Natatakam naman ako sa thread na ito! Ano ba masarap isabay sa grapes?

I've read that grapes go well with fresh and soft cheeses like cream cheese, mascarpone. But i've tried grapes, blueberries and strawberries with other soft cheeses like brie, camembert, etc :)

yung sharp cheddar pwede ka siguro maghanap sa mga deli :) di po authentic sharp cheddar yung nasa grocery like magnolia or qbb afaik :)

Mga sis, I'm just wondering what would be a good cheese for lasagna? I'm here in the US and I don't like the mozzarella for my lasagna, it tasted bland and not creamy like Quickmelt or other cheese/s found in the Philippines. Gusto ko yung lasa ng cheese from Greenwich. Thanks mga sis.

^ try ricotta, parmesan and mozzarella all together :) you'll get the saltiness of parmesan with the combined texture of mozzarella and ricotta. yum!!

Great thread. I absolutely love cheese. :) the smellier the better.  I love hard cheeses too though like Tilsit, Raclette, gruyere, and my all time favorite Manchego. Whenever I go to cheesemongers,  I make sure to try something new. My new favorite is the Kokos cheese (cheese with nutty flavor of coconut), which they sell at Santi's. I also buy large blocks of cheddar at S&R, you can freeze them and keep them indefinitely, if you'll shred them for sauces and pasta.

andee how?

I'm just starting to explore cheese kasi ANG MAHAL ng real cheese dito sa atin. So far I've tried mozzarella ang parmesan, kahit masakit sa bulsa, masarap naman ang good quality. usually hundred grams off a big chunk ang binibili ko. Tried feta and emmental narin when I worked in a pizza company years ago.

Pero mahal talaga ang imported cheese dito sa atin.

I love stinky cheeses like Muenster, Gorgonzola, Roquefort, Limburger, etc...  :)

My newest fave is Cambozola. It's a mix of Gorgonzola and french cream cheese. Heavenly!

I like gruyere and fontina cheese. Gouda is too creamy but I like it din. My go to is fresh mozzarella and parmigiana-reggiano

^none in Santi's? I usually buy this from the deli counters of Shopwise, Rustan's and even in Robinson's (Eastwood). In Robinson's the brand they carry is Jed/Jedco.

I usually buy my parmesan shredded at S&R. I keep a small bottle on the fridge and freeze the rest.

Local cheese that I love is Mr Moo's Goat Feta Cheese. It has the right saltiness. Best with salad or just plain crackers.

Yes, they use emmental sa 4-Cheese pizza nila. Emmental, Feta, Mozza, & Parmesan yata or Gouda.
