Ganito yata talaga ang life ipon lang ng ipon walang katapusan. :)
